Business is very conveniently placed. It took less than two minutes to get here from my house. The office looks very clean and staff is very professional. I brought all three of my cats here for their annual vet exam and vaccinations. It was easy to get an appointment, I I actually got one on the same day and I was able to book it online. They're open on Mondays which some vet clinics are not.

*our dog is a current patient* Arrived this morning at 7:30am(opening time) because our dog was dying/taking his last breath AND THEY TURNED US AWAY (because we didn't schedule/make an appointment for our dog's sudden death). We didn't have an appointment so they turned us away, told us to go somewhere else and wished us luck! They literally said "good luck"!! There wasn't another car in the parking lot. We were the only ones there AND THEY TURNED OUR DYING DOG AWAY. Gave him no chance and gave us no hope. My husband and I are flabbergasted. What a traumatic event. Take your pets to New Hope instead. Once we arrived at New Hope they ran out to the car, took action, GAVE US HOPE, took our limp and gasping dog (who they have also never seen before btw), immediately started treating him and now he is in stable condition... I'm embarrassed I ever gave Avery Ranch "Hospital" a chance. Absolutely embarrassed. I write this review so somebody else doesn't make the same mistake that I did and hopefully AR takes a step back and realizes what they did and prevents it from happening again to someone else (because it sure the hell won't be with me and my dog).

I would only recommend Dr. Ash. I have not seen any other vets there, but I have lived across the country and she is and has been the only one I would personally recommend. She genuinely is attentive fully present in conversation about what your pet needs. Always available by phone, prompt to call back, patient with our concerns. Our situation with our pet may not end well, but Dr. Ash has been there through every phase and we thank her. The staff is friendly and excellent as well.

I thought I had found a good place to get an affordable clinic visit and other regular vaccines…read moresuch as rabies, shop, leptospirosis, etc. for our dog as we just moved here from out of town. The staff were generally helpful and friendly during the first visit but my dog had a little anxiety the first time and was unable to stay calm enough to get his vaccines. So they prescribed some gabapentin and trazaodone to calm him down. They charged about $30 for the drugs, which is way overpriced but fair enough, I took up half an hour of their time. The next visit went fine - the vet really didn't say too much until we asked him so questions. We had to go back a third time to get the leptospirosis booster. Unfortunately, my dog's anxiety sprung up again and the staff could not get the vaccine in him. So they recommended the gabapentin/trazaodone again. I asked if I could get a prescription to fill it at a Petco or Petsmart. They said they could only fill it in house and it was $42 for three portions. As these pills were like 17 cents each online, I asked if I could a prescription to fill it outside. I was told that it was the vet's policy that they could only fill the pills inside. I ended up getting the booster elsewhere (without any need for drugs) and won't be back.

It seemed like there was always another test, treatment, or add-on being pushed, even for routine appointments. I understand recommendations are part of veterinary care, but the constant pressure made the experience uncomfortable and expensive. Overall, I wouldn't personally recommend Buttercup Veterinary Hospital based on my experience. We've raised German Shepherds for years, so we're very familiar with the breed and common skin and allergy issues. My son's GSD is currently visiting, and I stopped by Buttercup Veterinary Hospital simply trying to purchase more of the medicated shampoo they had previously recommended for itchy skin. I was denied because my own GSD, who was a patient there and was ultimately put down at their clinic, had passed away, so I was told I was no longer considered a current patient. Losing my dog was heartbreaking, and the interaction felt cold and unnecessarily transactional. Unfortunately, that experience reinforced my overall feeling that this clinic focuses more on upselling appointments and services. Find a vet who doesn't shut people out when their pet passes away.

My poor boy. We called around and were luckily referred to Parmer Lane Pet Hospital. They answered the phone and were extremely helpful & had genuine concern about our problem. They had availability & said as soon as we can get there. So we opted for the next appointment spot. When we walked in, we were greeted with smiling faces and quickly checked into the exam room. Our vet tech, Amanda, came in and quickly accessed Hobbes, asked us some questions to get his baseline down. She also offered him some treats, which he loved! He's pretty picky normally, so of course I had to find out what kind they were so we can buy them for him. (Pic attached) She also let him explore and he was very happy about that as well. Then Amanda walked out and back in with Dr Thevis. Dr Thevis said hi to Hobbes. Gave him some pets and told him how cute he was while checking him for any other injuries since we explained we thought Hobbes got a scratch from his sister when they were playing. Thankfully no other injuries. Dr. Thevis and Amanda kept Hobbes very calm and put a yellow dye in his eye so that we could see if he had any scratches. He blinked a few times, but didn't seem to care because it happened so quickly. Dr Thevis showed us with a black light how a scratch/cut/inflammation would light up in his eye. Unfortunately he has a corneal ulcer. We were given eye drops, a cone, and then asked to schedule a recheck so we can make sure he gets better. The next day, his eye had some gunk in it, and I was so concerned! I called Parmer Lane and Dr. Thevis was not in, however the receptionist (sorry I forgot her name) answered the phone and was so sweet and caring and told me that they would have a vet tech answer my questions and give me a call back as soon as possible. She also said if I had not heard back by lunchtime to give them a call again. The number they have on file is my husband's and he did not answer his phone, but they left us a detailed message. The following day, they called us again to make sure that we had gotten the voicemail and were not worried about his eye. I thought it was so thoughtful to call back just to make sure that we had gotten their previous message. I called in to reschedule the recheck appointment and it was a breeze! Everyone who works here seems to genuinely want to help you! The level of care, concern, and customer service from the team at Parmer Lane Pet Hospital is 10/10. You guys are doing everything right. Thank you so much for making finding a new vet so easy. Definitely referring my friends.

