If you're paying for high-speed internet (100+ mbps) and are getting far less, you owe it to yourself to get it working correctly. I called Electronic Minions for help troubleshooting my home network. They responded to my email on Friday, came out for a preliminary assessment on Monday, and completed the entire job on Tuesday. Harris (the owner) is a networking guy. He knows how to go about troubleshooting home or business networks. While he, like most other tech services, have preference on brands of products, he's transparent and honest. He diagnosed my issues, suggested a fix, charged me his cost for the hardware, and a reasonable cost for installation. He's prompt, knowledgeable, and will offer you options at varying cost that you can consider before signing below. Is it cheap? No. Should it be? Absolutely not. Our house has doorbells, cameras, phones, media players, TVs, game consoles, thermostats, and computers. Literally dozens of devices that rely on a fast, consistent signal. I feel like he charged me a reasonable price, will follow up to ensure that it works as advertised, and was open and honest in troubleshooting and offering a solution. The fee I was quoted for it by EM was $250 flat. I thought that steep, it's about what I paid to have it all installed including the cost of the antenna 6 years ago by the now retired Cliff at Atlanta Antenna. While the chimney is on the second floor, it's accessible by climbing from the first story over the garage. Anyway, sent photos from the ground and was basically told it would be easier to replace the antenna for the $250 plus the cost of the antenna. What? So, I called two days ago and spoke to Kurt about the speakers and inquired about them accepting trade-in speakers. I figured they wouldn't because I purchased them a while ago from a different dealer, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Kurt informed me he'd need to ask the owner and call me back. As I stated that was two days ago, and I never got a call back. I just called again and Kurt informed me that he "handed it off" to the owner and he was supposed to call me, which never happened. I guess the $7,500 (before tax) I was going to spend to simply pick up a pair of speakers means I am not worth the time it takes to make a simple phone call. Luckily Crutchfield carries the same speakers for the same price and they are quite interested in my money. I wanted to support a local brick and mortar store instead of an online behemoth, but unfortunately I cannot think of a reason to support such poor customer service.

At 7 P.M. I received a call from Jeff Newman, he was leaving Loganville and was heading my way, he pulled in the driveway at 7:30. I knew it was the capacitor because Matt Hubbard had mentioned that the part was failing but still working when he did the summer service in May. Jeff replaced the capacitor, checked the amperage and the unit was blowing cold air by 8 P.M. I highly doubt any other company could have pulled off this 3 hour turn around from hot and humid to blowing cold air! The repair cost was extremely fair, the service was excellent and the peace of mind priceless! This was my first time meeting Jeff, but I will request him in the future, he's a great guy who went above and beyond and saved the night. Trust me, you don't appreciate A/C until you ain't got it.
