There were truly so many issues but here are some that stand out: 1.The Claremont is 100% unsafe. My apartment was broken into because the front and back doors were never secured, and my actual room door had barely any security. Multiple packages were also stolen because it was so easy for anyone to get inside the building. 2. You never want to feel taken advantage of but that is 100% how they make you feel. When I was moving in I remember Tiffany said they needed extra time to clean up and that my rent would be prorated for the extra days they needed. So I waited until the verbally agreed upon pushed back date that I would move in, and when I reached her she basically acted like she had no idea what I Was talking about and declined to prorate rent saying it was ready on the 1st of the month. Among many other instances of being overcharged and basically lied to, there was a strong sense of being taken advantage of. 3. Maintenance let themselves into my room on several occasions without any notice!!! I remember coming home from work and seeing letters from MSE on my couch.....I was a single female living in a studio. This to me is insanity and probably illegal. Shame on them. In conclusion, as I look back, the conditions of this apartment aren't even something I would let my dog live in.

I lived in this building for several years, and for a couple of those years, it was truly a great place to live. Nancy (previous assistant property manager), Shawn at the front desk, Jared, Jennifer and Tiffany, were the heart of the place. They knew your name, checked in on you, and made you feel like more than just a tenant. Friendly, helpful, and consistently reliable. They created a community where you actually looked forward to coming home. Then Greystar replaced the entire team, and things went downhill fast. The new community manager, Zack, was always standoffish and not very friendly. He rarely made eye contact, never said hello, and didn't seem to want anything to do with tenants. His assistant, Lora, was the same. The energy shifted completely. It stopped feeling like home and started feeling like a place where management was just waiting to catch you doing something wrong so they could charge you for it. The building itself has also started to show serious signs of age. Appliances, fixtures, and elevators break frequently. And when you bring it up? The response is basically: "It's an old building. Deal with it." No urgency, no real care, just a shrug and some passive language that makes it clear you're on your own. They claim to welcome and love pets, but my experience says otherwise, I had a senior dog with arthritis who relied on the rooftop dog park. They sent an email saying it would stay open during maintenance , then shut it down completely with no warning. I asked for help and got zero empathy. Management blamed the contractors, stayed out of sight, and followed up with a cold email. That incident said everything about how little they actually care. They also will charge you ~1k if something happens to your stove top, so if you do move in, make sure they give you a brand new one, or it will break and you will pay for it. Mine showed signs of use when I moved in... didn't think much of it and then it randomly broke... and had to pay for a brand new one. On top of all this, they tried to raise my rent to more than what many newer buildings with way more amenities are charging. When I asked if they'd consider my loyalty and clean record, they brushed it off and claimed the location justified the price which isn't true either. Moving out confirmed what I already knew: they don't value long-term tenants or care about the living experience. I always paid on time, never caused a problem, and still left feeling like just another lease to flip. If you're considering moving here, think twice. The community that made this building special is long gone. What's left is a tired building, hands-off management, poor communication, and a growing list of fees and disappointments. I don't write reviews like this often, but if it helps someone avoid the same experience, it's worth it.

My son is a resident at the Jefferson hospital and now it's time for him to move. Unfortunately, he needs to keep the apartment for 2 months beyond the lease period. Griffin Center City Apartments is charging him $4200 per month for those 2 months when they pay only $2400 per month in their lease. I can understand that month-to-month rents will be higher than the yearly lease but almost double the rent is just a way for them to make money off of someone who has no choice!! After approaching the management, they have offered him 4 months lease for $2900...which still doesn't make sense when he has to move to Rochester in 2 months. So they are saying, pay almost $4000 MORE for 2 months OR pay $6700 MORE for 4 months (since he will not use the apartment for 2 out of the 4 months!...and he will have to pay 2 months additional rent in Rochester for those 2 months!!). I would like to WARN ALL OF YOU not to RENT from these big companies. They ALWAYS get you in the end...especially I am asking my son to put up notices on his bulletin boards and whatsapp groups in the Hospital to discourage Residents to rent from these people. All I ask the apartment management is to be fair...charge him $3000 per month for those two months...and don't even say that the apartment will be vacant...I know there is a list of people waiting to move in!! These are like 40 year old apartments but paint splatters are controllable as are flooring. But, the worst part was dealing with a belligerent leasing agent, Mary Jo. The manager , Mary, was accessible and worked to make the repairs right. Today, just the foyer floor needs replacement. I love my location and rent.

