Both rental and return were easy. Didn't have to talk to anyone, lol. Also love that I could grab my favorite rental car, the KIA Soul. Gradually this is becoming my preferred rental agency! Especially because I've had THE WORST experiences at the OMA car rental counter.

I was Just happy to have a vehicle so that I could make a quick round-trip to see a family member with health issues. The vehicle underwent extensive inspections, I was actually surprised how long it took compared to what it you normally do when you get a car at the airport. We had a conversation about the condition of the car because it had a cracked front end on the bumper. Upon return I was informed by the manager trainee that there were other cracks on the bumper and I would be responsible. After a lengthy discussion with the manager, they finally let it go when they were able to verify with the original inspector that the issue was pre-existing ,but it sure did leave a sour taste in my mouth, given that the exception had been identified prior to my departure. My only recommendation about this location is if you rent make sure you have everything is documented and you're clear on any exceptions to avoid problems when you return it.

I picked up this vehicle earlier than what I had originally reserved and also at 10pm at night on Nov 27th. I originally reserved a minivan but was told because I am picking up early, they did not have my vehicle I reserved instead all they had was 12 passenger van. I accepted the vehicle and was given a barcode and a location for the vehicle. When I got into the vehicle, I noticed that the passenger lower convex mirror (used for blind spots) was broken and bubbled and the outside turn signal on the mirror was busted off. There was nobody insight to help me so I was forced to take the vehicle and use the barcode to get out of the gate. This is a safety issue and it is actually illegal to drive with a broken mirror. ESPECIALLY IN LARGE VEHICLE ! This vehicle should not have been in service until the mirror was fixed. Fast forward to Nov 29th. Omaha received a very bad snow storm. I went out of my hotel to unbury the car and get the ice off the windshield, I was trying to use the scraper and the washer fluid, Light comes on in the dash right away washer fluid low. Due to time constraints, I was forced to drive to a gas station and buy washer fluid because I was not comfortable driving in a snow storm at night with no washer fluid. I assume you and All your staff were aware of the upcoming snow storm. Why would they send a vehicle out with no washer fluid and a broken mirror when there is a snow storm coming, Visibility is already bad in the snow. I spoke with customer service and all they would offer me is a vehicle exchange and also 1 day refund off my rental. I was in Omaha for my son's wedding and we had activities every day for his wedding. I did not have time to go exchange the vehicle. When I brought the vehicle back is spoke with the gentleman that checks in the vehicles and he confirmed that he knew about the broken mirror in fact he said the white X on the mirror you see in the pictures is from him. He said he knew nothing about the vehicle not having washer fluid. He did however agree that the vehicle is unsafe in its current state and he would take it out of service. I appreciate your time in handling this very frustrating experience for me.

All of the clerks we had interaction with were pleasant and helpful. I spoke with a woman on the phone the day prior and dealt w/ 2 different gentlemen during pick up/ drop off. The day of pick up, the young man greeted me, helped with more random questions that only I would be concerned about and yet again put me at ease and really heard me out. I was renting through this rental car company after having a good experience with them years ago. I was in an accident with my vehicle that seats 8 and they gave me a van that seats 7. Reaching them via their phones is hard as I tried calling on three different occasions and when they did pickup they weren't very helpful. Recommend renting at another rental company.

Usually, Budget is not a purveyor of upper eschelon rental experiences however I was blown away at the selection at Eppley. 2021 BMW X6s, X5s, X3s, brand new Dodge Ram 2500 Limiteds, Expeditions with all the options, even their Camry's seemed to be a good mix of SE, as well as higher trim XSE and XLE, 4Runner TRD Off Roads instead of the typical lower end SR5 on rental lots. I chose a 2021 BMW X3 M40i. I could not believe they had this car. It was an enjoyable drive, very well equipped, and surpassed my needs for a escape from my sentence in Omaha, Nebraska. While it was not unlimited miles their mileage charge was reasonable and included 100 miles per day with the rental fee. I inquired as to why their selection was so great, Budget Nebraska simply uses the booking system of Budget for their rental business and it is not under the corporate umbrella, or so I was told. I have rented from a similar situation in Wyoming (that I would never recommend) but the group in Nebraska completely blew my socks off. The cars were all new with higher trim levels/option packages than I'm used to at rental companies, the service was acceptable, and the price was reasonable. I'd recommend renting from Budget at Eppley Field in Omaha, Nebraska if you ever end up there.

This location is well away from the terminal and requires shuttle service to get between the lot and terminal. My issue was as soon as the shuttle left the lot, I realized that I had left my AirPods on the drivers seat. I asked the driver if he could radio back about it and that I'd ride all the way back with him. Upon return to the lot (less than 10 minutes), the AirPods were no where to be found. I showed the attendant through my iPhone that they were there, but after 30 minutes they could not locate them. I again told them that they were just sitting on the drivers seat. They brought the car back to me, after being cleaned, and let me look, obviously no where to be found. I wanted to stay and search, but I had to catch my flight and no matter how long I stayed, I was never getting them back. They cover themselves with a sign right where you drop off stating "Hertz is no liable for lost items". Just disappointed that folks just aren't all that honest. Update: I guess my AirPods weren't lost, but taken. I kept checking the location after I got back home and they now now at an apartment not too far from the Hertz lot at DTW. OMG....dangerous to rent their Vans at the AIRPORT location..first one the engine shut down near…read moredowntown so they gave me another one..these Vans are OLD and nearly 50 k miles on them and they show it. I sincerely ask all to NOT rent their vans..they are DANGEROUS. It was so bad I am filing complaints with the District Attorney and the National Transportation Board..as you see on their complaints..this Licensee must lose their right to rent under the Dollar name..I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the Corporate HQ. And, the lady that worked in the booth..you could tell she hated her job and I assume it is the way they are treated by MGMT.
