We were in the Cranberry area for an event and my kids requested Thai food for dinner. There were two restaurants close to where we were but Avor had better reviews so we decided to visit here. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and has a variety of table options. You also see the tank for the beer that they brew on site. It is certainly something that makes them unique as I don't think I've ever been to a thai restaurant that brewed before. We had a variety of appetizers and entrees. My kids had the chicken satay and said they really enjoyed it. The chicken was tender and not overly cooked. They asked for extra sauce (so they don't fight over it) and loved both sauces it comes with. As an FYI, they do charge for extra sauce, but it is very reasonable for the add on. Our server told us about the extra charge so it was nice to not be surprised at the end when our bill came. Overall, too, our server was knowledgeable and friendly and fun with the kids. I tried handcrafted puffs with chicken because it was something I had never had before. They were perfection. Crispy, a nice size and packed with flavor. I'd go back just for more of those puffs. My kids had chicken pad thai, my husband the panang curry and I tried the ka-prao. We all really enjoyed our dishes. They had the right amount of spice that we each ordered and you could tell the ingredients were all fresh. I didn't love mine, so I'd order something different if I went back. There was nothing wrong with it. It was tasty and as advertised, I've just had versions that I prefer over theirs. They didn't have mango sticky rice but the kids really wanted dessert, so we tried the black sticky rice with taro in coconut milk. This was our first visit. We won't likely return. I had a duck stir fry dish. My lovely had their mixed veggies with chicken stir fry. We started with their veggie spring rolls, which were the highlight. Entrees came with white rice. It was a bit pricey. Service wasn't terrible, but it was lack luster. The person who sat us also took our order. He seemed seriously moody. I think they need to focus less on the brewery and more on their entrees. And someone should tickle the server. read more

Ordered takeout after seeing decent reviews and was very impressed. I havent read any new thai place recently so this was a delight. The pad see ew was had really good flavor and want too oily. The beef was also quite tender and flavorful. Appetizers were also really good. The chicken puffs look expertly made and were nice and crispy. The crab Rangoon are a bit expensive;however, they are very delicious. Pickup was easy and the decor on the inside is pretty cool. I would definitely co e back here again. Avor Thai is a classic staple in Cranberry. The food is always 10/10 and tastes great! Service is very standard. Sometimes it takes a while for food to be ready but that's understandable during rushes. This place can get busy in the evenings depending on the day. As a result it can be loud. I got the medium spicy mango salad and it was so good. It was a warm kind of salad and tasted so fresh flavorful and bright with fruit that you and spices. I ordered mine on Uber Eats and it came at a decent time. I also ordered mango sticky rice And I was a little disappointed by that. Overall, it was decent, but the rice was slightly still hard, it wasn't crazy hard, but it was harder than I would expect mango sticky rice to be. For the Takeaway order that I received, they didn't give me any utensils as well. It's something minor, but it does add to the experience. On a cold rainy day I crave curry. So while I was out thrift shopping with a friend in a cold, gloomy day we decided to look up a place nearby that had some curry. The restaurant is in a small strip of shops and had lots of parking. When we went inside we were surprised to see the entire place empty of customers. There was one worker who seated us promptly and was very kind. My friend ordered the chicken cashew nut and I ordered Massaman curry. I also ordered a milk bubble tea. Nice restaurant- Its spotless, quick service, good ambiance, friendly staff and tasty food. We were a decent size party and being the only people on a cold snowy night, it was very easy to grab every staff member's attention ;) We got the Thai basil fried rice, the summer rolls, tofu and the fried spring rolls. The presentation was beautiful. Food was pretty good too. We ensured there was no fish sauce in any of the items and they double checked to make us extra comfortable. It is slightly pricey than a normal Thai food you'd expect in, say Houston, but the restaurant maintains the standards that deserves it. The menu lists appetizers such as chicken satay and lemongrass soup, entrees such as noodles and curry, a few desserts, and several beverages such as bubble milk tea. Prices are reasonable. First, I want to thank my fellow Yelpers for writing reviews about Avor Thai, so that I would discover this restaurant and try it out for myself. My husband and I ate lunch here in person. Soon after we entered the restaurant, an employee promptly and kindly greeted us and walked us over to a comfortable and clean booth. Because we are still technically in a pandemic, I appreciated that tables were distanced in a spacious room, that the employees wore face shields, and that Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer were available. This employee promptly brought out our waters and took our order for foods. She smiled and said thank you. Several minutes later, another employee brought out our appetizers and drink, and several minutes after that, he brought out our main entrees. He, too, smiled and said thank you. Here are my reviews for the foods: Crab rangoon - 4.5 stars - These rangoon contained some crab meat and lots of cream cheese. The dough was perfectly crispy, and the sauce on the side was nicely sweet. Green curry with chicken - 5 stars - I requested a spiciness level of medium, and the chef used a medium amount of spice. The chicken was tender, and the vegetables--broccoli, green beans, green peppers, and eggplant--were fresh and tasty. Spring rolls - 4 stars - These spring rolls were a small size, but they tasted good. Pad see ew - 4 