Found this place on my way home. The restaurant is spacious and giving a nice tex-mex and latin restaurant vibes. Server is nice, friendly, and helpful. I ordered sangria, fundido with chorizo, and carnitas platter. I'm surprised that they gave a complimentary chips before any of my food came out. The salsa for the chips is mildly spicy and definitely made in house. Fundido is delicious, definitely eat it as wrap with their flour tortilla. Carnitas platter is also delicious. The meat isn't chewy at all. The guacamole and beans in the plate are very delicious too. I also ordered flan for dessert. Flan has nice texture and came with caramel sauce, but it's too sweet for my taste. Definitely this is the place to go if you are in Stoughton, MA area. read more

Tried this Mexican spot and it was... fine. Not my favorite, but it'll do if you're in the area and craving Mexican food. I'm vegan and ordered veggie enchiladas. They were okay, but I wish there had been more variety in the vegetables -- it felt a little one-note. My husband and I love Avocados. Last winter we became regulars - we started going nearly every tuesday - and an occasional Thursday. We took a break after the summer - but we still love this place. and we went again tonight. This is a much deserved update. When we were going every week we drank many a cocktail. We enjoyed the special margaritas, and the Tropical Toucan. When it wasn't my night to drink, no one ever laughed at me when I ordered a Shirley Temple. The Pasteur tacos are our favorites, but we've had all the tacos, the fajitas the spinach enchiladas, the tableside guac. All good. The Salsa has enough cilantro. It's a good time. And though I only had it once: The Tres Leches Cake is freaking made of dreams. The staff is really good. We're terrible at chatting with people, but they do a great job. Avocado's is a good night out - even if we aren't going weekly anymore.But you should go weekly. Open disclosure, this was for takeout! For takeout, food was ready quick (though their real time updates didn't work) and was warm. I appreciated the durable aluminum take out containers which made reheating at home super easy. You can also see that the sizes are very hearty and homemade! Staff were very friendly for pickup and would like to dinein when an opportunity comes up as I believe the service would be very friendly. Stopped in here while local for a sports tournament. Ok food. Soccer game was on the TV super loud. Sadly this place has majorly diminished since the original owner sold it. We had a bad experience last time we ordered out and thought it must have been a one off. We just had it again last night, and again, it has lost its touch. It is now expensive meh food. I had the Carnitas and it was so overcooked it was like a jerky. Almost inedible. The chicken quesadilla my daughter had was lacking in flavor and dry too. Also for four of us the price was around $70. Just insane. Visiting friends in Boston and wanted to eat at their favorite Taco Tuesday spot (on a Friday), Avocados Mexican Cuisine. We started with complimentary chips and salsa...salsa is not spicy, not a lot of crunchy veggies, all in all was ok. The ceviche is a must have...we asked for a mix of fish and seafood served with tortilla chips...I added a dash of peeper on each bite and it was perfect! For entree I ordered 2 shrimp and 1 fish tacos, Mexican style (only onion and cilantro)...the fish was lightly fried and needed more seasoning; however, the shrimp taco was great, add the verde or red sauces for a little spicy kick. The star of the night was the blackberry margarita...the bartender had all the right measurements because no one ingredient overpowered the other...the house tequila was smooth and the blackberry flavoring was not too sweet or too sour. First off I honestly have to apologize. Been in the neighborhood 8 years now and I pass through Stoughton daily, literally after date night earlier this evening with my wife I'm still in shock No exaggeration whatsoever, a hidden gem hiding in plain sight. Everything about it was perfect! The ambiance was cozy and the entire place was spotless, restroom included! Service was, for lack of a better word? Outstanding. Our bartender Dominica was attentive and welcoming, as well as the rest of the staff. made us some of the best margaritas we've ever had. We weren't planning on eating as we were at the bar, but after enjoying the complimentary nachos and fresh homemade salsa we decided on some tacos ( shrimp, chicken and I had beef tongue that was so tender it basically evaporated in my mouth. Not only were they all delicious, but great portions for a taco unlike we've ever experienced before. Everything was so great we ordered a few more to go. Stopped here on the way home from a trip. We were their only dine in customers at 1pm. They have chairs, booths, and