Interesting to see how many people have had a bad experience with AVIS. I have always rented cars directly through the AVIS website and at this specific location more than a handful of times and have never had an issue. Not only do they have some of the lowest rates, they also are as up-front as you can get in regards to placing an authorization hold on your CC (which is industry practice for car rentals). I always receive a car that's brand new, and clean. One of the few cons that I can think of is that more often than not, the exact car that you reserved won't be available (due to people extending their contracts last minute, late returns, etc), but will always upgrade your vehicle to a higher tier at the same price point, which is a pretty sweet deal, however, if you're concerned about MPG and you wanted an economy car but suddenly, you're stuck with a 4x4, I can see why that'd be a little frustrating. One last con is that rarely, there'd be some pre-existing damage to the vehicle that was not recorded on their end, so, always make sure to record a 360 degree video around the vehicle to ensure that any damage to the vehicle occurred prior to you having rented it. I'm just glad I was able to point out some undercarriage/front bumper scratch damage to a vehicle and check with the employee beforehand to notate it on their records before I took control of the vehicle. Other than that, everything was smooth sailing and it'd be hard to find a rental place that is easy to rent from and return to 7 days a week. Most places are usually closed weekends, so the fact that this location is open every day is pretty sweet. They're also very lenient when you're late as well. I was over an hour late on one of my rentals and they understood that due to some unforeseen circumstances, that I was going to be late and did not charge me a full day late fee. Thanks, AVIS! Clean the cars, rent cars not damaged, provide front License plate because it's the actual law, don't laugh about the filth in the car because it wasn't cleaned when the customer complains and STILL not clean it, turn off the music on your phone that is using the "f" word every 5 seconds while helping customers, don't charge a $450 cleaning fee when you don't actually clean the vehicles...... and I haven't even actually driven it yet! read more

So, when i returned the car its not that dirty there was just debri of little sand or what not on the floor which is normal. We threw all the garbage which what we always do. What I did not like was how Ryan made the assumption that I would "need" an extra day and indirectly made me sign the contract from 02/19/20 to 02/21/20....when in actuality I only needed the car for 02/19-02/20. So what he assumed was different from what I reserved which made my total go up. I, IN FACT, did return the car within a 24 hour/1 day period. But Ryan left a distasteful place in my heart. I specifically wanted the car for 1 day. I know he was not "trying to be deceptive" However I told him I only wanted the car for 1 day....yet he printed the contract for 2 days "just in case I'm late. I've been with Avis for 10+ years. I decided to call and make a reservation instead of doing it online. Ryan helped me with an economy car reservation and told me they would honor that rate if a smaller car was not available. When I arrived to pick up my car, Ryan offered me a Prius since he had 2 available at the time. I only needed the rental for a day but I appreciated the hybrid upgrade. Getting the car and dropping off to their parking lot was very easy. The parking attendant was very nice even though he was busy washing all the cars in the back. If I every need a rental I will return to this location. One thing to note is that this location is small so if you are on a tight schedule, please arrive early. read more

I recommend Avis/Budget over Enterprise and Hertz. Avis/Budget only requires $200 deposit in addition to the car rental fee. Enterprise charges $300 and up depending on the type of vehicle. Hertz charges $500 if you use a debit card and $300 for a credit card. If you are planning to rent a car for the entire week and have a few hundred dollars that you can do without until you return the car then go with Enterprise or Herts. read more

