He replaced the whole fixture, gave us more guidance on what appropriate bulbs to use in fixtures and also gave us ideas of what to do next with some other fixtures in our unit. Home automation and AV system set can be a big racket. I've been through several contractors who either disappeared or who created systems so over complicated that it was almost a guarantee you would need them as lifetime members of the family (only really expensive ones). I read some reviews on AVS and took a chance. Jonathan communicates clearly and does what he says he'll do. If he can't solve something immediately he does the research needed and gets it done. He didn't charge me for what I'm sure were a lot of hours of research he needed to do to solve some of our issues. He goes out of his way to find less expensive and smarter ways of doing things. I trust Jonathan and will continue to use his services for all of our AV needs. I really can't say enough good things about Jonathan. Jonathan is fabulous! We are still working together to complete a large flat-screen TV installation with speakers (I am waiting on painters) but so far he has rewired my rental condo in Silver Lake to move internet and TV connections that were in the wrong places to the correct (i.e. useful) ones. This is after I spent 2 entire days waiting for Time Warner to solve the problem which they ultimately refused to do. AVS Logic is great. We had a Coax connection in the family room and a very spotty wireless signal throughout the house. Jonathan came over for an estimate. He was punctual and knew exactly what needs to get done. He schedule the job very quickly, and again was punctual. He added a few new Ethernet connections and a Wi-fi access point. We moved the router from the family room to the office, so now we don't have an ugly router stuck in the middle of the family room. Jonathan ran Cat-6 cables under our house and now the hard wired PCs are blazing fast and the Wifi access point is very fast and has a great range (covers the entire house). Jonathan initially estimated half a day, but the job took a full day. He basically didn't leave until everything was perfect and he invoiced for exactly the sum of $ that we agreed on. read more

We decided to install a security camera system and an intercom system at our 12 unit condo building. We went through the process of interviewing 4 possible contractors and decided to go with Jonathan and AVS for the combination of knowledge, service, and price. We ended up installing a security camera system that included 9 cameras with a dvr recorder. Excellent clarity during the day and night. We also installed a video intercom system. The great thing here is that AVS installed the new main unit downstairs and the units in every condo using the existing, original wiring so no major re-wiring project needed. Again excellent clarity of the video and functionality of the system. There was a challenge with the power supply of the main unit and AVS came up with a solution that was elegant and not costly. The project recently wrapped up and we are very excited at the results. The work was done promptly with attention to detail. They worked with us on scheduling and other challenges that came up. Jonathan did a great job installing cable/satellite/internet wiring in my house. He showed up on time the day of the job and was able to successfully run wires inside my walls so I could get cable and internet hooked up. AVS Logic is the BEST!!! Jonathan and his team installed three TVs in our house despite several unexpected challenges that only an old home can offer! Despite this, he stayed true to his initial estimate and we are thrilled with the results. He installed infrared capability in our Living Room so we could hide unsightly cable boxes and cords... and he wall-mounted another TV on our old brick fireplace for considerably less than other quotes received. We had Jonathan design and install our home theater system last week. He mounted our TV over the fireplace, and hid all of the equipment inside a closet. Now, we only have the TV and remote control out in the open. My wife asked if he could install speakers outside on our rear patio. So, we upgraded to a two channel system. Now I can be in the house watching a movie while the outside area has music playing. The surround sound is incredible. At this point Jonathan has done almost every light, wire, and piece of electronic equipment in my house. When we first bought our house in Venice I called jonathan and he installed a difficult (but awesome) home network and a home theater and multiple mounted TV's. He did such great work he's since come back to redo all the recessed lighting (50 of them over three floors) the thermostats, doorbell, smoke detectors, cabinet lighting and a new commercial grade outlet to charge my car in the garage, despite having to drill through concrete to get there. Not only does he do great work, he's as helpful as you can imagine. To this day he still answers the phone and talks the cable guy through our home network so they don't make a mistake anytime they're over. And if I need anything he answers me without a thought. At this point my wife actively looks for things for him to upgrade in the house. Of all the vendors we've used over the years Jonathan is easily the top. We go back to him over and over because he's earned that trust and that business. I've even let him work in the house for days when we weren't in town, he's that trustworthy. Every one of these 5 star reviews is spot on accurate. I called Jonathan looking for someone to run and install two Ethernet and coax connections along with a new OTA antenna. He came over a couple of days later, gave me a quote (including an Angie's List discount) that was most reasonable and competitive. We scheduled the installation a couple of days afterward. He was punctual, professional, thorough, and downright amazing. The installation turned out to be more difficult than planned, complete with crawling through an obstacle course of ancient swamp cooler duct work left in the attic by a previous owner, on a hot, late August day in Woodland Hills. Not one complaint from him, only hard, hard work. Yes, we gave him a sizable tip that was well deserved, yet unexpected by him.
