Have rented vehicles here on several occasions for business purposes, the last few times the vehicles I have received were dirty, unclean and overall unacceptable. I get that it's mostly us individuals in the Oil & Gas industry and service industry, but when our companies pay good money for rental's then Avis should ensure that the vehicles are clean, well kept and ready for the next customer. This rental I had this time looks like it had not been cleaned in several weeks or months, and yes it's disgusting getting into a dirty rental vehicle especially not knowing who was in it previously. I will look to use another rental company go forward and will also make our corporate office aware of this. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. The lady at the checkout was nice but that ends the positives. The first car she tried to put me in was filthy inside and out. The "cleaning crew" left paper trash in the car and it was evident the car had not been wiped down nor vacuumed. I called the employee and she advised that my concern would be documented though I'm uncertain what that means. She did mention they receive a lot of complaints about the cleaning crew. When I checked the tires all of the tires were well worn and I noticed large cracks in the drivers side back wheel. I turned on the car and noticed all of the tires were inflated properly except the back tire which had 9psi in it. While I was put into another car the process should not have taken so long and this car too is filthy. read more

Horrible Place! Avoid if at all possible. I've rented from here twice. First Time: the car was a level of filthy I have never seen. I was told there were no other cars available and if not that car I would not have a car to rent. I literally drove the car straight to the car wash as I could not drive to my business meeting in that car. Second and Last Time: I was told there were no cars available and I would need to wait 2.5 hours. I arrived on time for my reservation and they simply did not care. The lady at the desk was absolutely rude and had no consideration for others time. I advised her to look at my reservation, my total rental was only 5 hours, does she actually think I had 2.5 hours to wait for a car. Her response " I advise you to Uber to wherever you're going". Then told me she would speak to her manager about cancelling the reservation with no fee... She threatened me with a fee because they didn't have my car ready and I wanted to cancel. Rented from here three times and ALL THREE TIMES got hit with a fuel change even though the cars were brought back full. Luckily I had gas receipts and photos to get it refunded, but they are clearly trying to scam people with unwarranted fuel charges. Go to a different rental place at MAF. read more

The Midland Airport Avis location tried to scam me and added on a fuel charge after I filled up the tank and returned the vehicle. Be aware and take before and after photos of the rental and the gas gauge when you drop the vehicle off and keep the receipt from when you fill up the rental. read more

Reserved on Costco for $421.98 02/22/23 Picked up keys at 12:04PM 02/27/23 Dropped keys in return box 11:55AM Charged 496.21 On 03/02/23, I called Avis and spoke to William. He checked a few things and said that I had dropped the keys off at 3:15PM on the 27th! I told him there was no way as I was on a plane to Houston that departed at 2:25PM. I also told him that I had a receipt from a shop in the airport beyond security at 12:30PM. When he told me he couldn't/wouldn't adjust the charges, I asked to speak to his manager. He refused saying that his manager couldn't adjust the charges either. I told him I need to speak to his manager's manager or someone who could adjust the charges. He refused and said that it wasn't an escalatable (sic) issue. When I told him I was going to dispute the charge on my credit card, he threatened me by saying Avis would put me on a no-rent list and I wouldn't be able to rent a car from anyone. And to top it off, when I picked up the car, the windshield had so many bugs on it, I had to stop and clean it to be able to see clearly. I am appalled that a national company like Avis would treat it's customers like this and I will never rent from Avis again. read more

Received a car with deflating & uneven tires. The windshield wiper fluid was empty and the car was very dirty, inside and out. When I called about a replacement, I got attitude and was told I had to drive back to the location I picked up the car (50 miles away) despite having a location near me. When I returned the car I forgot my medicine in the glove box, so I called within the hour and got the run around. Finally I was told to leave my number. After no call back, I called again and repeated the process, to no avail. The replacement car I received had tires that ranged from 10-15 psi above specification. The windows all around were also so dirty I was unable to see through them well. I continued to call Avis to retrieve my medication (prescription which had my name) and was unable to get through to the appropriate location. When I spoke with an associate from corporate they simply said "keep calling". I attempted to retrieve my medication one final time when I returned the car but was told they weren't sure where it went. I usually don't have ANY issues with my Avis rentals, however, this experience has been so awful & significantly interrupted my vacation and I am hesitant to continue to rent from the company in the future. read more

They put the screws to me. I had used a different credit card to rent than what I checked out with. When they charged the 2nd card they charged me 9.90 a gallon for fuel even though I brought it back full. Over 160 dollars. They could not reverse charges and said to call customer service. They will not Reverse charges because I don't have a receipt for gas. Duh. They can see the car was full. Now CS is acting like I am stealing. I was provided with receipt for charges to 1st card and 2nd to show they made a mistake. Do not use this company . read more

