I am sad to feel obliged to write this review. I love my vet, but a recent experience has shown their true colors. Last year I got a quote to have my dog's teeth cleaned and was quoted a price of $800. I became very ill myself and had to postpone it to this year. So I asked for a new quote and was prepared to get the cleaning done. At the preliminary exam, I was told somewhere around $1,000 (perhaps slightly more). When I got the "final" quote, it was $3,700+. I was furious that they had increased the price by a factor of almost five. This is predatory pricing and is apparently fueled by the conglomerate that has bought them out. I have a lot of friends in the dog community and asked them about this. They unanimously said that this was outrageous and not a single one had a quote this high. Several told me that Cypress Creek Veterinary has become notorious for their ridiculously high prices, and several of them have quit using their services. I posted this on our Neighborhood group, and the many people who responded said that they should be banned for price gouging. A lot of people have now learned about this, and their clinic's reputation has suffered as a result. I would encourage you to avoid them and find a local vet clinic owned and controlled by the vets who work there and who actually care about the welfare of their patients. Also, I took my dog to Emancipet for his teeth cleaning. They were very kind, professional, and did an amazing job on his teeth. They charged $425. read more

I moved to Cedar Park 3.5 years ago and found Cypress Creek shortly thereafter. I have a now 15 year old miniature dachshund who never had any health concerns and essentially only needed a vet for annual wellness exams and vaccinations. I was never blown away by the service but it was decent overall. No one extremely personable or extraordinarily compassionate but again given my dog's needs (or lack thereof), I overlooked it. Fast forward to this years' annual exam and my dog has now developed a heart murmur, has elevated ALT levels and I asked if they could explore an arthritis diagnosis given her stiffness and lack of mobility recently along with dry skin and a dull coat. Every time I asked a question or expressed concern, I was brushed off and told everything was just age related. Even after pushing for more answers, I continued to get pushback but was finally told that we could do an abdominal ultrasound and chest Xray. I was never offered any alternatives or specialist referrals. Everything felt rushed and impersonal. I was also told that they don't know when their ultrasound company would be by to schedule appointments and to "just keep calling back or wait for a call from them". After nearly 3 months of getting the run around with zero answers, zero resolution and absolutely ZERO care or attention to me or my Dog, I decided to switch vets. Within one visit at our new vet I now have a scheduled echocardiogram, abdominal ultrasound and chest X-ray, full lab work up and an in depth care plan moving forward. All because they listened to my concerns, paid attention to my dog, asked in depth and probing questions about her overall health and symptoms. They offered solutions rather than seeming to be put out by my concern. This same lackadaisical attitude has been shown to me by every person I've come into contact with from Cypress Creek Pet care, from the front desk staff, techs and our FORMER vet, Dr. Holloway. To add insult to injury, every experience I have had here has been incredibly overpriced. Including paying over $50 for a nail trim just last week. And over $700 for her annual exam a few months back. I have no problem paying any amount of money to ensure the health and well being of my puppy, but to pay sky high prices and receive absolutely abysmal service and care is abhorrent and Cypress Creek Pet Care should be ashamed of themselves. read more

Excellent place to bring your furry loved ones! I take my cat, Arya, to see Dr. Holloway. Let me tell you right now: Dr. Holloway is a STAR! She's a skilled veterinarian, of course -- but she's also incredibly kind and puts both patients and pet parents at ease. All of my talks with her about treatment have been polite and informative. I trust her to give me all the details I need to make the best care choices for my pet and have never felt like she or CPPC were trying to up-sell or overcharge me for superfluous tests. Dr. Holloway helped me through when I thought Arya had contracted some terrible, fatal disease -- turns out it was just feline asthma. Who knew kitties could get asthma!? Dr. Holloway helped explain how to treat my baby's new coughing fits and asthma attacks, as well as helped me keep the cost of the inhaler as low as possible. The indoor area is closed now due to COVID, but has been clean and pleasant every time I've gone inside with Arya. They have a "cat section" in the waiting room, which is perfect since my cat gets nervous around dogs she hasn't met yet. All the staff have been nothing but nice whenever I make the trip, and probably most importantly, Arya feels safe and I know she's in good hands. If you're looking for a new vet, I recommend Cypress Creek Pet Care. I moved to Round Rock and still drive down to Cedar Park because they're just so awesome! I've been taking my dog here since I adopted her 3+ years ago and every veterinarian and staff member I've interacted with has been great!