stars - This entree consisted of flat rice noodles with egg, broccoli, and my husband's choice of protein, which was duck. I came here for a girls' night out last week and really enjoyed our dinner. On a Tuesday evening there was no wait, plenty of tables, and a nice indoor/outdoor area that was perfect for the good weather. (Essentially think of a glass garage door that was up to let in fresh air but you are still fully covered in the restaurant) It was my first time trying Avor Thai and I thought the food was pretty good and the prices were decent. I ordered a chicken noodle dish, and my only issue was that it tasted super fishy. The rating for this place is accurate. They serve great quality food at pretty reasonable prices and with decent portions. Yes, there are better deals, but it's good Thai food so I can't refuse it. I tried their pad see ew with tofu (0 spice) and the Thai custard with pumpkin and sticky rice. The pad see ew was very good. They had nice, thick noodles that were excellently cooked. The texture was great, and the flavor was great as well. It was the perfect balance of savory and sweetness. Plus, unlike many place that barely use any sauce, they used the perfect amount! Good amount of tofu that was well cooked and well soaked in the delicious sauce. I would have preferred the broccoli be cooked a little longer since it was hard, though. Pretty solid portion for the price. I've had many Thai custards before, but this is my first time trying it with pumpkin. I must say that I prefer the version without pumpkin, but this one was still good. I thought the portion seemed small, but in reality, it's fair. The pumpkin is earthy but the custard itself is sweet and delicious. Great texture of sticky rice. I wish there was more coconut milk poured on it. All in all, a great spot for Thai food. Best Thai food in the area. I ordered pick up on a Tuesday and the food was hot and fresh when I got there. We ordered crab rangoons (they were probably my least favorite out of everything), pineapple fried rice with pork (a nice mix of vegetables and pork with a great flavor), chicken cashew nut (loved the pineapples and the flavor of the sauce), and pad thai with duck (again, great flavor and good amount of meat). It's a bit pricey, but we were all able to get 2-3 meals out of what we ordered. We just stumbled upon this place searching for Thai food and I'm glad we did. My daughter's birthday is in November, and for her special dinner she chose Avor Thai. I haven't been out as much as I want to be due to the COVID plague, but this was too special to miss. On the COVID topic I have to say that Avor Thai blew me away with their restaurant. It was clean and distanced, but the most amazing part was their front facade - a garage-like door which opened the entire restaurant to the fresh air. It was a risk chilly November day, and the door was opened to the remaining warm sun until it got dark and colder. I would gladly be cooler with that fresh air and a hot beverage! The food was fantastic. I chose the Mussaman Urey with chicken, potato and peanuts. It was zippy warm but not too scorching for my taste. The chicken Satay was fantastic. The chicken was moist and juicy and we ended up spooning the leftover sauces they were so good. Last and most amazing was the black sticky rice dessert with taro and coconut milk. It was warm and sweet and could make one roll into a ball of satisfied happiness. You have to save room for it! Lots of people were doing take out. We were starving at 8:30pm on Thursday after doing errands and found Avor Thai to be one of the only places open late night in Cranberry. We were so glad we came because the food was delicious and the staff was so kind. The interior is actually quite elegant and felt like this would be a great place for a date night. The crab Rangoon filling was delicious/crispy, but could use more stuffing. The homemade dipping sauce was bomb! I even ended up tossing it in my pad see ew. Both of our entrees wonderful and would 100% get them again. We tried the black sticky rice with taro dessert. It came out warm and was pretty sweet, but still packed with flavors. I stopped by here hoping to have great Thai food. The service was slow with one person around, and it took almost three minutes to be seated. The Summer Rolls I ordered pretty but I had to use my hand to eat them since the napkin and utensils did not arrive. My diner selection was Duck Noodle Soup. This is a small family owned business with great service and delicious food! My family and a few family friends are total regulars at Avor Thai in cranberry. They are our go-to Thai place to eat or more often, get take out from. The family who runs it is really lovely and therefore I think it's a great place to support. One of the daughters even played Pomp and Circumstance on the piano for my friend's graduation dinner! In terms of food, Ka Prao chicken is one of our favorites, and I'm personally a huge fan of the taro bubble tea. We shared some fried spring rolls and iced Thai tea both being so absolutely delicious. We got tradition Beef Pad Thai and Chicken fried rice as our entrees. Neither disappointed us. Portions were the perfect size and the flavors were spot on. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was we weren't able to eat inside due to shutting down for a private event and it wasn't mentioned anywhere on social media or their website. Really enjoyed the pad see ew I ordered this week. The flavor was nice and the noodles were perfect. The only thing I didn't enjoy was that the broccoli was a little underdone for cooked broccoli. Low spice was perfect for me since I don't do well with a lot of spice. I'd really love to stop by again to try something new. read more

I believe Avor is closest to the authentic taste. I have been to Thailand several times and like to say I have a discerning palate when it comes to Thai cuisine. Why did I take off a star? They told me 20min but didn't have the food ready for another 25min. While waiting, there was a line of people waiting for their food pickup too. Felt bad for the people who were eating there, who had to wait until the one and only person was running around and catering to all of us.
