Rental place closed at 1800 (which wasn't listed in the app when I rented it) after our plane was slightly later than anticipated, I arrived at 1804, and could not get a rental. I waited till the next day to get my rental car, about 30 min into my dive after already being delayed 15hours I realize, that the car had not been cleaned out and was covered in ants. Which made my 4 hour drive a blast. I returned it to the Marathon airport, to be asked if I wanted to continue to use my rental seeing as I had it until the next day. Do I want to continue to use a car with ants in it? Seriously? Called customer service today to get a refund and was told I can't get my money back because I drove it the whole way and didn't turn around to return it and become even further delayed than a already was. Will not be using Avis again.

Where I parked the car.

I rented a car from Atl to Naples. I was charged 75$ dollars more for supposedly parking at the wrong parking lot. There's only one parking for rentals in Naples as shown in the picture below. They said I was supposed to park at 570 TERMINAL DRIVE and they said I parked it as 500 Terminal Drive. It's the same location on the map. This is how they up-charge you.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT rent a car seat through Avis!!! If you are able to, bring your own or rent from someone else!! We got an SUV with a car seat for my toddler (20 months old). After opening the car seat from a bag, which was an Evenflo brand seat, my husband and sister in law tried to install it. They tried for 20 minutes then I finally asked a worker for help. An Avis worker then tried to help us, but the car seat would not install properly. I'm not sure if it was not meant to be a rear facing car seat or what, but it easily lifted up and moved around when he installed it. The man tried for about 15-20 minutes, and kept asking if it was okay, but the seat still lifted easily. The man then moved the driver seat back so the seat was jammed in and could not move, and then asked again if it was okay. Luckily, my husband noticed this sneaky move, and we said "it's absolutely not safe!!" I then went and asked for a manager who came over and looked at it and agreed it was not in correctly. He tried for another 15-20 minutes, adding another strap to the bottom of the seat, and it still would not install correctly. The seat moved up and down and side to side. He said there were no other options for car seats, so this was it. We are SO disappointed with this experience. I can't believe Avis can get away with using these EXTREMELY unsafe car seats. I also can't believe Avis charges $70 for 6 days with this seat that I am sure only cost about $50 to buy (I can't even find that model online). I just spoke to another parent who just went to Orlando and rented a car and had the same experience with these junky car seats for her toddler. This is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen!!

So Yelp only allows a short review so a lot will be left out. We rented a car from avis and some guy came around a blind corner at 45 MPH and slammed into us. Both cars were immobile. We called the police and EMS because my boyfriend had a mild concussion. We tried to call Avis roadside assistance, but the call kept dropping. It took 7 hours to get a hold of someone. They then said we should have stayed with the car in 20 degree weather in the middle of no where. After a day and a half of them telling us they would send us a car, they then say we are on our own and it's not their problem. With help from some good people we made it back not only to our hotel and to the airport to make our flight. The manager at Avis said even if we had gotten a hold of them, they wouldn't have come cause it was a weekend. A week and a half later we are still getting phone calls and a threatening letter that we need to return the car or they will prosecute us. Don't EVER rent from them! I wish I could tell you the whole story cause it's been a nightmare. This was the Avis at Albuquerque sunport airport.

Ace Rent A Car are complete con artists, and dealing with them was one of the most frustrating and…read moreunprofessional experiences I've ever had with a company. If you value your time, money, and sanity, do not do business with them. I even paid for my reservation two days in advance because I wanted the process to be smooth and stress-free. That was honestly my biggest mistake. Paying early didn't make things easier, it just made it easier for them to take my money and start creating problems. To begin with, the amount they charged me was higher than the price advertised online, which should have been my first red flag. Then the real nightmare started. After making the reservation, they asked me to send my insurance policy, which I did. The next day, at 6:30 PM, they suddenly contacted me saying that my rental policy needed to be verified. At that hour, most offices are already closed, yet they waited until the end of the day to bring this up. Still trying to cooperate, I spent over an hour on the phone with my insurance company trying to get the exact document they were requesting. After finally getting the rental policy, I immediately sent it to them that same evening. You would think that would resolve the issue. Instead, the next morning, less than an hour before I was supposed to pick up the car, they suddenly changed the requirements AGAIN, now saying I needed collision protection coverage, which is an entirely different document. At that point it became obvious what was happening: they just keep moving the goalpost so the process never actually gets resolved. When I told them to cancel the reservation since they clearly couldn't process the rental properly, their response was unbelievable. Instead of apologizing or trying to fix the situation, they told me I would have to pay a 15% cancellation fee for canceling within 24 hours, even though I had spent the entire previous evening jumping through hoops to provide the documents they requested. So not only do they overcharge you, waste your time, and create unnecessary obstacles, but they also try to penalize you for their own incompetence. And when I asked to speak to a manager? I was told there was no manager available because it was "too early" and no manager had come in yet. Imagine running a business where there is no manager available to handle serious customer issues. This company operates in a way that feels extremely deceptive and dishonest. Instead of helping customers, they create problem after problem and then try to trap you with cancellation fees. Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Ace Rent A Car. There are plenty of legitimate rental companies out there that won't treat customers like this.

Our flight was delayed but Julio mentioned he saw the reservation and that he would be at the office waiting for us to pick up the car. Incredible customer service. What a terrible experience at this HERTZ location is at the Naples, Florida Municipal Airport. I…read morehad just gotten in an accident and I was picking up my rental while my car got fixed. This was by 10 miles the worst rental experience of my life. I got there and I have to wait on a steel bench for over an hour while they "cleaned" the car. Finally the car comes around and the seats have stain on them... It looked like baby food or something spilled in the center console. The overall smell of the car was off. There was nothing right about this transaction from the jump, and the guy over there is a jerk. The car drove Okay... I return it (now let me mind you I work from home and I drive the car for maybe 10 minutes every other day = I drove it for under 2 hours in 14 days.) and the guy tells me it smells like smoke in the car. I said, "like what?"... I have no idea what the hell he was talking about because I've never had a cigarette in my life. He said, "it's not the smell there's ashes in the car"... I said, "yeah and stains all over the seats were there too you telling me I did that too? And the baby milk". Anyway I determined it was a ploy to legitimately charge my card for $490 extra. I want a refund now before I dispute it with my credit card company. Any other similar experiences? Absolutely terrible what they are doing over there. Like I want to know where my option to dispute what he was claiming. What was that process and why wasn't it explained to me? Who knows, I hope they do something about this. That's a nickel out of my pocket just because he said so. I've never heard of anything like that.

While this counter at the executive terminal is only open seasonally (something about snowbirds)…read morethe front counter at Naples Airport Authority FBO will call them over for you. It took a while for the guy to come over from the main airline terminal, but he brought the car over for me and had the paperwork and I was on my way within 5 mins of his showing up. I asked for the cheapest car, which he was all out of so he gave me a mustang, not too shabby.
