My husband and I attended the "Eat Like a Local" food tour while in Cabo San Lucas this week. Robin and Silvano were great hosts and we discovered some new eateries. We have been coming to Cabo for years and didn't know about any of these restaurants! Everything was delicious and the mole was my favorite! This is a "must do" event when visiting Cabo! Bravo Robin and Silvano!

So glad we did this local walking food tour! Jonathan was great, he is knowledgeable, kind, entertaining and funny. We didn't walk too far, but just a bit off the main touristy streets and there were so many other delicious places to discover and to dine at. My fave was definitely the street vendor's shrimp ceviche, followed closely by the Al pastor tacos (and the grass fed steak they also fed us). Mmm... so good. We also had the crunchiest birria tacos which stayed crunchy after several dunks into the consomme. Followed by chicken mole, and a stuffed churro for dessert. I feel like such a dummy for saying this, but I had the image of lots of avocados for this "Avo-Cabo" tour. But thankfully all the delicious food we ate, more than made up for it (ok there were like 2 slices of avocados on one of the dishes we tasted). Lol. Come on an empty stomach and leave satisfied. With dessert to boot! You won't even need to bring water, they will provide cold bottled water. Highly recommended. Towards the end of the tour, we took a local bus back. Everything including tips to the restaurants and servers were included in the price, except tips for your tour guide. (And any canned beer or Palomas you might want to buy at the local bodega we stop by, yes just do it!)

This is a MUST!!!! Come hungry!! If you like tacos, food, learning Mexican heritage, good company, trying local places, and for a great deal-- this is it!! Better than we expected!! Jonathan & his team were on top of it!!! We experience 5 different places in 3 hours. Can't wait to go back to some the restaurants We really enjoyed ourselves and the company. Good times This is the best way for you to experience being a local, your tastebuds will thank you. And let's not forget- knowing the local places, you get the local prices!! Not the resort commercial prices for fish tacos We ate street corn, chicken mole, pork tacos, fish tacos, octopus, ceviche, and churros. They brought plenty of waters too. After each place, you will walk a few more blocks to the next place. Perfect to let your tummy settle and get hungry again! Wear comfortable walking shoes!!

Best foodie tour in Cabo. Hubby and I went on the Eat like a LocalTour with Robin. She is very knowledgeable about the local food cuisine and is an awesome foodie documentarian. Learned a ton about the culture in Cabo in addition to the yummy food. We had 5 local stops and bought some beer at a convenience store as it is a byob tour. We started with an amazing birria taco (ate too fast and forgot to take picture), the best silky smooth mole chicken w/rice and beans I have ever had, al pastor taco where the pork is made on rotisserie pit (think how they make shawarma), a poblano pepper shrimp taco, a grilled octopus taco and ended with a homemade Mexican ice cream sandwich. We were stuffed!! Totally recommend this tour to everyone wanting a authentic local food and flavor. Tip - bring a small backpack so you can carry water and beer or drinks.

This 3 year old company has a fun Local's Food Tour. They also have a Taco Tour, a Seafood Tour & an upcoming Breakfast tour. We e noted the 8nlocatiins we hit. I thought the price was high, but then we did not just get samplings,,,, the meals we received were more than expected and SO worth the price. We loved this Tour! Kevin from Palm Springs, CA

Absolute foodie heaven to go on a tour "eat like a local" with Jonathan!! You will not want to waste your stomach on mediocre resort food after for sure!! Jonathan is also a wealth of knowledge about history, people and food - ask him anything!!!

We took the taco tour today with Johnathan and it was spectacular. He's so knowledgeable about Mexican history and food, and he drops little nuggets of wisdom and fun facts along the way. He takes you to the best local spots and helps you taste the true, authentic Cabo. We are totally stuffed and happy. Thank you so much Johnathan. Next time we come back to Cabo we will definitely be doing another tour with Avocabo tours.

Excellent experience with Jonathan as our guide to 5 amazing local restaurants for a variety of tacos, tostadas, mole, street corn, churros and drinks. Between bites, we learned about the history of Mexican & Aztec foods and drinks and other insights into the local areas and life. We will try some of their other tours when back in Cabo San Lucas It was an English speaking tour and we walked a comfortable route through the area, went for a cool bus ride and enjoyed conversation with others on tour. There is an abundance of food provided throughout, so you may need to pace yourself when eating. The ahi tuna tostada and mezcal were excellent.

