If they don't want to do a basic facial why have it on the "menu?" First into a chemical peel which wasn't the solve for existing pimples. Then into a diamond glow facial. Then proceeded to wash my face and do a mask that took 20 mins. I asked for extractions (which are typical) - she left the three zits on my face and bypassed by chin altogether until I asked again. But credentials aside, what really stands out is how she runs the place. Nara has mastered the rare hospitality skill of making every customer feel like a longtime regular. People walk in and greet her like family, and she somehow manages to keep everything running smoothly while making sure everyone feels welcomed and relaxed. Which makes sense, because the entire vibe of the salon is calm and comfortable, not rushed. A logistical tip: they get slammed early on weekends. My last appointment was 1pm on a Saturday and it was practically serene. Six chairs, three customers, zero chaos. Now here's the part that tells you everything you need to know. She was extremely personable and asked me so many questions about myself, my goals, and of course my hair. I have struggled to maintain and make my curls look "bouncy" and shiny the way it looks after I visit a salon. Andrea was very patient and thorough when explaining to me what products and oils I could use and demonstrated the techniques on my hair so I knew how to replicate this myself once I got home. I was going to an awards dinner this particular evening and requested a blowout but I appreciated that she helped me cut my natural curls first so I could see and know what to expect once I wore my hair natural again (I don't think any hairdresser has taken the time to do this for me). The blow out looked great too and it was nice to have Andrea take so much time to show me both styles and explain both to me. She always paused to ask how I was liking the cut and getting my feedback. I'm pretty low maintenance but it was lovely to have her be so detailed.