Beware! I boarded my Boston terrier there over the weekend of the 4th. He had what's called an interdigital cyst that had lingered for a while and a couple of other allergy issues. I decided to have them take a look while he was there for piece of mind. I gave them vet records from two previous visits and let them know a steroid shot worked, but temporarily. I was picking him up later that afternoon and they decided it was a good idea to charge $40+ to stick his foot in a solution for 5 minutes as opposed to me doing it later. The appointment charge alone was $85+. The worst of it is their remedy showed 0 results for any of the three skin/interdigital cyst issue at hand. I spoke with a customer care specialist who had a Veterinarian give me a call. As opposed to giving advice to right what was wrong they basically said bring him back and we will not charge as much for the re-visit. What's sad is they had record of what at least somewhat worked and now the issue has progressed as opposed to get any better. It's sad because we took family pets here for years and they were amazing. This clinic has gone way down hill. Avoid if you are having non major issues with your pet unless you want to pay the price you would have to pay for somewhat invasive procedures that you would get at other clinics for an examination and prescriptions that don't help. read more

After researching a few rabbit vets when we moved to Texas and going to a couple of them, we decided to stick with Dr. Morelli at Cypress because she's been the best! We've made the 30 mins trip each way a handful of times now and I learn something new/useful about my bunnies and witness her going above a beyond expectations each time. This also speaks to Cypress Creek. They are not the only place I've gone to where the vet techs haven't handled bunnies before, and that's fine.. They typically see cats and dogs here, I understand. However, what makes these vet techs different from other places is that they aren't insecure about admitting it and they actually listen and learn about the right way to handle rabbits from the vet and/or me. Thank you for not being like another place and assume you can just treat them like cats/dogs. I really appreciate that. I came for Dr. Morelli initially but have had a good experience with the rest of the staff too. I heard of Dr. Morelli from people on the internet raving about her when she was at another location. So, she came to Cypress with a lot of experience, including having rabbits herself. She's always loved on our fur babies and held them close for inspections. She will sit down on the floor with them and hold them the way I would at home to inspect. (Which gets me to think "Cool, 'we treat your pets as I'd they were our own' isn't just a PR message they have."). I appreciate the attention to detail, offering to clip their nails )and making it look easy), and just providing great care!!!! Dr. Kim has saved both of my dogs more than once! Dr. Schubert saved my cat. The staff are all amazing. I've texted Dr Kim in a panic at 6am when one of my dogs ate an entire bottle of anti-inflammatory pills (I know, he shouldn't have been able to reach them, but he's like Houdini). She graciously answered me immediately and had me rush him to emergency vet. The staff there will also help you price shop medicines and let you know if you can obtain meds for less money elsewhere. I hesitate to write this review as I don't want the entire city going to Dr. Kim for fear that I won't be able to get in. LOL. But seriously, they are so compassionate and caring. My 100 pound senior dog got out this morning and guess who found him. Yup, Dr. Kim. I just wish they treated humans. read more

Doctors are wonderful! As far as the work environment specifically CSR's unprofessional. I started working their in October, barley made it through November due to the attacks I received from fellow CSR's. They hire the most unprofessional employees I have ever worked with. I've never worked for people who are so unpredictable, unprofessional, distraught and their capacity to hold a professional conversation is disarray and disparate as well as their knowledge and capabilities to understand common employee practices. I've spent over $20,000 at this vet, not because I wanted to but because our dogs have had a ton of issues. If it was most other veterinarians, that cost would easily be over $30,000. They've been extremely helpful and worked with us to keep costs down while being lifesavers to our pets. Dr. Kim has been fabulous as our regular veterinarian, and Dr. Bouloy has gone out of his way by shifting his schedule to help save our dogs. If this was a 10-star system, I'd give them 9 of 10, because the staff that got to know us and was so friendly has left. Their replacements haven't been as friendly and personable - they're not bad just not as nice as the previous people. I still highly recommend this vet for your dog(s). read more

I had an elderly cat with hyperthyroidism. He started to lose control of his bowels, was vomiting up entire cans of food in a stream of sludge, lost control of his back legs on occasion, and continued to drop weight despite being on a very high dose of thyroid medication (was 23lbs, down to 8 and dropping several ounces a week). The vet refused to talk to us about euthanasia, said she wouldn't consider it without a $1,000 exploratory surgery and more bloodwork (roughly $140 a month). I told her we couldn't pay for the surgery and pressed that he's in pain and needs to be let go. She continued to refuse, stating that if he's eating, he's thriving. Hello, Bueller? He's a hyperthyroid cat! They don't stop eating! We've never had many issues (outside of higher than average fees) with this vet until this incident. I am over the moon pissed off at the way we were treated - talking to down to me, refusing to help without payment, etc. It's as if they valued the bottom line rather than the comfort of our cat. I'd give one star, except that the boarding side of the center is actually quite nice, the front desk staff is excellent, and there are other vets in this clinic that you can choose to visit with that aren't harpies hellbent on charging you an arm and a leg to keep your cat suffering. read more

