I walked into Avis Car Sales ready to buy a car that same day -- I had $30,000 cash saved and was serious about purchasing. The price listed online seemed fair, but once I sat down to talk numbers, I learned there's an automatic $4,000 up-charge added to every car on top of the advertised price. That alone felt misleading, but what made the situation worse was the attitude and lack of effort from the staff. When I asked why the price was so much higher than what I saw on the website and if we could work something out, the response I got was basically "that's the car you picked." No attempt to understand my budget, no offer to show me other options, and no willingness to actually earn my business. I purchased vehicle from this location even though communication was spotty at best and dealership fees were exorbitant (overcharged even for fixed cost things such as state registration and title)...vehicle was not detailed, like looked as if had just been off-roaring. upon arrival and had cosmetic issues not displayed in photos. Two months later my vehicle still isn't registered. I have reached out several times with no reply from anyone at dealership. There is no way to contact anyone from corporate level as corporate line is created not to have to interact. When finally getting in contact with my sales person Mauricio he advised he would work on it and send me a temporary extended tag. That was a month ago, guess what still don't even have a temp tag, so driving is illegal. This place is unprofessional my advice is to stay far away. Update It is now close to 4 months since my vehicle purchase and I have yet to have my title and tag paperwork completed. I can not get in touch with anyone at Avis sales in Orlando or corporate offices, if you call location get looped to a full voicemail. My original sales person Mauricio only reply's by text on what appears to be a personal cell phone and promises to have managers call, but they never do. I have reached out to regional sales manager who promised to seek an update, but he never followed up even after later calls and emails. My lender even questioned if dealership was a scam because they have yet to receive title after months. I have now engaged council and plan to seek action. I have also requested an investigation by Florida Division of motorists services offices and Georgia's office of consumer protection. Since they won't deal with me, I will allow my resources to address the issue. It is also illegal to Florida law for a dealer to not process the title and tag paperwork within 30 days or issue a second temporary tag. Please don't buy a car here it's a nightmare!! read more

I have never had such a frustrating experience with getting the title and associated paperwork for titling my vehicle. It has been over 60 days, I am unable to get another temp tag. Now I have a 20K car that I cannot drive. Thanks Avis, for the hours and hours of run around. Call this number, only to find out that they cannot help to having them tell me to call another number, to having to send a email. Really this is a comedy of incompetence. Totally Unprofessional, my experience was not the best at all! Came to look at a car and Jose came out his office screaming at me like a madman because I asked about price the day before and left without a deal. According to the GM Jose suffered a heart attack and has been irritable towards people since then. Which you would think would make someone more humbling but I wouldn't know. I purchased a car only because I already had prearranged plans with the car or else I would've never came back and escalated my interest with Jose up the proper chains. Also The finance manager I signed papers with was also disrespectful and weird. He said he had other clients needing to sign so I got up and so I stopped and told him he can let them go first. I went over to the GM office and he said he didn't like that specific financing guy either and wished I was there earlier to work with the one I spoke to on the phone. He also said if it was up to him Jose would be gone but all he can do is report to HR which I'm sure never even happened. All of this felt scripted to me and again if I didn't have plans for the car already I wouldn't have never stepped foot back in this place. If you know you're stuff and challenge them they act like children not salesman. I'm most likely going to follow through with my complaint againt Jose with the Better Business Bureau or Consumer of Business Protection Bureau because it was absolutely ridiculous and possibly racially motivated. Also apparently they aren't allowed to fill up the gas tank more thank $10 so the car is given on E or at least that's what I was told. I didn't really care it's $40 buckets whatever. The car buying experience was fine. I did my research prior to coming, knew roughly the cars I wanted to look at. Test driving was no big deal. Took a couple around and made a quick decision on which I wanted. I wasn't in for a bells and whistles type deal. We spent about 3 hours there between the others waiting and all the back and forth everyone else ahead of us had to do. I was already pre-approved and had my bank offer letter and was insistent they not run my credit through THEIR bank when running my application. Of course they did and I got no less than 3 alerts immediately while sitting in the sales agents office, while he was still running my app with the Finance Manager. I said nothing because I didn't want a scene. I wanted my car and to get out. Eventually, I got my car, got out and took it back to North Carolina. I had it looked at by the Hyndai up here