Good food, ok staff, nice location located next to the brewery. The pizza definitely has amazing flavor

    The Tom Garlicchio 12"
    Jacqueline P.

Ordered from this truck while enjoying a flight of beer at Hop Squad. My friend and I split 12" The Tom Garlicchio and added regular cheese (they have vegan cheese as well). The portion size was perfect for sharing and seemed larger than other 12" pies I've seen elsewhere. I liked the addition of parsley and capers (why don't more pizzas have capers?) though I wish there was a bit more of the toppings present. The cheese was delicious and while the tomato sauce tasted fresh, it seemed to be lacking any sort of seasoning and just tasted like tomato to me. The crust was ok, more spongey than doughy. Service was friendly and informative and it didn't take too long to get our pizza out. Lots of ample seating at the brewery. Prices were modest and according to my friend they have the nicer individual packets of Parmesan.

    The Chismé

Dough Squad is Austin's newest pizza joint and they're already a top 3 in my book. I got two 12" pizzas: - The Chismé: red sauce, cheddar, mozzarella, Oaxaca cheese, parmesan, lemon zest, and parsley - this was phenomenal! I like how flavorful it was with the 4 different cheeses. It wasn't heavy either as the amount of cheese is a standard amount. The lemon zest adds this small bright kick with each bite and honestly I have 0 complaint. $14. (5/5) - The Funguy: cilantro mornay (a creamy, cheesey sauce base with cilantro), mozzarella, mushrooms, shallots, and lemon zest - I don't like mushrooms, but this pizza could convert me. Great flavor, great texture. A great choice if you want a white pie. $14 as well. (4/5) All in all, I was highly impressed with this spot. They cook them very well and give them a great texture and structural integrity. (AKA, they aren't greasy or the ingredients don't fall apart) With the pizzas at 12" and $14, they come out to be some of the most affordable pizzas in town and given the high rating I gave them, they would be the best bang for your buck in terms of value! With that said, I give them a strong 4.5/5 for being amazing!

Very unique and delicious pizzas. You won't be disappointed! Not sure if they are always at Hopsquad brewery but for sure going to check next time I'm around the area.

We love Doughsquad. The pizza is what you need when you need it. We aren't hating on Doughsquad. But it must be said. The fried pickles need work. Individually there are some great elements to them. The breading is tops. The temperature is amazing. I've never had pickle spears that didn't scald my mouth upon first bite, and these are perfectly warm without dipping in either extreme. But the pickles lack flavor and have an odd aftertaste. The dipping sauce leaves one wanting for ranch dressing, though it pairs well enough with the breading. Truth be told, I didn't finish a single pickle. The combination of it all was too sweet and my heart craves the salt and sour of what one comes to expect of a fried pickle. My friend picked out the pickles and ate the breading. We love you, Doughsquad. Change the pickles.

Stopped in on a random Wednesday afternoon and grabbed the Kramer Lane Papi. Perfectly crisped crust with delicious (and real) pepperonis accompanied by delectable sausage topped with goat cheese & pickled red onions. All added up to one amazing pie. Empanadas on menu but did not have, however will definitely be back to check those out. Enjoying on a 70 degree January day with a tasty, cold beer really can't be beat. Highly recommend!

We had the chisme pizza with a flight from hop squad and a matador. Delicious. It's thin pizza but tasted good. Will get it again when i go back for a beer

The food truck is based at Hop Squad. The pizza was pretty greasy. I ordered the pineapple pizza, which surprisingly didn't have much pineapple Although it's nice to be able to enjoy a beer and pizza.

Pepperoni pizza and beer. My favorite meal!

It's a large food trailer at the corner of Metric Blvd and Cedar Bend Dr in North Austin area. I got The Awakening burger from their "Forbidden Menu" which has a bunch of different bold burgers. The Awakening definitely lived up to its name since the deep fried battered jalapeño and the Awakening sauce are very spicy (and delicious). The patty isn't huge and is a smash burger style, but the burger was filling and bun was very fresh tasting. I even ran into a nice guy at the window for the pickup and we recognized each other from when he was a manager at Sonic. He's definitely at a much better place now with Buddha Burger! They also have a picnic table area with some shade if you choose to eat before you got the road again. And the corner isn't too loud, I'm fact they even had some music playing.