I genuinely enjoyed living here, but the $400 a month rent increase when I tried to renew my lease is what lead to a 1 star review. The new management is great (compared to the 3 different management teams during the short time I lived there) and I know the increase was coming from corporate. However, the building is not worth almost $3000 a month to live in a glorified studio. Now they're left with a bunch of empty units because no one will renew or a sign a lease at these outrageous rates. The building is a ghost town. It's really a shame that they're losing SO many tenants over this. Not to mention, this building is disgusting at this point. I went back to visit some friends a few weeks ago. I found a shattered handle of alcohol just sitting in the hallway. They are really letting this place go, it's terrible. If it's this bad now, I could only imagine how bad it is in 5 years. I must share one of my memories at The View - when a domestic dispute carried into the entire building with a man breaking doors to enter into back into the building after being escorted out by the police. My boyfriend, who is a corrections officer, had to handle the domestic dispute because the front desk was unsure what to do. The back door is still broken from this (it happened in August/September) and anyone can walk right in by pulling on the back door. **Also, many of the 5 star reviews on Google are employees of Priderock. I have countless emails with their names in the signature line.

Updated Review: I have had two leases in this building since January of 2020. We knew what we were getting into and we were super patient about it. Everything was great, obviously since we signed two leases. The original staff was amazing and super helpful and informative. There has since been changes with staffing and management. I submitted a work order for my ceiling on November 8 2021 and as of now has not been addressed (January 9th 2022) Maintenance came to fix, yet another, leaky ceiling and left the job incomplete with a patchy paint job that clearly does not reflect luxury living. I've emailed about this twice. They have also come to fix a leaky kitchen faucet, which they left very lose and feels like it can fall off at any moment. Emailed about this half done job a week ago. On top of the sloppy maintenance work, our renewal lease option that was originally presented to us was an increase of $500 in rent & $100 in parking. So a total of $600 monthly increase to renew. Obviously that prompted us to look else where. We found a great apartment in Rittenhouse Square thats $200 less than what we pay now. So it actually worked out for us in the end. They did try to negotiate another offer , however at that point we've already seen other, more convenient apartments, so it was too late. The building itself used to be kept a lot better. Not so much now. The walls were a mess. They just recently painted them. Just in time for tours, assuming many residents will be moving with this rent increase. Morning front desk staff is pleasant, always speak always nice. Night shift is completely different. Always on their cell phone, heads down. Not attentive. Just there. There is one girl who always speaks and is nice , everyone else needs more training. Someone on staff is always sitting in theater room just hanging out. The rooftop deck is finally open after two years, sort of. The elevator button to the roof is disabled for whatever reason. The building isn't terrible , they just need to figure out the maintenance/ management issues so tenants won't experience a two month delay like I have. Take more pride in keeping the building clean. Train staff appropriately, and bring back community events (NOT the ones that we currently have to sell a product/service ) Those feel like timeshare presentations. If these issues are fixed , then maybe asking for more $$$$ a month won't be as insulting.

I moved into the model unit so everything was complete and clean for move in day. It was new and modern and pretty, although the unit was a bit dark. There was an issue with the fact that the elevators were not working yet and I had to pay my movers an additional $350 to take my stuff up two flights of stairs. During my stay I had about four leaks, the worst being when they had to make a huge hole in my bedroom wall to fix one of them. But still sh*t happens. The biggest issue though, the one that I cannot stress enough is the noise. If you like it quiet please do yourself a favor and consider a different building otherwise you will be moving out in a year. I slept every night with ear plugs and a white noise machine and I still heard every stomp, thump, pee, fart, burp, and conversation my upstairs neighbors had...not to mention when they would run the garbage disposer for a minute straight and it would sound like a freight train running through the apartment. There is zero insulation. One night I had to run out at midnight and get a hotel room because the noise was unbearable from the party upstairs, and I needed to sleep. I do not hear a thing. Location is safe and amazing. One block to tons of restaurants, bars, gyms. Huge brand new gym and huge, dry, secure storage unit included with the rent. NEGATIVES The common areas outside are not really meant to be enjoyed as the sound is very loud in the open-air atriums. Once inside the apartments, it is NOT LOUD at all. My heating bill was more than the other units. When brought to the building's attention, I felt heard and that they were going to look into it. Some units may not get as much sunlight as others. I prefer lots, and this is my biggest complaint. If you are seeking a very well maintained rental, management that responds immediately, a building without mice, bugs, and other vermin, this is it. Management constantly changes and new management keep saying the same thing. "We are here to change things". Do not live here. I'm out this year. Final straw. Everyone leaves quickly. They even moved me into the wrong apartment not facing the river, but I was too kind to push back. I'd give them a 1 on a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the worst with integrity, cost especially, maintenance (the guys are great however), management et al.