Needed a rental car for the weekend and found a discount coupon and got a deal on a suv for 5 days. The guy that helped us out was very helpful. We were trying to decide between a Ford Escape and Chevy Escape. Ended up deciding on the Escape. The car was brand spanking new with no dents or marks! This centre is quite a day saviour as I am not sure if I would have been able to complete a business trip without their helpfulness. In brief, I arrived 15 minutes after closing time but the door was still open and an clerk was still present so I decided to take a stab. Although they were closed, both the front desk clerk and the lot operator quickly looked up my reservation and had me driving away in less than 10 minutes. My (now) wife and I needed to rent a Minivan to take our parents and siblings on our wedding trip for 4 days. We picked this rental place because I've never seen one have more than 2 stars on Yelp! We figured it was worth a shot. This Avis location FAR exceeded our expectations. The manager who we saw on the pickup day was more friendly than you can imagine and SUPER helpful and very easy to talk to, etc. Upon realizing the minivan we rented was a couple of minutes away from being ready, he decided that since it was our wedding and he didn't want us to wait, he'd upgrade us to a luxury SUV for no extra charge. This car was AMAZING! The car was clean and very nice and we had an incredible time. Another employee even called us the day before we needed to return it to ask us how the car was treating us and to let us know that we could extend our trip if we needed and where to drop the key off (24 hour return). He even gave me his cell number in case I had any problems and congratulated us on our marriage. I've never heard of a car rental place going to this length to make sure someone is happy. This is long overdue, but better late than never. My overall experience with this Avis location has been exceptionally wonderful. The first time I used this Avis location was on an early Saturday afternoon, after I received a call from someone who needed to get picked up from the airport that night, which I already knew, but what I didn't know was that there were several more passengers and a lot of luggage that would be part of the ride as well. I called Avis and a gentleman, by the name of Tes K., picked up the phone and helped me out by letting me know what vehicles he had a available and that the Avis location he works at was closing in half an hour, but if I hit there before he closed he would help out with a rental. I ran over there, got there before they closed and Tes was SUPER helpful. He made sure that I got the vehicle I was looking for, and at the best deal Avis could offer. I recently went back, and needed to rent a mini-van for one day. I came across another gentleman named Edgar, who was able to help me to reserve a mini-van for one day at a very reasonable price. Tes K., Edgar and Ryan M. are all great examples of not only true professionalism, but of what it means to be in the business of customer service. These gentlemen genuinely care about every Avis customer that uses this location, and they do their very best to not only find you the vehicle you need, but at a good rate, and they are expeditious in their process. Oh...and I have to give a thumbs up to the gentleman who work outside with cleaning and maintaining the vehicles, as they are also very professional, good hearted and care about the customers and the customer service that they provide as well. I highly recommend to everyone and anyone that lives out here, or is visiting Los Angeles, to either go online, call, or stop in at this specific Avis location to receive great quality service, from a group of dedicated people. read more

I had the most pleasant experience renting a car here few weeks ago. Ryan was truly the BEST here & Tes was also a very nice team- this team of helping & serving customers win a gold medal!!! Not only the price was competitive, the service offered was more than 5 stars. I have multiple rental car experiences with different companies & employees. I find Avis usually a much better company to rent a car than other big & small companies like Hertz, Budget(now same as Avis), Enterprise, Some airport Rental companies, etc. My experiences with Avis are so far good ones. It's a huge downer to be traveling for 10 hours to have ALREADY rented a car from here to get to the airport in the first place, to come back AFTER making a reservation at 1am to tell us we can't get a rental for whatever excuse you keep telling us. Honestly, the best place to rent a car. The cars are new and pretty clean. The rates can't be beat. I rent from here all the time and I've been pretty satisfied. However, they do try to guilt trip you into buying their insurance. The sales guy said verbatim, "Why don't you just buy our insurance since we gave you such a great rate on the car?" Well, I would hope you would try to get me a good rate anyway and I wouldn't have to owe you anything. I was quite displeased with this salesperson. Do not use this rental location if you are booking through expedia. They will not honor your expedia rate and will then charge you full price. Even after expedia customer service contacted them they were unwilling to renegotiate the price. BEWARE.....as you can get stuck paying a ton of money for nothing. read more

They're extremely rude, do not communicate from inside the lobby to the guys giving you the car outside - and be warned, if you don't fill the tank up, they charge you over $9 a gallon - and no one communicated that to me or my friend when we got the car. I had a good experience with this rental car company. It was the first time I rented a car from this company. It was convenient since it was a few minutes from my job. You have to drive into the parking lot, pull a ticket. The company has a small space on the lobby level. I made a reservation online the same day with my discover card discount. I reserved a full size but they didn't have any full size cars available so they upgraded me to a premium. I rented the car for 4 days & paid $138. Once you're there for pickup you have to walk to the end of the parking lot where they store the rental cars. There's an attendant under a tent that assists you (which isn't very professional). Once you return your vehicle you can leave the car with the attendant. The parking lot is 24hrs & you can leave your own vehicle in the parking lot, just be sure to lock up your car. read more
