Overall a smooth interaction. I was able to make my reservation and payment online before pick up. On the day of arrival it was quite busy and only 1 person working. It took approximately 30 min for me to get the car. He did a good good job taking care of each customer and their situations. The vehicle was clean and ready to go. Drop off was smooth. Same guy. I was the only customer present at the time. I handed over the keys, he checked the vehicle in and gave me my receipt. Overall a straight forward and drama free experience. I don't know how this branch is still in business with such poor customer service and limited inventory. I booked a 7seater SUV for pickup on a Wed at noon. I called in the morning and asked if I could pick it up earlier, they said 11:30 is the earliest. I got there any they said they didn't have the car since the person renting it was going to be late and I'd have to wait until 4-5pm or I could take their 16-seater sprinter van (with no trunk). I had an 8 hour drive with 4 kids under 9 and luggage, so that wasn't an option. I asked for any another solution, if they could call another Avis with a larger inventory. The gentleman seemed unbothered, as if he owed me nothing, and said I could wait 2-4 hours for a mini van (not the SUV I booked) to be delivered or drive the sprinter van to the Daytona location and swap it for a min van. I said fine, so we took the sprinter van to swap. Not even an "our apologies" for the inconvenience. They discounted half a day. So we had to pack the sprinter van (with no trunk/ broken handle to fold back seat) and install 4 car seats in the blazing heat, only to unpack /uninstall and repack /reinstall. All the kids melted down the stop since it was mid-nap time (intentionally timed that way) and weren't able to sleep for the 8 hr ride which threw off the first 2 days of the trip. Fast forward to Sunday I'm on my way back and realize we're going to be later than the scheduled time, so I call as a courtesy and ask to pay to extend a few hours. I told them I'd be back by 1:15. They said they close at 1 so anything after that is considered next business day, and I'd be charged an extra $80+ taxes. I asked if there was anything they could do given that inconvenience at the start and that I book through Avis 2-3x month. They said they couldn't because now they weren't going to be able to clean the car in time to for the next customer the following morning. I'd think that as one of the most expensive rental services that they'd at least try to prioritize customer service but I'm consistently disappointed any time I need some type of support that goes beyond the app (which doesn't work half the time). I will not be renting from this location ever again. Save your energy and just go to the airport. read more

I had a confirmed reservation at the Winter Park Budget location for 12:00 PM on 3/23 for an Intermediate Car, booked through Costco. When we arrived around 1:00 PM, we were told that an Intermediate Car would not be available for another two hours unless we paid an additional $150 for an upgraded vehicle. This is unacceptable customer service, as no customer should be pressured to pay for an upgrade when the reserved vehicle is unavailable. The agent stated she contacted her manager, who confirmed that we would need to pay the additional $150. I then called Costco, which provided Budget's customer service number. I spoke with Sam, who confirmed that we would receive the upgraded vehicle at the Costco rate. Additionally, the first car the agent brought around required an oil change, and we did not leave until after 2:00 PM because she began assisting another customer before completing the process for our replacement vehicle. read more

Worst customer experience. We had reserved a car weeks in advance and when we arrived they did not have any cars available and did not know when they would be delivered. This same thing happened a year ago! Same rude manager. All the manager said was to call customer service. I told him that he should. At first he refused, but others also had arrived and were declined cars. I insisted that he call other Avis rentals, and finally he did after I told him that I would not come back and tell my law firm never to use Avis. He even said,"Fine, don't come back." No one even bothered to call us to inform us of the problem and provide a solution. We had to take an uber to another Avis rental. Don't bother going to this rental office at all. This place is a scam. We reserved a car online the day before and paid in advance. When we showed up, there was no car. In fact, there was at least one other guy who had the same problem having made a reservation, but there was no car for him either. The staff were of no help in trying to help us contact other Budget/avis rental offices to find available cars. They told us to call customer service which was a joke (you need to navigate a byzantine answering machine process without talking to anyone). Oh, and good luck trying to get a refund. Never have my reservation in the system despite booking a week in advance, never have a similar car despite having a line of available cars outside the store. Double bill me almost every time on Tolls despite paying the $11 to protect me from having to worry about tolls. Terrible experience, staff says "nothing i can do". read more

Worst service ever. Firstly, their address is double listed, so when typing it into GPS it takes you a couple miles up the road, even when using different apps. But don't bother. I tried calling them to let them know I might be rolling in close to closing time and asked for more specific directions. The person on the phone was rude and unhelpful. I pulled up 3 minutes after closing time they would not let me pick up my car that I had already paid for. They locked the door and waved through the glass. Also. . . I've been going to this location for almost a year now and they have done nothing but help me out in the best ways! They are very nice and loyal to their customers. The cars I use are always pretty much brand new and nothing wrong with them, they are always clean and ready to drive! I highly suggest them because it's a in and out fast pace service. Id like to start off this review by saying that im typically a low key person, just a gal trying to get around orlando on vacation, low keyyyy. I've never had a more miserable experience in my entire life than at avis. I have never written a review before but I thought id do my part and save people from getting robbed like I did. I was initially charged $76 for a day, Once I was in winter park I thought maybe I would extend it a day so I could get some errands done, I called they said it would be about an extra $25 dollars. I was like, ideal im in. I get there the next day to drop off the car to get a bill for $164.28. the gentleman there tells me there's nothing he can do about it, that's the price, basically looked at me like sucks to be you. I call customer service, confident that I'll get my money back, I mean how couldn't they? I was told it would only be about $100! I had the most unfortunate conversation with Twyla (Laugh out loud) customer service number 31064. F* this chick was so rude, made it clear she didn't believe me.