bar seating. I wasn't impressed by the chips and salsa. The salsa was very watery. However my sister got the Veggie lunch burrito and omg it was delicious. I had the chicken lunch burrito and it was good, but hers blew mine away. Service was good. I didn't like that there was 2 types of music playing. It was very distracting. Maybe if there was more people in the restaurant you wouldn't notice it. Overall some of the best Mexican food we have had in a while. Seasoned well but not salty. Attentive waitstaff and nice interior. Comfortable seating. This place is the definition of mid. Over the years I've tried it a few times and I'm always disappointed. The burritos are 90% rice and the protein they do give you is flavorless. Definitely not worth it for $11.99 when I'm getting mostly rice. Save yourself the money and go 5 minutes down the street to Taco Bell or one of many other Mexican spots in the area. Complimentary chips and salsa served as soon as we were seated. Freshly made warm chips with excellent fresh salsa. Ordered the Special Margarita with Don Julia to start, made with freshly squeezed lime juice, not the gross sour mix. The margarita was excellent and perfectly mixed. Then we ordered the chimichanga and fajitas. The chimichanga options only showed chicken, steak, and ground beef however the taco menu shows other options that you can order from. I opted for the chorizo chimichanga. The chimichanga was excellent and the chorizo was a good quality, not lots of fat. The shrimp fajitas looked wonderful. I tried one or three of the shrimp and they were cooked perfectly, nice seasoning. Also, onions and green peppers were crispy crunchy and delicious! This is by far the best Mexican restaurant I've ever visited. My friend and I sat at the bar. Well, first of all, we couldn't find parking so we had to call. The bartender was great; he directed us to the back lot. There is actually ample parking behind the restaurant by the train tracks once you figure out where you are going. We had to circle the block a couple of times but it worked out. Marco at the bar greeted us and brought us chips and salsa immediately. I thought the salsa was wonderful. The chips were great too, not too salty and very fresh. We had two delicious house margaritas and I had a second one, the Cadillac Margarita with a float of Grand Marnier. We split the cheese quesadilla from the lunch menu and we each had one taco on the side. It was plenty! Now I want to go back and try everything. The desserts looked excellent, but we were full. Even though Marco was running around doing prep for the evening and waiting on other tables, we never felt neglected. The place is beautifully decorated and very cozy. I love the pale green walls. Avocado's is not huge, and I don't know what the wait would be like on a busy evening, but I think I would chance it. The service was so fast and efficient that I am sure they keep it moving along. I can't wait to try a taco Tuesday here. The price was right as well. Let's face it, you can get good Mexican food and margaritas at a lot of places, but the service and the overall friendly vibe really sets Avocado's apart. I found this place on Yelp and we were so happy we found a delicious Mexican spot so close to home! When we walked in we were immediately greeted by the host and was told we can pick any booth. There were a ton of seating, even seating at the back of the restaurant. Tables and booths were clean and felt brand new--super comfy too. Our server came over shortly after we sat down and brought over free chips and salsa. Salsa was actually pretty good considering it was free. Their passionfruit margarita was pretty basic. Their coconut margarita was delicious. It was nice and creamy, but not too sweet. Super flavorful! I ordered the Fajita trio which came with chicken, beef, and shrimp. The chicken one was delicious. The beef was super tough to eat as it was over cooked. They gave a generous portion of shrimp. My food was super flavorful. Again, large portions for such an affordable price tag-- I even had food to take home. We were one of the three tables there. Our server was good but once we got our food she went MIA. I wish she was more attentive to us. Felt like we were bothering her when we flagged her down a couple times for another round of drinks or a to go box and bill. Went there on a Thursday afternoon; restaurant was not busy. Fresh salsa, brought to the table immediately upon seating, was outstanding; not too spicy, just the right tang and a perfect marriage to the fresh Chips. Table-side preparation of Guacamole showed a good understanding of what is needed to prepare the perfect recipe; fresh avocados, tomato, cilantro, onion, lime juice. Onto the main course consisting of Ceviche {fresh fish, lemon juice, and a vegetable, decorated with fresh avocado}. There