I rarely write reviews. However, after researching and angsting over the OSS for my Girl (Jack Russell), I found Dr Bouloy at Cypress Creek Pet Care. We drove 2-1/2 hours for Zoeys surgery. Upon checking in we were greeted and taken into the waiting room. They took Zoey back for her exam and to prep her for surgery. We went back to the hotel and got a text message telling us her labs were find and surgery had begun. We got updates and when the surgery was finished a text telling us Zoey was doing well. Dr Bouloy sent photos of the surgery, which we appreciated showing us how he took all the uterus and cervix out to avoid pyometra. This was a great relief to me. After driving home, the next day we received a call from the liaison, the nurse and Dr Bouloy inquiring about Zoey's progress. The Team was caring and knowledgable. I have every confidence in Dr Bouloy. I researched his history and it proved to be 100% spot on. I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to provide a more healthy spay (OSS) experience for their female or male family member. I only wish he was closer, he would totally be my vet for all needs. We first brought our dog here because this was the same vet his rescue group used and we decided to keep it consistent. I noticed how freaked out our new addition was to go into the vet but I figured this was probably his normal reaction. Well after the second visit, I understood his canine perspective. Watching the vet try to trim his nails was so painful I was seconds away from telling her to forget about it. She held him in a very awkward way and it was clear she wasn't comfortable around him (he's a wiener dog, so he's not a big awkward size). We came back for an assessment on his back leg, she took x-rays, and then told me she really didn't know what was going on. I mean, of course the answers to medical issues may not immediately present themselves and I completely get that - but she had no ideas, no tips, or anything. In fact, the first thing she said to me when we went to look at the x-rays was "here's his genitals." Um. Yeah. I know I have a boy dog... so can we move on to the issue I'm really worried about?! The best thing to come out of that appt. was a recommendation to a surgeon who was amazing and gave us a recommendation for a new vet. (Btw, the surgeon assessed his leg in about 5 minutes and said some crate rest was all that was needed! So happy I spent all that money on x-rays!) Everyone was friendly enough at the clinic, the space was clean, and the location convenient, but my personal experience was not fabulous. read more

Fans of the now defunct Highway 620 Animal Hospital will be fans of Cypress Creek Pet Care, since it's the same folks at a new, improved location. The vets I've dealt with here have all been gentle, kind and thorough with our dogs. When my current canine companion went in for a routine check-up, Dr. Kim happened to find a small cancer under her skin in an obscure location. She ran a quick biopsy and came back with the tough news and a plan for dealing with it quickly. Dr. Bouloy, the senior vet and practice owner, who does most of the surgeries, took care of my fortunate little friend, and even called me at home afterward to check on her. She is currently doing great and is back in action with a vengeance, dragging me on 3-mile walks through the neighborhood. With our previous long-time family dogs, Dr. Van Scoy was gentle and supportive as we had to deal with tough end of life issues. The vets' knowledge and manner, both with the humans and the animals, is impressive. I've also personally checked out their enlarged boarding facility, including two sections of dog runs in the back, and have left my dog with them for boarding. They accommodated us with her special food and need for a quiet area. She doesn't do well with separation from me (and who would, after all?), but she did pretty well at Cypress Creek, considering that the techs were vying for her affections. When I bring her in for check-ups, one will always remember her and come say hello. It's a good thing I'm not the jealous type. read more

When I awoke on March 23, our dog Charlie was panting heavily. He was pacing the floor and restless. He couldn't lay down because he couldn't breathe. We rushed him to another veterinarian who referred us to Cypress Creek. When we arrived both the doctor and a veterinary technician were standing outside waiting for us. I gave them Charlie and we were escorted to room #4. After what seemed like an eternity, Dr. Hopper told us the news. Charlie couldn't breathe without being in an oxygen cube made of Plexiglas. After an hour, he could no longer breathe in the cube either. We knew the dreaded day had come. It was time to say goodbye to our 14-year-old friend. Charlie was a half pug, half chihuahua mix. He was smart. He was funny (whenever my husband told him to roll over and play dead, you couldn't help but laugh!) He was chubby. He was courageous. He was a leader. He was loyal. Dr. Hopper handed Charlie to me wrapped in a blanket. He had received a sedative and was already woozy and in a twilight state. I kissed his forehead and told him I loved him and handed him to Joe. I cried so hard it took my breath away. Joe cried softly. Dr. Hopper injected the propanol (the pink stuff) into his IV. Charlie was looking at me and all of a sudden he looked in the distance. He was gone. All of the staff at Cypress Creek Pet Care were caring and compassionate. They were also supportive. We are forever grateful for them. read more

