Well it was time for my girlfriend's birthday dinner and she decided she was in the mood for Korean barbecue and after her exploring this is the place she decided on. It's located in Hurst in a little strip mall that's mostly empty but you can see the concentration of business and cars in the corner on the side where this restaurant is, when we first walked in we both noticed a bit of a strange smell like I would describe as mildew and I think that's because they were running two portable air conditioner units inside so I don't think this is something that's on the regular and after we sat down neither of us noticed it again. As we walked in I also noticed That this place has a nice little cozy feel to it with some interesting decor, beautiful paintings on the wall and kind of an old school feel which I enjoy, there's an upstairs section that's pretty cool looking also where you can have private events or family style gatherings. Right off the bat the service was very friendly and attentive, we ordered two appetizers the shrimp Yakitori and an order of the pork and vegetable egg rolls both appetizers were fresh and delicious, I also had upon the servers recommendation their honey lemon ice tea which was very good. For our entrees My girlfriend ordered the spicy beef bulgogi and I ordered the spicy pork bulgogi, our food came out in a timely manner and was fresh and hot. The portion size was very good and I was happy to see the ratio of meat to vegetable was about 90% meat to 10% vegetable which is what I expect in a bulgogi. We ordered DoorDash and had a horrendous experience... spent over $120 and didn't even get a full refund... 1. Dolsot Bibimbap had plastic in it!!! My wife was eating and spit something out and upon examination it was a large amount of plastic... please see the pics. Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable! Beware... 2. Bulgogi meat was bland and the meat was poor quality and tough. Definitely not authentic tasting (my mother's Korean and I lived there for 3 years). It was a generous portion but the quality and taste was probably the worst I've ever had. 3. Only Korean restaurant that doesn't give the side dishes complimentary... all good, but I paid for a side of kimchi (Koreans would cringe on this) and I didn't even receive it! 4. Ddokboki was over $20 and didn't have but one piece of fish cake or odaeng. Pretty knarly. The taste wasn't bad, tho. Perhaps, they cater to a Hurst community that doesn't know Korean food... This place is fine. It's a bit dark inside but beautifully decorated and definitely a different vibe from what you think you're getting based on the outside of the building. It must have been a quiet night here as I was one out of maybe 3 diners at 6pm on a Saturday night. But once greeted, the service was friendly and for the most part left me alone. I ordered the seafood tofu soup and an appetizer of pork belly skewers. Had a fantastic Sunday dinner at Yori in Hurst. Every time we come back it's a memorable visit and we leave stuffed! On this visits order we had egg rolls, fried calamari (our favorite), seaweed soup (on the house, such a nice gesture), and the Grilled Bossam. Everything was so good. I loved the seaweed soup. It was super hot and comforting and I loved the salty broth and velvety seaweed. The Grilled Bossam is grilled pork belly with different salads- cucumber, a shredded lettuce with a sweet vinegar dressing, and bean sprouts. Along with the 6 sides of different pickles and fermented veggies and steamed rice. We left so full and happy! We also took a lot of our food home. The service and atmosphere is impressive. I love the vibe of the restaurant- it's dim and intimate. Great for a date night (and perfect for Valentine's Day- we went one year and it was fantastic!) I would recommend Yori over and over again! What a darling little restaurant the outside doesn't do it justice Yori is so pretty. I love the wall murals, dim lighting and romantic decor. The food is good. I had the Bulgogi Bibimbap and the bulgogi was very good, the rest of the ingredients were fine although. I did wish the spicy sauce on the table would have been more flavorful but overall I'm happy with the dish and would order again. Service was polite and accommodating. I found the radish appetizer to be overpriced and I didn't like or understand the spices sprinkled on top. If this restaurant can unite with the other businesses on this strip to get the parking lot updated this little dining and retail corner has tons of potential. I'm a sucker for Bibimbap. The Bulgogi Bibimbap did not disappoint. The stone bowl ( $1upcharge ) kept the dish smoking hot until the very end. I also ordered Eggrolls for an appetizer. They were good as well. Service was prompt, and they kept checking in at about the appropriate pace. This is a small, dark, quiet place. I can't really think of another place similar to compare it to. Good for singles, or date night. There is one long table good for a gathering. read more

This may seem harsh but I was disappointed with the food here. Initially excited this was closer than going to Dallas or Carrollton but I'll make that extra drive next time. Sundubu jjigae ( soft tofu stew)- 2 out of 5 stars : no option to select level of spice and it was way too spicy. Not the full of flavor spicy but the lack of flavor in the broth so just add lots of gochugaru ( korean red pepper spice). Seafood was lacking and filled with mostly green onions. Side dishes were flavorless except for the pickled cucumbers. I look forward to these side dishes when I get Korean food. Galbi ( spare ribs)- 4 out of 5 stars: a tad on the pricey side 29.99 for this dish. Chicken Katsu ( fried chicken cutlet)-3 of 5 stars. Rice: 2/5 stars. tough to make this wrong ? We're so glad to have found a Korean spot nearby, it's so much more convenient and actually quite tasty. The restaurant may seem a bit dark when you first walk in, but don't be intimidated. There are plenty of seating and even an event space available on the second floor. It's BYOB but we totally forgot, will fix that next time! We ordered the ddukbokkie with mandu & galbie plate. The ddukbokkie was delicious and the sauce was great over rice (which came with galbie). It was slightly spicy but not overbearing. The galbie came with rice and banchan so overall the portion was very generous. The meat was grilled well and very juicy. When you first walk in you can see it's a small restaurant but it does have second floor which I've not seen. It was a little bit dark but enough lighting to see the menu and the food so it was still good. We ordered the spicy edamame for appetizers. Then Galbi, Spicy Pork Bulgogi and Japchae for our main entree. Our Korean bbq orders came with white rice and were told that we can request for 1 (free) more bowl of rice person if we wanted more of it and it also came with 6 banchan (sides). The food was great, my cravings were satisfied. We finished the spicy edamame immediately. There were plenty of food left for to go that I requested for the 2nd bowl of rice for to go with my galbi leftovers. My boyfriend finished his spicy pork bulgogi which he confirmed the food was delicious. I think the Japchae tasted better the next day after the noodles absorbed all the sauce. The ambiance is cute and makes you feel like you're actually dining on a little patio somewhere. It's a good place for a casual lunch or even a relaxed date dinner. We've been here twice but I am just now getting around to writing my review. So my husband and I had never had Ramyeon and we felt silly asking the server if it was similar to Ramen, but she kindly explained that it was a spicier Korean take on the Japanese dish. The food came out pretty quickly and was piping hot (a good thing!). The dish was certainly much spicier than what we expected and I LOVED it. I came here several years ago, and only recently came back after reviewing what looked like a new menu on yelp. Turns out this really is an authentic Korean restaurant. I am so glad because we usually travel to Carrollton for authentic Korean food. The spicy pork Bulgogi was on point, the soy pork belly was amazing though I did miss the lettuce wraps which would've made great Ssam. The ttoekboki is very spicy, just like we had in S Korea. One of our favorite items was the seaweed soup, definitely the best we've had in the area. They are so generous with the seaweed, and the broth is amazing! Love Yori when I am craving some soontofu soup. Ordered ddukbolkki and soon tofu and loved both of these! The soup was very spicy and flavorful with the perfect amount of tofu. I probably would not get the seafood option again because the seafood in it was not very appealing. They have plentiful options for meat dishes, but those are pretty pricey. The ambiance here is nice and service was friendly. Went on Sunday for lunch and the waitress was very sweet despite taking care of all of the tables there.