I see why she came here, as every vet and tech we interacted with was a world more experienced and compassionate than we've seen anywhere else. Other vets we had seen after she left wouldn't even give us guidance or concern for her condition, so we had tracked down our doc and truly, they saved her life, it bought us at least another happy year or so with our gal. In her many years of life, we'd moved lots and have seen a full spectrum of vets and emergency vet hospitals and just wow. It feels good to be able to trust the staff this well. Our gal had advanced kidney disease, but they were able to stabilize her and get us on a quality of life maintaining spot with fluid therapy. We had a vacation, and a tech was able to make home visits to help out while we were gone to keep our girl in good shape. It's been around a year since she passed, and we recently brought a new pup into our lives! Made our first visits this month for her shots, and it is heart warming to see all the staff again. I decided to leave this Vet practice solely because of Dr. Chris Faggioni…read more When I first met him he was "dry" & uninterested in my new basset hound puppy (how can you not just LOVE that floppy, funny face!?) but I figured that he'd had a hard day or something... and let it go. I switched doctors in the practice and saw Dr. Graf, who was great and lovingly cared for Mr Potter, my male Basset Hound, from puppy to 2.5 years. During a difficult period when my dog was sick, I expressed my dismay to the staff about poor communication with me when I needed followup calls or emails about laboratory results, Rx medication that needed to be compounded or special ordered, and followup appointments. CRICKETS I called again and again asking to speak to a Vet. Finally, after two days, Dr Faggioni called me. I explained my concerns and the lack of quality communication which I expected. He told me that it was perhaps best for me to find another vet practice! REALLY!? DONE. GONE. BOOM Interestingly enough, that lady vet, Dr. Graf, is no longer working there, too. Not surprised. This guy is awful. He has a terrible "bedside" manner (how does someone NOT talk in high baby talk to an adorable puppy?) THAT should've been a Red Flag for me! AVOID the headache and problems...choose a different vet practice from the beginning. Followup: Addressing the practice DVM who responded to my Google review (go read her response yourself)... https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/117270310283708621777/place/ChIJ4yNHTkTNRIYRYOZRvfkt5pU/@30.4694421,-97.9277581,11z/data=!4m6!1m5!8m4!1e1!2s117270310283708621777!3m1!1e1?hl=en-US&entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI1MDIxMi4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D Wow... Really? "impatient and overbearing owners"... I hope every person reading this review sees that comment and let's that sink in before they make an appointment with your practice! You have no idea! You cannot even BEGIN to understand how upsetting this whole experience was for me. And there is NO WAY you can excuse your staff's mismanagement of the communications nor Dr Faggioni's reprehensible, unprofessional response to my complaint. My dog had a BLEEDING lower GI. After that first email from Dr Graf, I was concerned & had multiple questions about the treatment plan. I wanted to TALK her and have my concerns addressed and questions answered, so I could make the best, evidence-based decision about the treatment. It doesn't matter that I emailed the practice after midnight. The VET should have called me after receiving the message from the Receptionist and reading my email. But NO ONE called me. After I didn't receive a call all day, I called to ask why and underscore the importance of my TALKING in real time, to my Vet. Email correspondence was not adequate! I explained that to the Receptionist. She made excuses for the practice and said she would relay my message to the Vet who was seeing patients. NO ONE CALLED. I had to look up answers to my questions ONLINE in order to make an informed decision about which medication I wanted to give my dog. I called later to arrange to pick up the medication. When I arrived, I again voiced my DISMAY at the LACK of FOLLOWUP by a VET, and that I expected to hear from the OWNER in the morning. Again this was TWO DAYS of no phone contact from my Vet who "supposedly" was "caring" for my dog! Dr Faggioni called the next morning and conveyed NO CONCERN or EMPATHY and clearly did not CARE that I was upset about his practice's failure. His lack of COURTESY towards me and his UNPROFESSIONAL comment, that I should "find another veterinary practice" is the RED FLAG that EVERY person reading this should "GET" from my review! THIS IS NOT OKAY! YOU cannot make it okay simply by reading an employee's narrative from a chart! That cannot adequately convey the issues I needed to discuss. If I could give a "ZERO" star rating I would!