So I went in with two dogs, one with a UTI I thought and a nodule to check, looked like cancer, an eye that had some goo, looked like perhaps a scratch or irritation, nothing serious, and the other dog I thought needed a bordatella shot and wanted to set up teeth cleaning. I expressed my concern about cost right up front to both the vet and techs. Well the dogs were checked out, the 2nd dog actually did not need the shot but yes teeth cleaning was advised, and the first dog did indeed have a UTI and skin cancer in the nodule. The vet aspirated some other spots off of both dogs to make sure they were not cancer too. They totally looked like skin tags tho, and I was not worried about them. Since he was just taking a sample cells and looking in the microscope for them and didn't mention that there would be any extra cost, I thought this was all part of the exam process for the cancer cell detection. The bill for this visit - $500+ !!! Seriously. It did include medicine for the UTI and some eye drops, but that was it. This included no blood work, just the office visit, these two meds and a hell of a high charge to aspirate the nodule plus 3 other skin tags and look in the eye and apply wash drops. WTF?? $500? The vet knew I was concerned about cost as he kept talking to me about the possible cost of surgery for the skin cancer. Then why did he start aspirating these other spots charging me for each one, when they were very obviously NOT ANYTHING TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT. THEY WERE SKIN TAGS! I told them immediately I would not be coming back. Highway robbery here. Their estimates also for the teeth cleaning and surgery for skin cancer also are $300-500 more than the other vet I am now taking them to. I feel very taken advantage of. read more

I took my hounds to Cypress Creek Pet Care for several years while we lived in Texas. I was always extremely happy with the care they received from Dr. Bouloy. Dr. Bouloy was a very kind, thorough, and professional vet. He always took plenty of time with my dogs, and his gentle demeanor put all of us at ease right away. I trusted him completely and I am so glad we found him. And just a note about the finding him part, Cypress Creek was recommended to me by one of my instructors at The Austin Dog Alliance. I figure if anyone is going to know the best vet in town its probably them. The front desk staff at Cypress Creek were always kind and friendly as well. I have a small chihuahua who HATES getting her nails trimmed. I brought her In very hesitant because I have tried so many places and they all have struggled so much with her. I was really pleased with this place! kelly was the groomer & she came and spoke with me about what treats Chloe likes and explained how everything would work. I ended up having to go back with Chloe to hold her because she was fighting a lot but we were in and out within 10 mins. Kelly was very reassuring and calm with Chloe and they even offered her cheese to calm her! Very impressed. Definitely coming back! read more

Ozzy has been visiting this vet (previously Highway 620 Animal Hospital) ever since we brought him home from the shelter six years ago and we wouldn't think of taking him anywhere else. Each member of the staff we've been in contact with truly understands that a pet is a special part of the family. Ozzy has had trouble getting over an illness and just recently Dr. Bouloy aked us to bring him in for a secondary exam before leaving for an out of town trip. This means that Dr. Bouloy cared enough about Ozzy to make time in an already busy schedule to take another look in an attempt to further rule out things that might be causing this illness. I've been to many vets and CCPC is hands down the best. I've seen various doctors there since 2011 (all great) but Dr. Bouloy is our favorite and we see him whenever we can. He has helped us treat a variety of ailments and has a real knack with my cats (one in particular just adores him). CCPC won me over initially for a very important reason: they offer the services I need when I need them and never make me feel bad for my need to be there. Two of my animals are seen on a need to treat basis and one has routine preventative vet care. CCPC has never questioned my situation or pressured me into services I didn't want or need which I really appreciate. They have treated me and my animals seriously and kindly at every visit (including after hour emergency care) and I'm grateful to have found them. read more

We have had the best experience at Cypress Creek Pet Clinic. Dr. Kim takes a lot of time to answer all of my questions. She's very calm and the animals seem to be very calm with her. She looks our dogs over completely from head to tail to check for ticks or skin issues, which we really appreciate because our dogs are an extra large breed called Great Pyrenees.
