Update: after another phone call to the restaurant, they finally complied with re-firing our order. They called my husband to come pick it up. While he was waiting they offered to comp our meal. Thank you for making it right! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!! I ordered delivery from sombreros this evening. The mark up for ordering online was exorbitant. Then, when the delivery arrived all that was in the bag was chips and salsa. The delivery driver said it was the restaurants fault and we had to call the restaurant. I called the restaurant and they said they would re-fire the order. When my husband got there to pick it up they told him that it was the delivery drivers fault and they would not re fire the food. This is a huge scam. They stole $100 from me. I was a loyal customer, but I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. I will order from Wonder right next door instead. read more

Slightly charred with multicolored peppers and onions stir fried to perfection. All the sides are presented in colorful dishes. Yummm. They weren't accommodating with adjustments to the food, Wanted 3 different tacos but they wouldn't allow it. Could have just charged me extra but they wouldn't even give the option. My husband and I have had a very nice time at Sombrero's. The waiters are always nice - though they are also very good at the upsell. (My husband can be a really easy target if he's in a certain kind of mood though. I have to admit, the waitress did not need to try too hard to upsell the tableside guacamole... she just needed to mention it and his eyes lit up - she even seemed surprised at how easy it was. We now automatically say no.) Personally I love the veggie quesadilla - it has a good array of veggies in it and it's yummy. My husband and I were into the fajita meal for awhile. They had a very memorable iced tea with a fruit puree the last time we went (which was probably in May or June 2023) We've only ever eaten outside there as we just stopped masking so much - and it's summer again! They have the umbrellas and the lights and it don't feel too much like eating right next to a parking lot at night. It's a bit expensive to go there frequently (even when we don't cave to the upsells) But it's a very nice experience. read more

I really wanted to like this place. The reviews had me excited and my sister has been here before and said she enjoyed it... Unfortunately, HUGE disappointment. We went there yesterday for my sisters graduation party. We had a group of 9. PROS) The place is nicely decorated and they have an outdoor patio for nice days. Complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was good and tasted fresh. Alot of onions and cilantro (which I love). CONS) We ordered 2 pitchers of margaritas, one mango and the other strawberry. The pitchers were $50 each and they were filled to the rim with ice. There was so much ice in those pitchers that when you poured yourself a glass, ice kept spilling over onto the table. Needless to say, there was barely any cocktail in the pitchers since it was all ICE. Only 6 adults got ONE GLASS of a margarita out of 2 $50 pitchers. DO NOT ORDER THE PITCHERS PEOPLE!!! IT WAS A HUGE RIP OFF!!! TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT, you're better off ordering an individual margarita and it comes in a larger glass for less money. Also, our waitress did not ask us if we wanted sugar, salt, or no rum for our glasses. She just brought us all salted rims which NO ONE LIKED. Half of us asked for another cup. 3 of us ordered the $34 TRES SOMBREROS. It was steak, grilled chicken breast, and 5 lousy small pieces of shrimp. We ordered our steak MEDIUM and it came out well done and was extremely chewy. The grilled chicken breast was overcooked and under seasoned. It was so hard to cut with the butter knife. It was so dry that I was ready to return my whole plate. The salad came on the hot plate and made the lettuce soggy, welped and brown. No dressing came with the lukewarm salad. DO. NOT. ORDER. THIS. PLATE!!! matter a fact, do not order ANY dish that comes with steak! My dad ordered the steak and shrimp plate and his steak was also chewy and extremely over cooked. The guacamole that came with our dish was brownish and was NOT fresh. It had a sour aftertaste. Bad guac at a Mexican restaurant, I knew it was downhill from there smh. The service lacked, we had to ASK for dishes to be removed. Why bring out our entrees with appetizer dishes taking up all the space. All in all, I was not impressed. Extremely overpriced and food was bland. Probably won't be back :( read more

