It seems their billion dollar investment in EVs was a massive miscalculation that is forcing them to quickly sell-off their EV inventory for a song as renters still prefer the certainty and perceived reliability of Internal Combustion vehicles. It seems replacement parts for damaged vehicles are almost impossible to come by (even for Hertz) while signing up for charging privileges as a non-owner is both cumbersome and time consuming. Consumers aren't stupid. That said, you can grab a high mileage Model 3 for about 20 grand plus any tax credits that might apply. I wouldn't but for the stout hearted, it sounds like a great deal. They have 6 chairs and a wall outlet, but no public restrooms. If you are looking to rent a car and are getting driven here, heads up, parking is extremely limited, especially when they are busy. If you need a vehicle on the weekend, make sure to get here early. They are closed at 12pm on Saturday and closed Sundays.