This is a must! I joined a small group and it was fantastic! Besides walking around the non tourist areas (which I prefer), we got to learn about Mexico and the history of their food. That's my kind of tour. I listened to people here and did the tour my first day. I will be back to some of these for sure. We started off with a sea bass ceviche which was great! We then walked further to have hibiscus tea and a mole. Who knew that the mole was such a complex food and that it's so old. I am pescaterian, and was well accommodated with a vegetarian option. The rest got chicken. We then went on to have one of the more famous tacos around Cabo. Stop 4 was another taco but with one of the most famous chefs in Cabo. Most of my group got an octopus taco and I got a tostada. So good!!! We then also learned about Mezcal and how to drink it. Lastly, stuffed charros! Holy wow. So stuffed! So good! Both Jonathan and his colleague were great. The price includes everything, including food and tips. No alcohol though

This was such a FUN and delicious food tour in Cabo San Lucas!…read more We loved Miguel, our guide. He was entertaining and educational, and kept us moving at a decent pace. He was clearly passionate about Cabo San Lucas, about the history, the restaurants he introduced us to, and the food. There were 11 of us total on the tour, which was a good number. The tour lasted almost three hours total: 2-2.5 hours of the food tour and a little over 30 minutes of the tequila tasting. We made about 6 (7?) total stops, all of which were close to one another so there is walking but honestly not a lot of walking. Still: wear comfortable shoes, as there is some standing. We ate lots of different types of tacos, chilaquiles, burritos, ceviche, ice cream and churros. Come hungry! I loved almost every single thing we ate, and also really loved learning more about the history behind the dishes, how locals eat them vs. how we've Americanized some dishes in the US, and just hanging out in the more local part of town. At the end, there was an optional tequila tasting, which most of us did. I definitely recommend Juan More Tacos for food tours. They have great guides and you get to stop at restaurants that the locals dine in -- not the touristy hot spots. And it's priced well -- such a great value for the amazing experience!

Our tour guide was Juan, who was both professional and super kind & friendly as he led us through the walking tour. We learned about some of the history of Cabo San Lucas and why there is a diversity of food from different regions of Mexico in this tourist-focused town. Most of the shops that we stopped by were in the less-touristy side, away from the Marina, so it was definitely helpful to have Juan's recommendations and local knowledge. Over the course of the tour, we tried: 1) Chips & salsa, followed by sopes with chicken / beef / chorizo options, at Mercabo Gourmet Street Food (the starting & ending point of the food tour) 2) Taco de rajas con queso y crema (creamy roasted peppers) and cabeza (beef head), plus horchata and super-refreshing agua de jamaica (hibiscus tea), at Los Taco May. We were able to pick any taco from the menu that we wanted to try. 3) Birria taco on freshly-handmade tortillas at Taqueria Morelos 4) Stewed marlin and fried sea bass tacos, plus more hibiscus tea and horchata, at Los Claros. We also had several different options here for which taco we wanted to try. 5) Strawberry and soursop sorbet at La Michoacana - this place had so many different flavors of dairy ice creams, non-dairy sorbets, and popsicles. I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted; Juan recommended the strawberry and soursop sorbets, both of which were so refreshing and delicious in the warm November weather and after all of the savory foods that we'd had. 6) Al pastor and shrimp tacos at El Paisa (the most tourist-y spot that we went to; still good though) 7) Churros with chocolate and condensed milk, back at Mercabo Gourmet Street Food - so yummy! 8) Tequila tasting to end the tour, with no obligation to buy (we sampled a few that sounded interesting but did not buy any) Overall I'd highly recommend doing this tour if you have ~3 hours to spare on your trip to Cabo. Come hungry - I was stuffed full by the end of the tacos portion (but of course still had room for the desserts). Shoutout to our amazing tour guide Juan!