was enough to take home and it was outstanding. Fish tacos had home made tacos, rice, beans, and fresh fish; it was beyond excellent. Drinks were a large "House Margarita" + draft Modelo. This review is for both the restaurant food and take out, since we got take out here a few days ago. I really wanted to like this restaurant, and I also really wanted to rate it highly on yelp if it deserved it; however, my experience here was not as good compared to other restaurants I've tried. I love Mexican food, and I really wanted nachos, so I was looking forward to trying this restaurant, but was disappointed in the end. The food was mediocre. It wasn't awful but it also wasn't the best. One thing that peeved me was the guy on the phone said he was giving us complementary chips (I mentioned I read that on yelp and he said he would do that), but when we got home, we saw that he did not give us complementary chips, and the nachos I specifically ordered that was supposed to come with guacamole (my favorite) according to the menu was left out, which we found out when we got home. The best plate was the carnitas platter which came with refried beans that were pretty good. My kids love carnitas and so do I, so we loved this dish the best. My husband did not like his mixed fajitas of steak and shrimp platter. He was also disappointed the guy said he'd give us complimentary chips but he didn't, since other Mexican restaurants like Acapulco's do give complementary chips both for dining in and also for take out. I didn't like the nachos (no melted cheese on it; they forgot the guacamole) and the steak I ordered with it was tough/hard to eat, and none of us liked the soggy chicken chimichangas that was supposed to be deep fried, so we were hoping for crunchy. The dessert Tres Leches was also hard. It did not taste or look fresh, which was again a disappointment because I love Tres Leches. Overall, the carnitas was the best dish and the tortillas it came with was good too, but not worth it to return to the restaurant. My husband still likes Acapulco's the best for their Mexican food, their complementary chips and salsa, and their keen attention to detail when ensuring our take out order is correct. read more

Small Mexican Taqueria/Restaurant in the heart of Stoughton, MA. Excellent food, I'm partial to the Enchiladas either with the green sauce (Verdes) or the red sauce (Rojas). Awesome drinks too. Fantastic margaritas, especially when made with top shelf tequila, freshly squeezed lime juice, and Cointreau (high end Triple Sec). They've recently remodeled and it looks great. We drove around Avocados in Stoughton center probably millions of times thinking we have to try it one day and this time we finally tried it! I can safely say we will come again. It's not the most beautiful restaurant I've ever seen in my life - dark lightning, lime green walls, couple of booths and a small bar generously supplied with tequilas. We were warmly welcomed by the host and prompted to sit wherever we're comfortable, then we received free chips and salsa. Margarita was good size, affordable and very tasteful - I wouldn't mind to keep them coming. The girl who was waiting the tables and the bar (!) was amazing! Super nice, quick, carrying and recommend us the best dish on the menu - Chimichanga. For those like us who doesn't know chimichanga, it's basically deep fried burrito filled with all the good stuff. Originally we planned to eat tacos (that weren't available) but definitely didn't leave disappointed after chimichanga experience. Making the food (and any food from the menu as we were advised) vegetarian wasn't a problem either. The only issue I would point out was extra charge for sharing meal and extra charge for little cup of hot sauce. read more

I love ordering "Guacamole, tableside". Wonderful to watch them make it and if you have special requests like extra lime juice or extra cilantro, they're happy to add it. It's the only thing I've ever eaten there (other than the flan for dessert, which we also enjoyed) so I can't comment on the other food. Delicious food for a small hole in the wall in Stoughton. I hadn't heard of this place before but I would definitely come here again. Only complaint would be the tables are not at a good height and are much higher when you're sitting so it's slightly awkward trying to eat. read more

New owners took over recently and I can only assume that explains the downgrade we experienced. Used to go here regularly and loved all their food. Today there was a drastic difference. Chimichanga was literally soggy. You wouldn't even know it was deep fried. It was also missing the beans from the menu description. Nachos were boring, also missing the jalapeños and red sauce from the menu description. Both food items were cold, even though we only live a few minutes away and picked it up quickly.