This instantly became my favorite burger spot around after my first visit. The staff are always kind, the food comes out fast, and everything I've had has been consistently amazing. The Cajun fries are a must. They're packed with flavor and have just the right amount of kick. I've worked my way through pretty much the whole menu at this point, including several burgers and even the chicken sandwich's, and honestly it's all been ridiculously good. The burger patties are flavorful, juicy, and perfectly greasy in the best possible way. The Nirvana sauce takes everything to another level and has become mandatory for me anytime I go. My personal favorite is the California Classic, and I always get the double because it's just too good not to. It's definitely one of those indulgent meals you try not to have too often, but every time I cave and go back, it completely delivers.

They said it would be about 20 minutes for food since they were slammed, but I appreciate knowing it was made to order, so no problems there. Tried the Kaeng Panaeng and it was good overall. Huge portion size but wasn't quite what I was expecting. Salad was pretty standard but I'm glad they kept it separate so it wouldn't wilt from the heat. As for the chicken, I was hoping by itself it would be more thai inspired/marinated/seasoned but it's effectively just chopped up chicken tenders to be dunked in the curry. The curry is flavorful, albeit a bit watery, which I wish was reduced a bit. But if curry is not your thing, my friend's Kai Zabb was very good: tangy, sweet and heat all at once, so good to really switch up bites. And while I wasn't expecting sticky rice, I can't help but say it's the first time I've had thai fried chicken without it. All in all, I think its a great new place to try out, but if you've had thai fried chicken before, just temper your expectations.

Cousin's Maine Lobster Truck is a weird experience…read more It was fun to do once. I am probably not going to follow the truck from town to town so I never miss a single chance to get a lobster roll. * * * Cousin's Maine Lobster is a franchise of very very mobile trucks that sell lobster rolls. They also sell other lobster-on-top-of-stuff dishes. Their gimmick which I am not sure is a plus is to have no fixed location. They publish a list of places where the truck will be every week - generally one location for lunch and the other location for dinner. The Central Texas Truck could be anywhere from Georgetown to San Antonio. You can't just go there when you want unless you are willing to drive from Austin to San Antonio or San Antonio to Georgetown to get your lobster roll. * * * One consequence of being eternally mobile is that the truck has no regular or guaranteed access to a bathroom. You go to a brick and mortar restaurant - and the health code will require that that restaurant have a bathroom. Most food courts have some sort of bathroom - either one owned by the food court or one in a gas station or convenience store near the food court. Cousin's has nothing. So you not only have to plan ahead for when the truck is going to be within driving distance of you ... but you also have to plan to have done all of your personal business BEFORE you go to order from the truck. I do NOT consider this to be a positive feature. * * * There is also the issue of WHERE you eat your lobster preparation once you have received it. You could eat in your car. (For Samuel C that means a guaranteed necessary trip to a car wash.) There was almost no place to sit near where Cousins was located my day which was in the Yuppie complex of apartments near Oracle near Riverside. The park near where the truck was stationed has no park benches. I found ONE bench on the street mercifully provided by an apartment complex. Without that one bench I would have been scroodled. * * * I am from New England and have lots of experience with lobster. My personal opinion is that the way to eat lobster is boiled with a vast quantity of melted butter for dipping. The downside of a lobster roll is that the bread hides the taste of the lobster. This makes your investment in expensive raw materials kind of a waste. Mixing lobster with stronger tasting ingredients - which is what Cousin's does on the dump-ons - allows the stronger tasting ingredients to compensate for the diminished lobster experience. This is the way to go with Cousins. I did a Lobster On Tater Tots With Sauce concept and was not displeased. * * * Lobster should be boiled fresh from the fishing boat and eaten right on the spot. (For a related concept, see corn on the cob.) This is why people go to Maine for lobster and why clambakes with the shellfish just obtained an hour before the clambake make good sense. Shipping your lobster from Maine to Texas isn't terrible since the lobster is in water. Taking the lobster out of the shell and making raw ingredients for your lobster roll or lobster taco has started the clock ticking. As it happens ... The lobster gets old and stronger. This actually turns out to be a plus if you are dumping your lobster on tater tots. Eating old strong fish is an institution in Korean cooking. They like mackerel and other potent fish that pack a pow ... And aging the fish provides a taste Koreans really like. With lobster, aging gives you an ingredient that can stand up to being mixed with other ingredients. * * * This is all well and good. But it is not fresh lobster straight off the boat boiled and served in its natural goodness with only melted butter for a garnish. Some regional foods just don't travel.
