We came when it was slow but during the school year I'm sure this place is packed. They offer whole pies, slices, salads and more. You order at the counter and they will bring it out. Grab your own cups at the register too. They have the cool drinks and There is a full bar available. I have been dying to try a pickle pizza and I finally found one. It surprisingly works. The ricotta dollops and ranch drizzle really make the pizza.

Went on a Thursday for their special. Ordered online for pick up and arrived when the app said to. Got home 5 mins later and the pizza is cold and dry like it's been sitting in a warmer for hours. From the time of order to pick up to getting home was less than an hour. There's no way that slice is less than an hour old. I guess if you're going for their daily special be cautious, they must be pre-making items before they've been ordered. Called the store and not much was said.

Salty greasy goodness! They certainly don't scrimp on their pepperonis. Gumby's is a college area business that caters to likewise clientele. Non-college kids brace yourself for heartburn post pie enjoyment.

Gumby's is the best pizza place in town!! it's always a vibe when you go in with their staff, and their delivery drivers are amazing too! the food always gets delivered sooner than the tracking says !! best pizza place

Back when I attended TXST, I'd only tried the pepperoni rolls, which were good, but I never cared for them--I'm not a pizza person in general. Fast forward to this weekend: I visited San Marcos with a friend who had never been before, and she wanted pizza. We had a couple of options, but Gumby's was the more convenient choice. We decided to try two slices of the Pickle Rick, and this pizza was great! The flavor combination was perfect. My friend, who loves pizza, even said it was the best specialty pizza combo she's ever had. I couldn't agree more. It was so good that we ended up ordering a small one to take home. However, with the whole pizza we ordered, the crust is a tad thicker compared to the slices, we preferred the thinner crust. The service was nice and chill. Super friendly, and I even got my friend one of those special Gumby's cups as a fun little souvenir. The ambiance was laid-back with that cool college-town vibe--perfect for casual dining. Honestly, for someone who doesn't usually care about pizza, this was a one of a kind. I wish I'd discovered the Pickle Rick back when I was a student, but better late than never.

Whenever we first walked in we were greeted and told to take a menu since they don't have a board. I already knew what I wanted - someone had told me about the pickle rick I wasn't expecting much but basic dough and epic toppings. However, the pizza dough here is perfect. It's a perfect dough!! Has the mush and the crunch! I personally coulda gone without the ricotta, but still very interesting flavor and will definitely coming back to try other pizzas! Found our new laid back pizza place!

This pizza/wings/beer hall just a couple blocks away from Texas State was worth the visit. People are friendly as I mentioned it was my first visit and the young man up front went over my options either off the menu where they have your basic pizza (including a massive one) with a craft beer bar; as well as "other stuff" which include wings, calzones, etc. I will tell if I was back in college this would have been a go-to for me as it's possible also just to order a slice and be in and out cheaply (you can get a cheese slice for $3.29). It doesn't really have the optimal amount of TVs for me to consider it a sports bar but for just hanging out and/or studying on a Sunday night, this is a perfect place. With just my daughter and I we got the 12" pizza. They have specialty recipes already so that you can save brain cells. The blockhead at $14.99 makes for an easy choice for me as it's your basic meat lovers style. Crust is that perfect blend of cooked and dough-y with a great flavor. I also thought I'd give the wing a chance, in part because I didn't know if the pizza would be enough. Eight bone-in wings at $14.99 seems a tad high and I'd rather get the full pizza for that amount if I had to choose. But the chili flavor that I got was great. Turns out the pizza would have been enough as we had 3 pieces leftover so it's pretty decently filling. Turns out you have to order the beer separate from the food so I went to the bar to check out the craft beers. They had maybe 20 or so available. Being so close to Austin I thought what would be better than the McCanau-Haze. It's like an IPA that already has the orange squeezed in....I believe it was just under $6 for the glass. I could see this being a multi-purpose place for college kids, and turned out to be a decent, low-key place for local families that were there as well as maybe a parent visiting their kid close to campus. Few folks came in with the munchies so it was sufficient for them too....LOL....ahhhh college! It would be on my list to stop there again if my daughter decides to go to college in San Marcos.

