We ate here with a friend the other day. Our waiter (I believe his name was Tim) was great! First of all, he remembered my friend... he said something on the lines of you usually sit over there and you usually order this. I'm sure he has many customers, but I was so impressed that he remembered my friend. Additionally, he came to check on us often and was helpful with every request. He's such a friendly guy. On top of the great service, the food was great too. I feel like a lot of restaurants have been skimping on the portions... but not here. I do my best to visit this brewery every time I find myself in Boulder, or somewhere nearby. Their beer has never disappointed and the food is pretty good too! Not too many vegetarian options, but a couple that are good enough. This place has definitely gotten more popular over the years, rightfully so, and they do take reservations, which I highly recommend if you plan on eating a proper meal here. Avery was on our list of breweries to try during our visit to Boulder. Pulling up to the facility, the building is massive and dwarfs you! There is plenty of lot and street parking so no worries there. There is a large open seating and patio space with astroturf that is dog friendly. Lots of people hanging out with their pups and enjy food and beer. You can go around to the front of the building and up the stairs for seating as well as downstairs. There is also a self guided brewery tour that you can go on. We didn't wait long to be seated upstairs, it took our server a little while to come around but it gave us time to figure out our flight of beer and food choices. We tried five beers- Raspberry Sour, Ginger Sour, Chai High, Raspberry Truffale, and Hazy IPA. The two sours were nice- plenty of flavor and a sour kick with a smooth finish. I wanted to like the Chai High, as the chai flavor was great but it seemed overpowered by the other flavors in the beer. The Hazy IPA had a citrus finish that we enjoyed. The Raspberry Truffale had strong notes of chocolate and raspberry but at 16.2 ABV, the alcohol content just made it too boozy. Moving on to food- we had the pretzel, the gumbo, and the Meat +3. The pretzel was a little overdone but still tasty and the cheese dip was delicious. I loved the gumbo with a side of cornbread. My hubby and I shared the Meat +3- it comes with a fennel coleslaw which was really interesting. The ribs were done perfectly, the brisket and pulled pork just average. Overall our food was good. There is a shop upstairs as well where you can buy plenty of glasses, clothing and other items. We grabbed a pint glass to add to our collection! read more

During our weekend in Denver definitely the best meal we had. Stopped on our way back from Rocky Mountain National Park. Had to wait a bit for a table so we walked around the store and brewery. We both ordered the fried chicken sandwich and split a flight. Tried a few new things but preferred my old favorite El Gose and Liliko'i Kepolo. This place is an absolute must if you're looking for great food and a beer for every palate in the Boulder area. We came here on a Sunday early afternoon just as some people were finishing brunch and others were moving on to lunch. There's an awesome outdoor area with lots of tables, lawn games and an outdoor bar where you can get cans of beer. We settled inside at the bar, and although they don't offer flights of beers, they do have flight-sized pours which allow you to pick as many beers as you like and try them without ordering an entire flight. The whole reason I knew about Avery being from out of town is the great fruity and sour beers they have, so being able to try a diverse range and beers that don't often make it out of the tap room was awesome! The place can get pretty busy so I wouldn't recommend coming here on a tight schedule, but this is definitely a must-see when visiting! read more

