Good family restaurant for Mexican food! Have been here several times and the quality pretty consistent. It is a typical atmosphere for a family friend Mexican restaurant- warm and comforting. Our waiter was great and checked on us a few times. We got fajitas, enchiladas, chimichangas, fajita salad and for dessert, deep fried ice cream. Hi there! This week, I'm in New Hampshire for work, and I had to drive back to Boston. The traffic was really bad, and I was getting tired and hungry. I found a Mexican restaurant near my hotel and decided to stop for dinner. I ordered a Stella beer, which is my favorite drink, that can with all you can eat chips and salsa. For food, I got the Chili Verde dinner. The pork was super tender and juicy, and there was a lot of it! The salsa verde sauce was tangy and tasty. It came with fluffy Mexican rice and smooth pinto beans, which were really good too. I had a great meal and can't wait to go back and try the fajitas next time! This restaurant used to be good. It has declined completely. Our server wasn't very friendly and it took almost 10 minutes for him to take our order. I ordered Tacos Al Pastor and the chicken was dry and not tasty at all. I was very disappointed and will probably not return. I hadn't been to an Acapulcos in a long time! I used to go in Newton, but that location is gone. Acapulcos is a local Mexican food chain. This Acapulco's is conveniently located on Rt 1 with a decent size parking lot. We were seated and served quickly and the staff was very prompt and good. My husband and I split a fajita plate and a side of guac. The guac was huge.. it felt like it came out in a giant cauldron. They asked us what we wanted in it and we got everything except jalapenos. It was pretty good - but maybe a bit too lime forward for me. The fajitas came with a side of rice and beans and was very good. I got the blue midnight margarita which was "delightfully different" as advertised in the menu. It was a bit perfume-y and I like that in a cocktail, or a candy. Good stuff. We order from here a lot and really like it though definitely check your to go order. We've had multiple mess ups and today after counting the dishes to make sure there was the right number I got home and the two rice and bean burritos for my vegetarian kids we're both full of meat. My parents were visiting the town and came here for dinner. Parking was easy as it was in a parking lot. For drinks , I got the mango margarita. It was pretty strong by tasted delicious. For the appetizer we got the guacamole. They had a station where we could see them making the guacamole fresh. The El Paso chimichangas were very filling. This is a great Mexican restaurant to go to with young kids. They bring VERY mild salsa for the kiddos and their regular salsa has a nice spice to it. My daughter ordered the beef kids tacos. My boyfriend and I have eaten at Acapulcos a few times now (most recently last weekend) and every experience has been very positive. Portion sizes are generous, the food is delicious and the service is excellent, all at an affordable price. The ambiance is casual and family friendly. I give 5 stars all around! I highly recommend the fresh guacamole, which we shared as an appetizer. They make it to order, so you can customize the ingredients per your liking (ie no jalapeños) and the portion size was enough for several people to share. (Note: If you order guacamole as a side with an entree, you will get previously frozen guacamole, it is not fresh or made to order). For dinner, we both got enchiladas with red beans and rice. In the past when looking for a healthier option, I've had their Avocado Salad and Vallarta Salad, either of which can be a full meal if you add chicken. I'm from California and what told from transplants to Boston from California is that there is absolutely no good Mexican food places here. So I guess I'm pretty lucky to find this place well my visit here for a month. The food I got was good, service was great and the place I went to the atmosphere was amazing. Third time back, and this time during COVID. First off, major kudos to all the safety precautions they've put in place. They've got contactless menu, proper distancing between tables, and partitions between adjacent tables. Their complimentary chips and salsa continues to be a hit. The salsa tastes super fresh and homemade. The chips taste crispy and buttery. Our waiter also told us that if we can handle the spiciness of the salsa, then we can handle anything on the menu. I thought that was a really interesting fact to know. I got the pork tamales, one with green sauce (made with tomatillos aka Mexican husk tomato) and one with red sauce (enchilada sauce, which I believe has red tomatoes as a key ingredient). Neither is spicy, and both have a unique taste. If you're not sure which sauce you'll like, just get one of each like I did. Came with a group of 4 and half of us were impressed with the food and half of us thought the food was just okay. Personally, I'm on the side which thought the food was just okay. They have combo options which is great as I always want everything when I go for Mexican food. Listen to me, double up on the chili rellenos. They are super tasty. I also had the chicken enchilada which was ok. It was a solid amount of chicken but it was dry and had no flavor. The refried beans are spot on as well. It was super slow for lunch when I went there and the waiter was a little absent minded but super polite and overall ok. We are big fans of the Acapulco's in Sudbury and were looking forward to trying the one in Norwood after over a year of not eating at restaurants. Things started well with warm chips and salsa as well as good margaritas. That's where it went downhill. We saw our server exactly 3 times. 1. When he took our order. 2. When we got our drinks. 3. When our food arrived and he came to ask how everything looked. We had not even had a second to taste anything....that should have been a red flag. The hostess was doing more work than our server. This was late in the afternoon before the dinner rush so it's not like he was busy Every other time I have had a chimichanga it was nice, crispy, deep fried goodness. What was served to us was the exact opposite. The chimichangas here were a mushy, bland mess. The texture of the tortilla was almost like gum and the pieces of the tortilla that weren't mush had a texture of a baked tortilla not deep fried. Don't waste your time or money. read more

Came here last night for my goddaughter's 16th birthday (this is one of her favorite restaurants). Been here so many times and I'm finally writing a review. The food here has always been great. The service needs a tad bit more work as they were a little slower than usual. Granted we had a table of 13 people but this was a reservation so they should've been a little more prepared.
