Do Not Rent from this place! I Reserved a car a week prior and they tried to give me a Dirty Car with Bird Poop on Window!! Im going away for business and you cant clean the poop off WINDOW?! The customer service was lack lustered and a 1 on scale up to 10. Do Not consider this place for your rental needs! Two thumbs down

My husband was paying by debit card instead of credit card, so the new female employee explained that we needed a bank statement, utility bill, or mortgage statement with my husband's name on it since he was the driver and was paying for the vehicle. I asked why we were not told this in advance. She calls in this male employee who explained that anyone who rents vehicles would know these rules. I explained we don't rent vehicles because we already own vehicles. In fact, the last truck we rented was a moving truck from VA to GA in 2014. So, we went to our bank to get the bank statement. But Budget wanted to keep the statement with our personal bank accounts (2) plus all of our transactions. We could not cross out our bank account numbers they said. I said this was of course not acceptable because they were sending our bank info to another location. And now everyone would have access to our bank accounts. So, he casually said, "Get a utility bill then." I said, "I will show you the utility bill over my phone." He said that wouldn't work. They aren't allowed to look at a statement or bill or print it from your e-mail or open an e-mail you send them. So, we are already severely behind at this point. We had to drive home, get a utility bill, print it out, commute in traffic for another 1/2 hour, go back in to Budget, wait in line, get the vehicle, and commute another 1/2 hr. home. The Budget new girl then says, "We need an additional $300." A female employee who was now behind the desk jerked her head up like $300 was not required," but she didn't say a word. I looked at the new female employee and said, "For what?!" I looked at my husband and said, "Should we just forget this whole thing, and drive our own vehicle since these people have not been transparent at all?" The other employee said, "How many days are they renting the vehicle for?" The new employee explained it was for 3 days total. The older employee said, "Can you have it back by 11:30 am on Thursday?" I said, "Absolutely not. The commute from SC is 5 hours without stopping." "Well can you have it back by 5:30 pm?" "Yes," we said. We were given a nice Toyota 4Runner, but we were now leaving at 1:pm instead of 9:am like we had planned because we still had to go home and pack the suv. We returned the vehicle around 1:pm on the return date, and I asked the woman at the desk when my husband would receive the $300 back. She said 7-10 days. I said, "That's a very long time!" On Monday, I'm going to tell my corporate office to not recommend Budget anymore due to their lack of professionalism and transparency. We have almost 48,000 employees, so that could impact Budget's bottom line if Budget were to be removed from our Benefit Hub suggestion list. Hideous customer service and deceit. I assume all of the other offices have the same non-transparency. How hard would it be for the website to say, "If paying by credit card, a bank statement, utility bill, or mortgage statement with driver's name is required. We may require a $300 deposit." Two sentences, but the hours that could be saved on the customer's end would be tremendous! Rude and scummy experience. They wasted 3 hours of our time which pushed us into way heavier traffic which endangered us and greatly delayed our trip. This is a $6.38B company which includes Avis. I am shocked that a billion-dollar company behaves like this! If my company behaved like this, we would have zero customers.

This Experience overall has been very inconvenient. It is now 10:00 am and I have been here since…read more9:00 am. I booked a reservation for a Tesla a week in advance thinking it was going to be available. I booked this rental through customer service and made sure that the vehicle was available. I paid for the reservation as well. As soon as I got here, they didn't have the vehicle available. The customer service rep i honestly didn't feel she wasn't trying to be accommodating. I'm not sure it has to do with company rules. However she explained that the only vehicle that she can accommodate is a camera which is a down grade from what I reserved. I Do Not appreciate this experience at all. This is my first time using Hertz. Instead the company was only able to give us a Kia but couldn't accommodate the price which makes no sense given the fact this was an error on their end. This process took over an hour. I'm not sure if customer service and the actual store employees are on the same page but this shouldn't happen to anyone else. Even if the vehicle wasn't available, a service representative should've reached out to what other options are available.
