We've been regulars at Aviator Pizza & Drafthouse for years, but this was our first time hosting an event here, and I truly couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. We hosted our son's first birthday party here this weekend, and while we originally reserved space for a much smaller group, our guest list quickly grew to more than 60 people. The Aviator team handled it so graciously and made everyone feel welcome without missing a beat. They were incredibly accommodating from start to finish, allowing us to bring in decorations, balloons, and our cake and cupcakes to make the space our own. The staff was absolutely fantastic. Every single person was friendly, helpful, and attentive, making sure both we and our guests had everything we needed. They even let us hand out drink tickets so we could keep our bar tab within budget, which was such a thoughtful touch and made planning so much easier. The food, as always, was a huge hit. We had countless people comment on how good the pizza was, and the space couldn't have been more perfect for our Top Gun-themed party. We had lots of little ones celebrating with us, and the outdoor playground kept them entertained for hours while the adults enjoyed the great beer selection and watched the World Cup match on the TVs. It really was the perfect setup for guests of all ages. We can't thank the Aviator team enough for helping make such a special day so easy and stress-free. We'll absolutely continue coming back as regular customers, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Aviator to anyone looking for a fun, relaxed place to host a gathering or celebration. Pizza & beer yes please. I'm not beer connoisseur, but I think there is enough choice that you would find one you like here, the list was long. I tried Japanese rice beer. I personally have never seen that offered anywhere so that's how I chose it. I really appreciate they had 2 vegetarian options for calzones. I tried the spinach feta. It was really good. Ratio of dough to filling was just right. Feta can have strong flavor but again they got ratio right to where it wasn't overpowering yay. The crust has light garlic flavor, I actually like garlic so next time would likely add roasted garlic as a topping for inside to give it an extra boost of flavor. Lots of indoor and outside seating. We went on a Saturday evening and it was buzzing. Indoors was loud so we sat outside. There is playscape for kiddos, can see why it's popular for families. Definitely saw wide demographic here so it's nice neighborhood type of pizza joint. One improvement I might suggest is serving the red sauce dip warm. read more

Been having a big craving for a Italian grinder and remembered that Aviator had a pretty good one. It's been a long time since we've stopped in. Glad we did. Because the beer list has vastly improved since our last visit. The Italian grinder exceeded my taste expectations. It was also nice that the general manager stopped by and introduced himself and even cleaned the table. Most impressive about the beer list is that everything was Texas beers. Will definitely have to come back for happy hour and try out some Brews and pizza. read more

Lots of space indoors and outdoors. It's part of a plaza, makes me wonder if there's enough parking spaces. There's a playground and a few trees that kids can climb, which is helpful to keep them entertained. The QR code ordering did not work, but I was able to look at the menu online and go in and order. They bring out the food when it's ready. The crust is a little on the sweeter side, markedly different than other crusts around town. I really liked it. I like how you can get a 9" for around $12, which is a perfect personal pizza. read more

I'll start out by prefacing that I'm a huge pizza snob. Aviator ticks the boxes on variety, delicious food, an easy ordering system, service that is efficient, and a great indoor/outdoor vibe that's great for kids and adults alike! The playground is simple but the gated grounds allows you to enjoy a cold brew without worrying about a little one wondering off. They have a large selection of reasonably priced beers and they come out quick. The pizza, while very good, does leave a little to be desired. It's very close to Pinthouse in style and size and one could almost suggest that they are sister pizzerias. Ultimately the crust is a rather floppy and just needs a slightly hotter stone to bake to perfection. Honestly my only critique as these are nice pies! It's a great time with live music and an overall a happy and wholesome vibe. Will I go back? It's a maybe as the scene and convenience for kiddos is pretty unmatched in the ATX pizza world but better pies exist. Weighing the pros/cons of pizza vs. kid friendly- Aviator takes the cake. read more

Update- I appreciate the reply from the owner immensely. It shows that there is something to what I was stating about the parents. Since I wrote this I have gone back And I do agree with the owner. The stuff is really amazing and does great work. I'm still just taken back by how many of the families choose to not engage with their children playing. Over all that is very much more a me thing vs the location. I have just decided to not venture during the weekends when many families over take the space. read more

Second time around!! This was my second time trying Aviator Pizza. This was my first time coming in person. I love the laid back family friendly atmosphere. The service was good and didn't take very long. I ordered the Ground Control. It was really good ! My pizza was full of toppings and I can tell the toppings were good quality. I also loved the texture and thickness of the crust. Also I love that I can see the pizza being made. The staff definitely work together as a team to get everything done! This place is fire, I don't have much else to say beyond that. You can tell by the way the pizza came out that it was going to be good. We had a pretty big group and I don't think anyone left hungry. We really enjoyed our pizza. It was our first visit, so we weren't familiar with the menu or sizes, so we were happy to find the counter employee to be friendly and helpful in making our pizza decision. The pizza arrived with a good deal of ham and pepperoni--it was nice to see that they weren't stingy on the proteins. The texture of the crust was enjoyable--I ate crust and all! Also, the red sauce fit well with the cheese and toppings. The dining room is large and the tables can accommodate large groups. They're is also setting outside that does the same. The only drawback inside are the chairs. They are metal high backs, no cushions. I can't imagine spending the evening with friends, just enjoying the beer and atmosphere, after dinner because I don't want to sit in those chairs for a long time. read more

