Avis beats the piss out of enterprise always upgrade me when they don't have the class I ordered

I had open-ended travel dates on multiple trips due to family matters, and the Avis staff in Corvallis were so flexible and accommodating. Tiffany and Cheree, in particular, were thoughtful and kind as they took care of my evolving needs. I appreciated how they took the time to find the most economical and convenient way to extend my rentals and adjust drop-off locations, and how quickly they provided a replacement copy of my rental agreement after I lost the original. My only suggestion for improvement would be to add Sunday hours. read more

They are always very patient n kind with me. The cars are exactly the ones I wanted. I was even reimbursed for gas bc I put more in then what was in the car when I picked it up. Easy night drop off, with a quick response of car recieved. read more

This location failed on every level to provide any customer service or support, especially in response to their own error. We reserved a luxury premier SUV to accommodate 7 adults and 7 suitcases. This reservation was made approximately 6 weeks in advance in anticipation of spring break and a family holiday/ road trip. We arrived the day before our scheduled departure as planned and were told that they did not have a vehicle as we specified and reserved. The clerk merely directed us to smaller incompatible vehicles and then dismissed us, claiming it was spring break. She merely shrugged it all off. She did not attempt to contact other locations, or assist in providing any options, including a possible waitlist for cancellations. The hours of phone calls to the corporate office did not provide any further assistance. This location continued to brush us off, asserting we could just call the following day and talk to a manager. Despite our continued loyalty to Budget for travel around the US, we will not rely on them again for our travel needs or recommend Budget to others. read more

Everyone that I dealt with at this location was super nice. Picking up and dropping car off were a breeze. I got a great deal on a monthly rental through Priceline and was very happy with it overall. I do wish it wasn't so expensive to drop off at a different location but that's a company-wide thing, I'm sure. It's not the Corvallis employees' fault. If I was ever back in the area and needed a rental, I wouldn't hesitate to go through this location. read more

TERRIBLE service and manager. The other guy who helped me the 3 or 4 times I rented in the past couple of months was great, but dealing with the "manager" makes you wish you had rented elsewhere. Long story short, the 4th rental here (and my last), the manager lady (forget her name, but seems to be the only lady working at this location), in what I would call a very shady way, gave me a car I had booked through expedia for like 30$/day. I had to extend a day, and when I called her, she just said, "it will be extended at the same rate as the rest of the days" which to me meant at the same great expedia price. Little did I know that she meant the 49.99$ bs price that was printed on the contract 5 days earlier. I understand that it is technically my fault as it was written on contract, but I called her to avoid having to look at the contract thinking they what they would tell me would be true and correct. It was not and when I attempted to explain to her this situation and ask to have the balance adjusted (considering I rented regularly from them and they knew it), but it was a waste of time. She basically acted like getting an extra 49.99 was beneficial to her company when in fact it only drove a customer or two away. Thank you for making me try enterprise. You guys should work there. They have a much better sense of customer service and overall better understanding of what it is to help a customer so they come back, not just gauge them for bs charges ... NEVER AGAIN. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND JUST GIVE SALLY A TRY AT ENTERPRISE. 180 degree difference. 541.758.0000. Terrible Customer Service! When I picked the car up I was told I had to put my full social security number in their computer system because I only had a debit card. However, the rental was prepaid. My coworker offered to give her credit card and he refused to take it. I returned the car with a full tank of gas but because I didn't have my gas receipt they were going to charge me a $14 gas fee. I was never told to bring in a receipt for my gas. The lady at the counter was so rude! A full tank is a full tank. Saving a few dollars is not worth the hassle!! Use Enterprise! read more

I just turned in another rental car from Avis. I again rented a fabulous Ford Fusion at the Avis office in Corvallis, Oregon. I could rent a car from another agency closer to where we stay but the service at the one in Corvallis is the best! Always a smile, a positive word, and great advice from the owner/chief worker!! Rented an economy car online and were slated to get a Hyundai Accent. We upgraded to a Ford Focus, again online, for 90 cents a day. When we arrived at Avis, they didn't have a Ford Focus, so they upgraded us to a crummy VW that got poor gas mileage (29 mph on the highway) and was quite small in the cab. They charged us $5 more a day "because the car is bigger." Then they tried to hard sell a ton of additional options even after being provided with our comprehensive insurance information and being told that both our regular insurance and our credit cards covered liability. They even tried to sell us Road Side Assistance which makes me wonder if they don't actually help you if their car breaks down while you're renting it. The staff at the front desk wasn't even friendly about all of this. Note that they run both an Avis and a Budget Car Rental out of this location. The prices are different (Avis is more expensive), but the cars are the same. I won't be using this business again. Enterprise in town is much, much better. read more

single-handedly the WORST customer service i've encountered, in ANY context, ANYWHERE. why? the car we reserved online wasn't available. no offer to upgrade, fine, things happen, but no apology was offered & the poserly dreadlocked kid watching the shop made absolutely no attempt at providing solutions, just a surly attitude. i get it-you live in a college town & work at a rental car place, clearly your life hasn't turned out the way you hoped, but that doesn't mean you don't have to actually do your job-or it does, apparently. after we explicitly asked what else was available, the wannabe hipster clerk begrudgingly told us there was a compact; we accepted this option only to then be told 5 minuters later that, alas, it wasn't available. AND I QUOTE: "if you could come back tomorrow that would work a lot better." at this point i told the kid to eff off & we walked out. i strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

Customer service is not their forte. We had a car reserved under my husband's name and when he didn't make the trip Avis refused to let me take the car. Even refused to cancel that reservation and re-issue under my name because they had overbooked. I would have been stranded if it weren't for Julie at Hertz overhearing my plight and finding me a car. Hertz has a customer for life. Customer service really matters. read more

Excellent service and real nice. Call (Corvallis number) to arrange after hours drop-off. Unlike the "other" car rental agency, Corvallis Avis won't screw you for an extra day (s) when you drop the car during closed hours (Sunday, holidays) - be sure to write the day/time of the dropoff and include with the key. read more

Service was excellent. Thank you Cherie. We rented what I thought would be a Ford Mustang, for pick-up at Portland Airport. We got a hideous yellow Camero (ticket magnet). The next day while passing through Corvalis, we called the local office to see about a change of cars for the balance of our one week trip. Much to my surprise the agent was most accommodating, and we were promptly off in a great Toyota SUV. It would have been so easy for Cherie to have just said "no can do". Rented car one way from another location, return was fast and easy, staff was professional

This is the worst car rental place ever! My advise is to stay away not worth your time! Let me go ahead and give you a sneak peak on how worthless this place is....... I booked a car for pick-up at 10:00am only to find out my car hadn't arrived. I was told we forgot to call but your car should be in soon. That should've been my cue to leave but no in good faith I trusted them and left as they stated my car would be in at 1:00pm. I then received a phone call at 12:52pm saying sorry they sent the wrong car... Really? I asked what can we do this car is for my family's trip to Disneyland and they put me in a jam I asked if there was anything they could do. I even came up with an idea if they would be willing to give me a discount on 2 car rentals (which would mean more gas and another person having to drive) they replied with the manager is on vacation... I was so mad..... Because I work in retail all I said was fine. But Karma! read more