Thin pizza compared to the pepperoni. Crazy

This place is the best pizza you can get in town. Maybe central Texas. I'm a loyal customer for several years. I have recommended this place to countless people. The staff is great and we love the service. Well, today I'm beyond mad. I spent over $60 here for large power house pizza, calzone, breadsticks. My pizza was paper thin. Not floppy New York style. I mean the damn pizza was thinner then the pepperoni. Had no structure and made a mess on my floor. This was not worth the price they charged. Picture shows the pepperoni thickness compared to pizza. Had to use a fork to eat the mess. Bought 9/28 Number 142

Do they offer a vegan option?

No, the only local pizzeria offering vegan cheese (if I recall correctly) is Pie Society.

We were excited to see that they had a few vegan options, which can be hard to come by sometimes. The open kitchen was fun to watch, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can really feel the positive energy as soon as you walk in. I ordered the Chana & Spinach, a traditional chickpea curry served with coconut rice, green chutney, and crispy papadum. It was delicious and definitely had some heat to it, which I enjoyed. My fiancé got the Curry Trio and loved every bite. We also shared the vegetable samosas, which are vegan, and by "shared" I mean I ate 2 1/2 and he had 1/2 ;) plus I ordered a Diet Coke. There wasn't a vegan dessert option, but my fiancé ordered the pistachio dairy pop and loved it. Everything was flavorful and fresh. My only small suggestion would be just a little more rice with the Chana & Spinach dish, but honestly, that's a minor thing. They have a nice outdoor seating area, which is perfect if the weather is warm enough. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

The bartenders are lead by the awesome Rene(i hope i'm spelling that right) and Miguel. I haven't learned the names of the others yet but I have never had an issue with any of them and they are always so polite. You can drink at the bar and even order food from the Taproom. Now for the bad or what needs to improve. The Porch used to have a nice outside 'porch' area with nice chairs and even porch swings. That I always felt was the selling point of this place as when sitting outside i would constantly hear passers by comment on the swings and even come in to sit on them. These have been replaced by very cheap metal chairs most of which are broken now and for some reason an elevated table with barstools which isn't in the porch motif. The interior used to have nice comfortable couches and chairs but pool tables have replaced those. Its fine I mean business change with new owners but it lost a little of what it was. I would be fine with all of that, except the outdoor chairs, if it wasn't so hot inside. The AC barely works if at all and half of the fans do not work so there is no air circulation and in Texas during the summer you want a nice cool place to relax. They need to fix the fans, cool off the interior and put some fans on the exterior. In the spring time, fall and winter its a great place to hang out, but until they fix the summer issues, I can't say. It is better than when they tried to be a disco club during the pandemic lol.

You can sit facing the street, inside with both a street view and TVs, or in the back where there are more TVs but a bit darker. It is definitely a cool bar with great drinks.

They call it a…read more"Roadhouse" which I guess is another word for "dive bar", but in the most flattering sense of the word. However, let me clarify. Jack's is not a hipster dive bar. You will not hear greasy-haired young men wearing their girlfriends' pants telling you about this place and how you've probably never heard of it because only people in the know really know about it. I can guarantee you that no one at Jack's has ever heard of Animal Collective, and nor do they care to. Jack's is a genuine Texas roadhouse. Being a Wednesday night, the crowd was small and there seemed to be a lot of regulars. The two gals working behind the bar were really friendly and stopped to talk with everyone sitting at the bar for a bit while still keeping up with people's drink orders. The atmosphere was as friendly as the bartenders, and by the end of the night everyone was joking with everyone else and pretty much just having a great time. Everyone who went up to sing karaoke was given a rousing round of applause afterwords, no matter how good or bad they might have been. People were smoking inside, but they have a lot of fans going and the ceilings are relatively high, so the air didn't seem that smoky. The decor inside kind of defies description, but let's just say that there were a whole bunch of bras and thongs glued to the ceiling above the bar and no explanation was offered as to why, though I didn't ask. I'll have to ask next time. After one visit, this place has become my favorite bar in San Marcos. I will definitely be going back. I might even eventually muster up the courage to sing at karaoke night.
