Called Award Movers and set up an appointment for a quote. The company owner Carlton was very nice, came and got the information for the quote on Thursday and promised a quote by Friday morning. Midday Friday, the woman answering the phones said I'd have it by the end of the day. On Saturday, I sent an email to Carlton. It's now Monday afternoon and I have never hear back or received a quote. This is a very quick turn around move. They may be amazing movers, but their communication and follow through is incredibly poor. read more

This company is very honest in what they told me upfront and what they delivered. The moved our 4 bedroom home about 90 miles to a new 4 bedroom home. They were on time, courteous and kept me informed throughout the move. They brought 4 movers to do the job and then they did set up my furniture where I asked them to. Where do i start...what a great experience! Moving is already stressful but these guys know how to come in and take care of stuff! I've now used this moving service for the third time and don't think I can go anywhere else! They called prior to coming and arrived on time. They are always fast, efficient, courteous, professional and very careful with my boxes and furniture items and they carefully wrapped my couch and fragile items. Award Moving is a local, family-owned moving company. They are absolutely my go-to moving company and should be yours too! They are very professional and easy to work with. Their movers do a great job wrapping/protecting your items before loading in the truck, and really go the extra mile to make sure your stuff does not get damaged during the move. The three movers were courteous, punctual, worked cohesively as a team, and graciously listened as I reminded them to please be careful with my parents' antique furniture. The reason we decided to use Award is because it is a family owned business run by off duty fire fighters. I'm glad we decided to chose Award for a few reasons.. one of the main reasons is how professional each team member was during each step of the move. Second, there was constant communication between us and the movers/managers/owners. They came prepared they day of the move and it became apparent early on in the move, these guys knew what they were doing. We were extremely satisfied. Nothing but good things to say about these guys! Arrived right on time and ready to work. All of my things were packed up and ready to move, which made it easier of the guys to grab it and go! UPDATE...dont' believe what Mary C. of Award Moving is saying. Carlton knows exactly what we planned to move. How much could we possibly have changed the scope of the job in a 2300 square foot house to have the final price increased by $1000+??? Again, RUN don't walk and find yourself a reputable moving company. Terrible experience all around. I had planned a long detailed account of our experience, but it is unlikely anyone would actually read it. Suffice it to say every type of business has participants that are ethical and those that are simply looking to make a buck--Award Moving Services is definitely the latter. After having Carlton form the main office perfom a walk through of our house in advance and supply a "not to exceed" quote, we were greated on moving day (nearly an hour late by the way) with another form by the leader of the moving crew informing us that the scope of the move was larger than originally anticipated and there may be additional costs (this is a 2300 square foot house mind you, not some sprawling mansion). Due to impending closing on the house we were in no position to send them away and find another company, which I am sure they are counting on when they pull this type of bait and switch tactic. At the end of a 15 hour day (yes, 15 hours to move a 2300 square foot house into a slightly larger house less than 5 miles away) we were presented a bill that was over $1000 higher than our original "not to exceed quote." They even charged us for extra tape and bubble wrap due to the amount of pictures we had, over a dozen of which they left at the old house because they ran out of carts to move them. After this occurence I did some online research and found out this is a very common practice by dishonest movers. They know that most people will not have the luxury of sending them packing when they present the secondary form stating the move is much bigger than originally estimated and will cost more. Most people who are moving on a particular day are doing so because of schedules they have planned for weeks in advance and the movers know that. It is important to know that the "not to exceed" quote is just that...a quote. Do your research and find a company that does not have a reputation for these sorts of tactics. read more

I've moved many times and these movers were among the best! They were efficient, careful with my things, and very professional. Based on my list of items, I was told my move would take between 6 and 8 hours but because the movers were so well-trained and hard working, it only took 5 hours to complete the move, including drive time. I would definitely recommend AWard. They may not be the least expensive movers out there but they are worth the price for their professionalism and excellent service. read more

AWard Moving Service recently moved my household! I can honestly say these guys put in an honest days work. My house (3,250 sq ft) was full of stuff and they were able to pack it off and get it to my new house in a timely manner. The workers were very amiable and treated my belongings with care. My overall experience was very good. My sister recommended them, she moved about 2 years ago. She had a similar experience to the one that I had. Carlton came to my house to do an estimate and I ended up paying a little less than the original quote which was great. I can honestly say that my husband, two kids, and I wouldn't be able to box up, transport, and unload all of our junk by ourselves (LOL) that would be a nightmare. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS. There is a previous reviewer that had the EXACT experience we had. We were given an estimate based on a 4 bedroom apartment, small storage unit, and all of the larger basic furniture one would find in an apartment. Our apartment is 1900 square feet and it took these people 13 hours to move us 10 miles down the street to a one story home. $1500 later we still had to put together the majority of the furniture they moved just to get them out of our house. They would have been there until midnight had they finished what they started at 8:30 in the morning. The driver was annoyed because it was taking so long...well guess what? We were far more annoyed than he was! We did the exact same move two years ago with the exact furniture and it took 5 hours which is what I would deem reasonable for the belongings we have. I reached out to the sons owner to express my concerns with the shockingly unbelievable move and nothing has been done. We did have quite a few more boxes than originally intended, however, they were all stacked up and easy to move, definitely not 13 hours worth! We have spoken to an attorney and will be pursing legal action just so these people will think twice before taking advantage of others in the future. TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE! read more

I agree with previous reviewer.... Run from using this company!!! Highly unethical owner/operator and Mary C. doesn't follow through on promises. Considering a law suit.... They increased costs on a do not exceed quote and held items hostage until payment was made. When items were delivered only half showed up. Many items were damaged significantly. It toolkit weeks for the rest of the load to be delivered, again with more items damaged and some items still missing. No compensation... Carlton disappears. If I were to list all the damage and missing items.... it would make your head spin (missing bed hardware, missing dining room table top, damaged bedroom furniture, broken legs on coffee table, and the list could go on)... They will offer .60 cents per lb or a couple of hundred dollars for thousands of missing and broken item.... Not to mention overcharging and delivery delays. If you value your property...