Dynamite happy hour deals and highly reasonable prices outside of that. You've got vegan cheese and loads of unique toppings to chose from, not to mention the almost overwhelming number of taps for those who imbibe. The people here are wonderful, too; I ordered pizza for pickup and was told it would be late, but for my patience, was offered free soda while I waited. A perfect example of good customer service, if you ask me! It's a really great hangout spot. Seems like there are regular trivia nights and other meetups. Went here with the kids for pizza and a draft. Big, spacious, airy, fun garage like place with plenty of long tables. Huge selection of drafts and varies pizza selection. We order 3-4 different types and it was good, the dough was okey and toppings are great, it brought the tasty of the pizza - I'm a dough guy so was hoping for a great one. The pizza here is pretty good. The service, beer selection and amenities make it a 5 star rating. Nothing else to say about the food - pretty good. But they have a very wide and rotating beer selection, which is nice. But even better is the staff is knowledgeable and can help navigate the large menu with recommendations and small trial sips. The indoor and outdoor facilities are both large seating areas. Outside has a playground for kids that is mostly shaded by the trees. There are also several seating options by the playground, under the trees. Lastly, they host weekly trivia! The indoor/outdoor combo with speakers is a great set up. The sauce was tangy and well-balanced, and the prosciutto and goat cheese toppings added great flavor without overpowering the pie. Okay, so let's talk about Aviator. Whenever I try a new Pizza joint I always take the basic, a plain Pepperoni Pie. I also took a box of cheesesticks because the photography and people's other pictures sold me on them. I was shocked at how quick everything was ready. I was down there in 15 minutes or less and the pizza and cheesesticks were being boxed up as I walked in. Flawless and outstanding service. I also have had bad experiences in the past so I checked to make sure my order was correct and the staff had no issues with me doing so. I admit, the fact that it was a drafthouse had me worried the food wouldn't be the best. But the second I walked inside? Incredible smell. The overall quality? For the Pizza, I'd call it good, very good, not the absolute best. The crust could be cripsier, and I wish there was more pepperoni, but these are nitpicks and should not dismiss the quality of the work. But the cheesesticks? Some of the best I've ever eaten, perfect Marinara Sauce, and a generous portion size. If nothing else, get these cheesesticks. read more

I called the restaurant after arriving in Austin to find out if their vegan cheese had any nut ingredients due to other allergies in the family, and the gentleman that answered the phone said "no problem!" We ordered a pepperoni basil pizza, cheesy bread and a calzone to go. All exceeded expectations! The amount and quality of cheese on the tasty bread was delightful. .y 2 year old polished off a couple slices with a big smile. The calzone was flavorful and huge. Really disappointed in the meal I got today at Aviator. My friend loves their pizza and I know thats what your supposed to go for but she was getting the south austin pizza so I got the zilker salad since it was very similar and I cant eat the pizza. My pile of lettuce had a bunch of craisins but literally 1 ripped up piece of prosciutto and a couple pieces of goat cheese. I was like....I paid over 15$ for this?? Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves under the trees. A number of kids were playing. It is a great picnic type setting with many picnic and round tables to use. Customer service was really fast, friendly, cordial and helpful. The pizza and salad we ordered was absolutely delicious!! We ordered the Spinach and Artichoke with added full garlic and chicken on 1/2 and pepperoni on the other 1/2. The only negative, which is minor, was the crust bottom needed to be cooked more. No crispiness on the bottom and sagged. A bit doughy. We split a Zilker salad with that oh so good Cabernet dressing! Full of flavor! Definitely recommend. I will be back to try more pizzas! I like the fact I have vegan options and I can make a gluten-free crust. The weight staff was very helpful and the price is reasonable now I don't like how the toppings are up charge and the toppings are very tiny amount for the Up charge. I don't think that's fair so I stopped doing the added toppings for Up charge because of the price and the amount that you get for it to me it's just not worth it. You do have to order it inside because otherwise you just have to pay right away through online because they don't like you paying when you get there after you order on the phone They won't let you do that. I met two of my friends here for some food and drinks. Parking is a shared lot, so definitely plenty of spaces. I ordered cider, they had at least six ciders on draft which is really nice. There's also plenty of other drink options to include alcohol, soda, and water. I am gluten and dairy free so I got their gluten-free Hawaiian pizza made with vegan cheese. Overall, the pizza was pretty tasty. Only thing I don't like is that you have to get a 12 inch pizza if you want gluten-free. It was just me that was eating, so that's quite a bit of pizza. My friend got regular pizza. They also really enjoy their pizza. There is an outdoor patio area, they were doing trivia the night I went. It was very busy for a Wednesday night. Local pizza place with lots of draft beer options. My in laws like to come here because they have amazing salads. Yes, i said salads at pizza place. But they have great "big salads" if that's your vibe. Service is always pretty quick, though on weekends they do get busy with families and kids, lots of kids. 1st time checking out Aviator Pizza & Drafthouse on Saturday, 09/09/2023 & I really enjoyed myself. The pizzas were sooooooo delicious & made fresh. They even have dessert pizzas..yes, folks..dessert pizzas!! (See the delicious pics included in this review). I definitely would recommend this location because not only do they offer great food, the service was 5+ stars, there's plenty of seating both indoors and outside, it's great for adults w/ it being a drafthouse w/ so many beers, ciders, ect on tap to choose from & tvs to watch sports, and great for kids w/ the outdoor playground.