and they confirmed I got a good deal, it was in great condition, however they really didn't maintain the simple things like they were supposed to, so I needed to bring it in soon. (For example, it's hardly driven and I can confirm the air filter is a disaster) But the reason for the one star is that I bought the car in late June/Early July. It's now mid-January and I am riding around on expired plates from November. They refuse to pay the state what I already paid them, so I can get my plates. I've had cops follow me this week and near in panic due to the fact I don't have valid plates. I have to be extremely cautious when driving. I've contacted them no less than 8 times and every time I get silence or the same canned email response asking me for the same information over and over. I send it, along with the PDF scan of the entire deal...crickets. At this point, it's just a matter of a lawsuit since they don't want to pay. I can see others have had this experience so apparently this is the only way to get this done. They've got my money so now they need to pay. read more

Russian Roulette of car buying, they are basically a clearing house, so inspect the rental car you get, and don't expect any issues to be resolved once you are out the door. Bought a car 1 bad key fob, loose backup camera, Oh take it to dealership if it's not covered we'll take care of it. Not so much, call (no one knows how to access voicemail, so don't bother leaving a message). End up with an additional $650 in repairs out of pocket, so if the car isn't perfect don't buy it. read more

TERRIBLE customer service, LACK of respect and ILLEGAL suggestions by the manager Victor Hodge. I bought a car in early November, the seller Mauricio promised that the vehicle tag would arrive within 2 weeks. - 2 weeks went by and I did not received my tag - Week 3, I called and Mauricio told me that the tag was on the way that I should receive it within a couple of days. - Week 4, I called Avis car sales and they reissued a temporary tag (second time). - Week 5, they promised the tag was on its way and gave me a tracking code for a package that has STILL NOT even arrived at UPS facility. - Week 6, I called again, Mauricio told me he was going to send an email to management to check what was going on and get back to me. I had to call few days later since I got no update, and he said the tag was on its way. - Week 7, I called again and Mauricio has been dodging my calls, I have been leaving messages daily and nobody has returned my calls, and when I asked to speak with a manager he seems to never be there. - Week 8, my second temp tag has expired and they won't reissue a third one, and of course they have not even issued my permanent tag! So right now, I cannot legally drive the car I purchased from Avis because they are 2 months late with the title and tag. I had to drive to their office to even get to speak with somebody because they were dodging my calls. I called from their own parking lot and told me they were attending other client. Of course, it was a lie, there was nobody there 10 seconds later when I walked in. I spoke to Leticia, the finance rep who told me there was nothing they could do. And suggested me to keep driving the car with an expired tag and send them the ticket if I got pulled over! That is very unprofessional, not to mention ILLEGAL! She called the manager Victor Hodge, who first of all, did not even want to listen to me explaining my side of things. Instead of listening to my story, he kept interrupting me with saying that there was nothing he could do because it was Friday and that was the corporate office problem, not his. I asked him for a solution to the problem since I am not able to drive the vehicle with an expired tag, and his response was "you can drive the car". Again, telling me to drive the car with expired tag because they can't do their job. Overall, this has been one of the WORST experiences after buying a car. BUYER BEWARE! We arrived to seriously look into some cars. When we arrived, there were two cop cars blocking the entrance. After going around back, we were able to park. We were very interested in looking at a particular car and were told we had to wait to test drive it because the key was locked in a room where the manager was having a meeting with an employee. So we waited. And waited. We asked about if the manager really wouldn't open the door for us to just grab a key. The employee said no, because the manager was in the middle of firing someone because they did something illegal, which is why the cop cars were there earlier. I wish I could leave ZERO STARS. I have had the worst experience. I wish you all would listen to me. I don't ever leave bad reviews. I know what it is like to work in sales. I know what it is like to deal with tricky customers. These people don't. I'm not difficult and they made things way more omplicated than it needs to be. The staff WAS HORRIBLE, RUDE, UNCOMMUNICATIVE. This was my experience. I should have trusted the reviews when I walked in. So I had looked at this 2020 Ford Escape SE at the Orlando location and fell in love. I was coming back in after the test drive to be informed that I would not be able to purchase this car due to a recall. Well it being a safety issue with the brakes, I understand that. I would rather have it fixed. I wouldn't have my future children in a car that wasn't safe. I honestly was freaked out that they didn't say anything beforehand. So I looked within the company and saw online that you guys had this Ultimate Test Drive. I absolutely loved that idea! I have no car currently due to a current