My favorite brewery of ALL TIME. During COVID: use their 'reserve ahead' seating feature on Yelp and get there when they open. Not many inside tables available, but a decent amount of outside barrel tables (maybe 15, and standing only) and a handful of outside seated tables. ALL require an RSVP, and they will serve both beer and food at barrels or tables. Plan ahead so your time will be spent drinking great beer instead of standing around waiting. Definitely a cool place to grab a beer. It's huge.....indoor downstairs, indoor upstairs, and my favorite, the outdoor patio. Huge selection of beer and reasonably priced. I had the crab cake sandwich with mash potatoes. The crab cake was excellent. Tons of crab chunks in the crab cake and you can actually taste the freshness of the crab. The mash potatoes were full of flavor. Creamy but not toooooo creamy, if that makes any sense. Service was good even though they were busy. When you enter through the first floor, you don't realize that there is an entirely different dining area and bar upstairs. The stairs towards the back lead up there! We ate upstairs. We were sat next to the window and the view was really pretty. Our server, Tyler, was seriously top-notch. His recommendations were fantastic. When we sat down, he gave us suggestions on what beers to order according to our tastes. When our food was about to arrive, he helped us pair beers with our meals. Tyler told us the chef was from Alabama and studied in New Orleans. It showed by the choices on the menu. A majority of the table had the Chicken and Biscuits. So tasty! Highly recommend it if it is still on the menu when you go. I had the BBQ Sammie with white cheddar mashers. Also very tasty! Outstanding service, knowledge and generosity! I happen to work at a brewery back east and was just here on vacation and wanted to visit as many breweries as possible. My friends told our server that I worked at a brewery, a few minutes later our server came over with free beers for us to drink, on the house. Very cool! We got wings and a jumbo pretzel. Both were outstanding, the wings were cooked to perfection and the bleu cheese dressing served with it tasted so good. THE BEER WAS INCREDIBLE!! I went to Avery Brewing on whim. I was with my significant other and one of my other friends back from Rocky Mountain National Park and our flight was delayed two times, which opened up an opportunity to stop in and check out this brewery. I have had their beer before in Illinois, but it is a whole new experience actually being in their brewery. And the experience was fantastic. Their brewery is large and I believe we were there on an early Sunday evening and the place was packed. We didn't have reservations and there was a wait. Luckily, we were all able to squeeze into the bar. We ordered some appetizers and of course beer. Their beer is really, really good. There is so much variety that it is hard to find one that doesn't appeal to you. The brew keeps were really attentive and were handing out samples to test as their tap list was one of the larger tap lists that I have seen. I am including a picture of one side of the menu. The other side was just as long. I really enjoyed the Sui Cochi, Mephistophele's Stout and the Island. I had a few small pours of a few of the others. I am sure many of these are seasonals. We wrapped up our two or so hours here during our Denver flight delay with a nice bread pudding. If I lived in Boulder, I would be here once a week or more. Wow! No wonder why Avery makes amazing beers! They take pride in everything they do! The building itself is beautiful. It's huge, ultra clean and modern while decorated in warmth and welcoming vibes. The food is delicious!!! The service was fantastic, too. Our server, Michelle, was really great and took good care of us. She hit it out-of-the-park with the beer recommendations! The beer is special. Everything we tried was so tasty! My favorite was the Rocky Mountain Olsen's. It's a stout made with malted milk balls. :D We were able to tour the facility (free with RSVP) and August, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. We loved learning about their brewing process and I gained a huge respect for this craft! I highly recommend making reservations for the restaurant an hour before the tour. I enjoy Avery's beers but I have mixed feelings about the visit I had here. First the building isn't fluid. You walk in the main entrance and there aren't any signs or a human to direct you. You can either turn to your left or go up the stairs to your right. Turns out either will take you to a tap/dining room. The patio is off to the side of the building and just outside the downstairs tap room. The spaces are open with plenty of room for a large group and it's also very loud. The atmosphere isn't much, just a bar with painted concrete walls really. The staff wasn't terrible but they didn't go out of their way to help visitors who have questions or have never been before. We had to approach someone to ask for help (after we walked past three employees who were watching us wander with the deer in headlights look). Once seated at a table downstairs, we ordered flights and food. The service was fine. The food was decent pub food. The beer, as always, was great. I enjoyed being able to sample a few beers that we don't have in our area, but that's the only highlight here. Otherwise this place would get 3 stars. read more

My first visit to the newer location. Very nice facility with food service. There is a gift shop that sells their beer, including the more rare bottles. You can also take a self guided tour. The beer: most of the standard beers are available for pours and growler fills. They also have rare beers and brewery only beers. I had tasters of two sours that were top notch. A little pricey, but I understand why as they were aged in cab barrels or several years old. The food: really good. my crew was happy with the quality. I split a sandwich and an order of duck fries. Yum! I could have eaten the whole sandwich but I had more beer tasting to do. The patio area was nice with an area for cornhole. Went to refuel after taking unexpected super difficult hike up to Royal Arch for 5 hours. As soon as we arrived we were seated promptly, and greeted by our server within 60 seconds of sitting down with much needed H2O. He took our beer and appetizer orders on his handheld device. Since he was friendly and hit up a conversation with my husband, das pretzel came out before he even walked away, shortly followed by the beer flight.