This may be the worst rental car agency or at least location. First they tell me they only have a minivan and it's $245 for 2 days. The manager Sandra steps in and says we have a few cars, we agreed on a rate of $77/day, and the young man that went to check me out tried to charge me double. They made it right after a long time waiting, once I returned the car; they tried to charge me $68 more than what I agreed upon. Never realized how important it is to keep the car rental contract, it certainly is at this location. I overheard other customers at the counter complaining that they had been charged for fuel when they returned a full tank. I won't be returning to this Avis location again in Midland. Customer service at its worst. Their tactics seem shady, definitely not a transparent operation. read more

I had a good experience renting my car with Avis. I booked through Priceline and was randomly given Avis. I was a little nervous as I've rented with them before and had a terrible experience. Cynthia, at the front desk, was very nice and helpful. My only complaint is that the car wasn't very clean and it had a 1/4 tank of gas. I wonder how that would have really worked if I pre-paid my gas with them...would they have still charged me for a full tank? I'm glad I didn't have to deal with this battle but something to be mindful of. read more

Awful. I picked up my car. They would not allow me to add my AVIS Wizard Number. I paid for the car upfront because of how is was booked. They ended up charging me more at return. We no normally do not have issues with car rental places. We rented car for thanksgiving holiday. After being on road for little over hour we had flat tire. Went to change tire and their was no spare tire! I called avis and they said send someone out in hour and half. I also mention did it want pay for fees sense no spare tire. I was told on phone I would not be charge. After 4 hours we finally on our way. Now month later I am being charge $280 for the service? They sending me emails that they cannot help with charges. This ridiculous sense I would used my own roadside service if they had provide a spare tire. I cannot believe how bad the customer service and all miss information I was given. read more

Ridiculous fees and a dirty car. I rented a car in April at this location. The battery died and I called the airport location. They guy that answered the phone said I had roadside assistance included. I waited 4 hours for a jump start then two weeks later I received a notice in the mail that they charged my credit card another $60! I have other FREE options for roadside assistance I could have used if their employee hadn't said it was covered. I called the number on the notice to no avail only "that's our policy". I travel frequently for work (2-3 x per month). I will never rent at ANY Avis again after this! read more

I rent here once a month for about a week. The cars are awesome, it's nice when my phone automatically syncs, I get the same 2 cars a lot. The biggest complaint that I have is I have to stop and wash the inside of the windows every time. They do not clean the cars very well. Great costumer service, super friendly. read more

Do not rent a car in Midland, TX. from Avis. We dropped our car at the airport. We made sure it was filled up and impeccable when dropped it off. A month later I get a letter stating I owe over 600.00 for tire damage!!! Eight weeks later they decide we have damage. Not going to happen Avis. read more

I was recently visiting Midland to help my mom out because her roof was damaged. While I was there, my vehicle broke down and wasn't able to be repaired for a few weeks. So I needed to rent a car to get back home, but only had one form of identification and they refused to rent a car. The man who was the manager was extremely rude--I have rented from Avis many times and have never been treated with such disrespect by any employee. I had to call an Uber to take me to a different rental company and she told me that she has picked up many people from this Avis saying the same thing about this man. read more

This was the WORST experience I have ever had or have been treated as a Avis "preferred". As Avis preferred, I was under the understanding I could drop off the car at any location. My flight was cancelled out of Midland and I was told I could make my Dallas flight so I opted to drive the car to Dallas. I was charged $190 for this! Then I got caught in the worst storm I have ever encountered and was terrified for my life, to only find out my flight was cancelled there as well so I opted to keep the car to get to the airport the next day and not risk driving any further. Only to have "Roberto" tell me that will be another $100+. So for me to keep the car for an extra 24 hours I got charged over the amount that I was charged for 5 days! I have tried to get any kind of help on these charges basically to be felt like I was a worthless customer. THE WORST ever. Your company has no empathy or understanding of what I was going through with children in the car. 3 people and 2 are barely working. Long line and the third is for preferred customers which their hasn't been on in 30 minutes. I remember a time when people this lazy couldn't even find work but alas Avis will hire them. I'm still standing in line while they try to "sell" crap. Unfortunately there isn't a negative star. Never will I rent from this place again, not only are they overly priced but the customer service is the worst, I was actually hung up on by the manager. They charged my card which should not have been. I should be seeing something in 7-10 days. Really? I called them in the morning because of their error and had to call back later in the evening as they didn't call me back. Really for almost $300.00 and you expect me to wait 7-10 days for my money.