total loss so it would be perfect, I can schedule and pick it up when I want and have the time set aside to do it. Plus I get to drive my car while the paperwork is being processed. Different VIN but the same vehicle you know? It was perfect. When I had gone to the location again though they told me that they could send the car I test drove at the location on Monday to have it fixed and it usually takes a day, two, or three at most. They told me they would hold the car for me and to just cancel the reservation because this one will be here and ready. So the reservation I had made for another 2020 Ford Escape SE on Monday, March 1st, 2021 was canceled. I kind of was rubbed the wrong way about it because I have been needing to get very important things to get done and I have been putting them off due to them working on the car and the Avis sales team putting me off, ignoring my phone calls, texts, emails, and calls to the location itself. The three days I was waiting for the car to be gotten out of the shop I had tried calling every sales representative in that location, texted, emailed, called the store, and everything and I heard nothing back from no one. I actually had a few concerns about the buyer's order. Which was why I was calling. Then Wednesday rolls around, the day he promised the car would be ready. Man, I was so excited to see my new car! But he had informed me that he wouldn't have it ready. So I decided to go up there again and when I went to the location I waited two hours to get even spoken to, then after waiting two hours I started walking out and that's when the manager came up to me, then told me to wait another hour. To get told all of that. It's Wednesday and I still have no car and now he tells me that I have to wait another week. I don't have another week. Next week I will be going out of town and I need a car to get there. I am out of time. I have been scrambling everywhere trying to find a car. It's been two months. When I spoke with the manager Wednesday, over the phone, he said he could grab another car from another lot. I asked him if he could price match. He said of course. Now the car has been changed locations and they won't price match. His employee proceeded to call me to let me know how I wasted her time this, that, and so on. I could not believe the way she spoke to me. Her name was Cassandra. I have never in my life of buying vehicles have I ever had any communication issues, let alone the worst customer service I have ever had. I am a businesswoman myself. Time is money I get that. This is why I am more than upset as well. I have taken two days off of work thinking I am getting a car in reality, I'm getting pushed back with the things I need to get done. Coming from a fellow salesman, hard working, blue collar, a customer of AVIS that has spent over $20,000 renting vehicles in the past 12 months... After getting excited to purchase the truck that I had rented for the past year, I have been completely mistreated, and ignored by Alex, Jennifer, Marianna, and Russell. What had started almost a month ago in buying a truck from Avis car sales as a "quick, and simple approach" to car shopping has become one of the biggest mistakes on my behalf. Here we are 4 weeks later, a plethera of voicemails, text messages, and emails have gone without response. Not even a price on the 4 trucks that I was interested in have been provided. I have been passed around from person to person, promised resolution by all 4 people mentioned above, and totally ignored by all 4 people. The arrogance and failure of Alex (Department Manager), the laziness of Jennifer to pass me off without follow through, and the incompetance of Marrianna to provide a price, or even respond to emails and voicemails for the past 2 weeks leaves me with one question.... Is this how Avis treats their hard working loyal customers? If my business' manager and team cant do their job, that would refect on me as a bad company, right?? I just had the most atrocious experience. Parking is difficult to find and not clearly marked where the sales parking is located, the sign tells you to go to a different entrance and unless you go through the service bay you cannot get to the assigned parking. When I arrived I waited for 15 minutes without being acknowledged, someone finally asks what I'm looking for only to be handed the keys and told to find it myself on the lot. Walked the entire lot, could not find the car anywhere. Walked back in and told her how unprofessional it is that nobody greeted us and that a potential customer shouldn't have to walk an entire lot alone to play find the needle in the haystack. As a sales rep you should put more effort into making that sale. Do your job and know where your cars are, value your customer and dress like you actually want to make money. Rather than damage control or trying to work it out she told me "we have a lot of cars, how am I supposed to know where they all are on the lot" and told me to have a nice day. She wasn't even wearing a name tag so I couldn't get her name. It's unfortunate because I was more than prepared to spend the $16,000 if it matched what we were looking for. Car buying is already stressful as it is, compounding it with an unprofessional environment and unprofessional attitude by sales, it was a nightmare. Because of the unprofessionalism they lost out on the valuable opportunity and I'll certainly be telling those what company to avoid when looking for a used car. Do better, be better. read more