The Birria Tacos are so delicious! I really appreciate places that let you dip your own Birria Taco! The sauce to dip it in was delicious and I even added it to my rice and beans. They give you a good portion, three tacos, rice and beans. When you first arrive they give you chips and salsa and the salsa was really good. I would recommend Sombrero's to anyone in the area who is shopping and want a delicious lunch or dinner. It is in a perfect location, right in the shopping plaza. One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in a long time! Server could've been a little more engaging, as she just didn't have any personality and only seemed want us to eat and leave. I have just returned from a solo dining adventure at Sombrero's, and I am happy to report that it was so positive that I decided to review it on Yelp immediately after driving home. Please indulge me as I attempt to set the scene, as the scene is very key to the experience. It's the Sunday of a pretty unhappy St. Patrick's weekend. A close friend was hit by a drunk driver while driving on St Patrick's Day, so both Saturday and early Sunday were spent in hospital visits, which is hardly any cause for celebration. College and pro basketball favorites had been beaten, and things were generally grim. I decided to pull into Sombrero's at around 8:20 pm, after suddenly realizing I was hungry, and unsure whether it was even still open. It was quite quiet when I walked in, and although the bar was empty, there were just a few tables of patrons. A young waiter greeted me, and started to lead me to the bar (as I was most definitely alone), and then i spotted the back of a young woman at a nearby "high top" and asked if I could sit at the neighboring hightop, as it was not at the empty bar (a slightly depressing sight), but still close to the televisions. The lovely young woman who had an orange pompom on the back of her hair, who sat at the next door table turned around and smiled to me with a million watt smile. Seriously, she was very lovely, and probably about 25 (young enough to have been my daughter) but her smile (much like my daughter's) was perhaps the most contagious grin in memory, and warmed me on after an otherwise sunny, but very chilly March day. Apparently a server, she got up and walked back to the kitchen, but not until she had turned and smiled at me again, and sort of amiably waved as she walked off. It was subtle but very noticeable, and again I realized I was dopishly smiling back. My waiter's smile was almost equally remarkable when he handed me a menu, and suddenly I considered just how powerful such friendly greetings could be when you're dining alone on a cold and dark Sunday night. My young Mexican waiter was attentive, and yet mercifully was not pushy, and when I asked him for a Margarita recommendation that was not too sweet, he recommended the guava margarita, and frankly, it was perfect. Not overly sweet or sticky, and the flavor of the guava was front and center. I decided to ask my waiter about dinner recommendations, and posed an either/or choice--something sort of traditional taqueria/Tex-Mex, or the camarones al ajo (shrimp with garlic). Without flinching he said the shrimp was superb, and of course that had sealed it. He brought over a carafe of homemade salsa, which was the thicker Americanized version, but that is the best coating for their homemade tortilla chips, which thankfully are complementary (unlike at many other Mexican restaurants around here). Excellent. The manager (at least I'm guessing that is his position) walked over amiably and inquired, in a surprisingly gentle voice, as to my margarita, and after I gave him a positive response, he too flashed a bright grin under his mustache, and I actually muttered to myself aloud, "when was I last in such an amazingly friendly place?" The shrimp arrived--extra large shrimp (I think I counted 8 or 9 deveined shrimp, with only tails on) with garlic butter that somehow was not too oily, and TONS of dynamite fresh sauteed mushrooms, which were so fresh that the delightful earthy mushroom fragrance hit my nose even before the scent of the garlic had reached me. It arrived with loads of refried beans with cheese, and a plate full of fresh warm flour tortillas. Perfectly shrimp, meaty and tender mushrooms, fresh garlic. Some fresh parsley would have been nice, but even still at was...Yum! Everyone who worked there was just so, well, HAPPY! It was contagious, even while I was alone and not terribly happy to begin with. A young sous chef or chef stopped by my table on his way out the door (by now it was after 9:00, so undoubtedly he was heading home) and yet even he inquired on my meal and service (seriously, when does that ever happen?!!) and gave me an enthusiastic smile and fist bumps. Suddenly I felt 20 years old again. Nice! Two guava margaritas that literally met the top of the glass each time, the shrimp, tortillas, etc., came to $60, including tax and a generous tip. Not cheap, I thought, but definitely worth every penny. Add all the goodwill, and it was a bargain. So yes, I will be back. read more

Awesome authentic Mexican cuisine. I've traveled to Mexico numerous times, and I can say with confidence that this is as close as it gets to being there. The ambiance is clean and well maintained, the music volume is just right, the service is great, the variety of specialty Margaritas is impressive, and the food is prepared to perfection. I started with the Cadillac Margarita and it absolutely had the right mix of everything. Then we ordered the mole enchiladas, which were amazing, with its amazing cocoa flavorful mole mix, and the chile relleno, full of flavor and heat. Food was good! Service was good! I've been to the Weymouth location and decided to come to the Canton location. I sat outdoor at this location because the inside is a lot smaller. However, both times, the service was great. They checked on us and replenished our chips when we asked. The drink are delicious. Definitely give these two locations a try. read more

I was greeted very kindly and I asked if I could order take out. She politely handed me a menu and gave her my order. I looked around and its very quaint seating at the bar and booths around. I would assume there is outside seating during the spring and summer months. I ordered the Fajita Chimichanga (chicken). There doesn't seem to be an area to sit if you are waiting for take out or at least I wasn't offered a place to sit, no biggie on my part. I was pleasantly surprised how quick my food was brought out by, I think, the manager or owner? Also very friendly. So friendly in fact that when he initially came out he went over to every person in the restaurant and greeted them personally. (It was quite early in the day around 11:45 not a whole lot of people there, but still a very nice thing to do) I got my food brought it back to my office. I was shocked how big the portion was The chimichanga was large and came with refried beans, rice and lettuce, a small side of guac and sour cream AND a small lunch bag full with chips and a small container of salsa. It tasted amazing, now I'm a big guy and can certainly eat and I couldn't finish without feeling like a Macy's thanksgiving day parade balloon!! LOL Now, I won't lie, it was expensive for me at $19.50+tip its very rare that I spend THAT much on lunch for myself alone so I wont be doing that again soon BUT Needless to say it was delicious and when I do go back I will eat in to get the full dining experience. read more

True Mexican feel, a bit away from the City of Boston but there are a couple huge malls nearby to shop and the area has just about everything but still has the small town feel. Food was lip smacking good. No complaints there at all. Nachos were delicious and it felt like a meal itself. I got the chicken nachos, they come with steak as an option. The surf and turf was great, steak was so tender and I'm not a big steak Person. Drinks, it's a Mexican place of course I had to go with margaritas, got the top shelf and it was a spot on. I would recommend getting there early the line was OUT THE DOOR on a Friday night. Wait was close to an hour for a table of 3. Service was amazing! Dropped in on a Friday night. Sat at "Amen Corner" to watch The goings on. The women next to us ordered a pitcher of Sangria for herself. I'll be damed, -She polished it off no problem. Our meal was very good authentic Mexican food. I had the chicken enchiladas with house mole. The drinks were nice and reasonably priced. Her dish came with rice, beans, and a cilantro aioli. In addition to beef, my quesadilla had peppers, onions and cheese filling. found both entrees to be tasty enough and the quantity was generous. We also got a watermelon margarita which the wife especially liked. Service was also very friendly.