The boat is okay and the food smelled good, but you will be standing for two hours or seating cramped with close to 200 strangers with only about 150 seats, half of which are benches with no backs. If the operators weren't so money hungry and full of spiteful greed, the tour might have been nice. Say they sold the ship to the true seated capacity. The horrible captain made an announcement asking people to scoot over. Families with kids or the elderly (the majority of families) were not interested in moving. They helped orient us to the e-bikes and helped us when we were having trouble staying steady on the bikes, especially on the loose sand. We also did a second tour the next day with the camel experience. It was very nice. We got to take pics with the camels and take a ride on them to the beach. After both excursions we had a Mexican lunch that consisted of mole chicken, ribs, rice, beans, salad, veggies, watermelon, fries, fried chicken tenders, cheese tortillas, beer, margaritas, tamarind water and hibiscus tea. At the end of the e-bikes we had a brief tequila making session at the end with tastings of tequila. After the camel experience we got a tutorial on how to make a corn tortilla like they did back in the day and tequila tastings. We got a chance to buy pics but it was super expensive. The first day we paid $60 to get pics and a video of the excursion. Today we paid more than 3 times that amount for pictures and video after the camel excursion. I asked why and they said it was a different event so the prices differed. If pics were not expensive as they were, I'd say this was a top tier event. The company Cabo Adventures is a total scam and preys on vulnerable families. I will NEVER use them again for any other activity despite us coming to Cabo every year. I encourage every one from Yelp not to use them as well. Each ticket cost over $200 per person to be part of a group dolphin experience. This is not even private. A child MUST be accompanied by an adult so that forces more people to join. You think after spending over $800 for 4 people they would treat us like royalty right? WRONG. They do not mention any photo pricing online because they don't want to scare you away before you purchase your tickets. But let me tell you, it's an all or nothing photo package (you cannot pick a few or buy per picture) and it was over $500!!!!!! The b*tch working at the photo center must get off on making kids cry because when you call her out on the ridiculous prices, she shuts off the computer, takes her booklet, and says "ok good bye, there's the door". They do not negotiate at all because they know you have no other option. It's truly heartless. How insulting after we just spent $800 just on the tickets for a 30 min SHARED experience. They allow observers who are not doing the dolphin experience but they conveniently put them far away from where the dolphins are so it's impossible for them to take any pictures or video. Note: females you are NOT allowed to have anything in your hair such as hair ties or clips which there is no mention online or even when you check in. They don't give a reason why and it really sucked because the day we went it was super windy and our hair went everywhere ruining a lot of the photos plus making it hard to see in the water with hair in your face. My poor daughter had to take out her cute braids :/ Many other great and reasonable experiences. Go elsewhere and do NOT support Cabo adventures. Shame on you guys. UPDATE: I'd like to respond to the manager Lorena who tries to justify these ridiculous prices instead of listening to her customers' feedbacks and making adjustments. No, it's not optional to get the photos because what's the point of doing this experience if you do not have pictures to keep as memories? Yes, I understand there's safety regulations about not having cameras with us in the pool but forcing bystanders not in the pool to be over 100 ft away to take pictures which will be blurring, you leave us no choice but to purchase the photos. Nobody is asking for free photos but charging $500 is a scam. Even Disneyland only charges $80 for unlimited photos for a whole week! And respect gets respect. After spending over $800, YOUR employee is the one who was disrespectful to me first with her attitude about the price and not even trying to talk to your supervisor or work something out with me. Clearly, you only care about profit, not about customers leaving happy or having a good experience.

Failure to Honor Group Code Benefits, Poor Room Conditions, and Unresolved Billing Errors…read more Our recent stay at Pueblo Bonito Sunset was marred by multiple service failures, misleading pricing practices, and unresolved billing issues. We booked an all‑inclusive Junior Suite using a group code for a milestone birthday celebration. The reservationist justified the $400+ price increase over the website rate by promising additional perks and cancellation coverage. None of these promised perks were honored. Beyond the pricing concerns, the room itself was disappointing. The décor was noticeably dated, the bath towels were thin and worn, and at one point the toilet overflowed, requiring attention that should never be necessary at a resort of this caliber. The resort grounds also proved to be highly inconvenient. The property is not walkable, forcing guests to rely entirely on golf‑cart shuttle service to move between areas. Wait times ranged anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes, making simple tasks unnecessarily time‑consuming. Additionally, the resort's remote location leaves guests with no access to outside entertainment or dining. You feel completely locked in with no alternatives beyond the resort compound. The birthday dinner at LaFrieda on July 10th was the most troubling experience. Following our server's direction, we ordered items included in the all‑inclusive plan and consumed no alcohol. We were nevertheless charged $91.43, plus an inexplicable $45.47 service charge--half the bill. When we questioned the charges, multiple servers told us they could not assist and directed us to dispute it at the front desk. We filed a dispute with Ulysses the next day, but when we attempted to settle our account on July 12th, the service charge was still present, along with an unexpected $4.50 Letty Foundation fee that we did not authorize. After re‑explaining the situation to Gabriella, we were again told no adjustment could be made. Between the unfulfilled group‑code perks, the poor room conditions, the lack of walkability, the remote and restrictive location, and the inability to resolve clear billing errors, this stay fell far below expectations. What should have been a celebratory vacation became a frustrating and disappointing experience.

We had our own private plunge pool to soak in whenever we wanted to. You are greeted upon arrival with a welcome drink and they gifted the kids an adorable sugar turtle cookie when we departed! They offer sample drinks and popsicles at the pools. Their attention to detail is flawless and everything is well thought out. The resort has an adults only pool, a family infinity pool overlooking the ocean, and another shallow kids pool. Plenty of lounge chairs and was never too busy. The food was fantastic from the poolside kitchen to the on site property restaurants to the private chefs. Honestly some of the best food I've had in my life.