I bought a car from Avis Car Sales(6363 East Colonial Dr Orlando FL 32807) 3 months ago. At the time the gentleman i was working with (Juan Bermudez) was very nice, in helping get in to my first car. Today April 17 My card was charged $500 three months for purchasing the vehicle. I called Juan Bermudez regarding the charge and told me he would call me back in 10 minutes. Juan never call back. I called the dealership back and spoke with him again. He told me that no one is available in the finance department to talk to me about the charge. Then he asked me to hold on. He got some other person that claims he worked in the finance department. Luis Mesem got on the phone and told me nothing will be done until Monday 20th. I told Luis that i need my money back in my account asap as i was going to pay my rent April 20. Luis then told me that over 200 customer were charged on there card and i was one of them. Luis also sade the they whom ever in finance recharged all the bachas that were in there credit card machine. I told Luis that i needed my money back in my account now. He them told me that there is nothing that could be done until monday. I told Luis that all he need to do is go the the card machine and refund that money back to my card. he then told me no. Luis asked me to send him a copy of my bank statement. So i sent it to Luis.mesem@avis budget.com and Then told me that he did not get the email. I checked my email after i hung up with Luis and the email failed. I told Luis what they are doing is fraud and they should be ashamed of taking advantage of people during this hard time with the coronavirus. I asked Luis for the corporate number and he would not give it to me. He told me that corporate know whats going on and i should not contact them. Then I lost my cool. I trusted this company with my info. Now who knows would will happen next with my sensitive info. At this time i'm not working. making very little money with driving for Instacart. I do not have unemployment coming in do to the overwhelming amount of people out of work. And to add all this to my headache I was working instacat today and had to stop at 3 ish to handle this so i lost out on more money today. Now now I have to put my rent off even longer. and spend my time at the bank dealing with this. Please help me to shine that light on this bad company of their wrongdoing. read more

Stopped by Avis Car Sales and was pleasantly greeted by Leslie. She and Mauricio helped me find just the car I wanted, and at a good price. Somehow the license plates got mixed up. I called in a panic since my temporary tag expired the next day. Leslie took charge and, incredibly, I received the correct plate the next morning BY OVERNIGHT UPS! WOW! Excellent customer service isn't about when everything goes right. it's about how you handle the inevitable glitches. Avis Car Sales took charge and corrected the problem immediately. My 2016 Camaro, that poor thing. I had taken it to them before upon suspicion of a covered up prior accident. Indeed it was, as you can see drips of a shoddy and hasty clearcoat on the seams of the hood and the body panels on the front are all out of alignment. I had brought it to their attention, even having to deal with a total asshole of a manager in training at the time and mumbling swear words at me under his breath and to a lady in his office. Then they proceeded to take my car and "fix" it (all they did was install new front struts which wasnt necessary and paid NO attention to the body. Oh and drained my full fuel tank to absolutely nothing. They gave a crappy Kia Optima which was ridiculous since I had a WAAYYY nicer car so I would have expected something similar to mine. They took that car straight off the lot, still for sale, and lent me it. With that logic, they could have given me a Mustang or Charger they had but instead frustratingly said Nope can't do that. Yes you can liars. Then a few days later they had sold MY RENTAL! They wanted it back in exchange for a "better" car. They wanted to put in a CRAPPIER Kia Rio and I literally went off on them for that. The shithead of a manager said oh well life isn't fair them proceeded to basically hold me hostage inside the showroom unless I took the Rio. I didnt back down and left with ANOTHER damn Optima. I had brought my father and our family lawyer in to set my foot down and spoke to Tom Coss, a higher manager (and was absolutely wonderful to me, props on his professionalism there). We had agreed to swap my Camaro out for a new one of the same color but unfortunately they had never got back to me. We called Avis corporate and they said that the dealer DOESNT EVEN EXIST!! Sketchy stuff there. Recently I had taken my Camaro for a malfunctioning trunk switch to an authorized Chevrolet dealer with results showing that it was ALSO rear ended prior to purchase as if it were in some sort of pile up crash! I knew that the paint felt a little gritty on the rear bumper! They installed non-oem parts and did a shitshow of a wiring job to the harness in the trunk. Now they want me to pay out of pocket about $6,000 for installing an entire wiring harness! Basically voided my warranty because of what Avis Car Sales did to cover up a prior accident and blatantly lied to my face about it. They supposedly sell accident free vehicles. Load of crap. And I'm paying full price for a vehicle that's not even worth half of it's value that I'm paying for due to the hidden accidents. Never EVER buy from here and don't suffer the same nightmare I did. I will be contacting my attorney again for this fraud. I STILL wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to this place. Next car purchase will be from an authorized GM dealer instead. read more
