There's plenty of shade as well as wide open spaces for sun. There is a homeless population here, but they are pretty cluster in one place usually near the chess tables near the recreation center building. The park extends down a huge block and breaks up extending from Chandler to Riverside Drive all the way down Tujunga Ave alongside the 170 Fwy. A great place for families, friends, kids and everyone really. They've held some community events here... Even a small Lgbtq+ pride celebration in the past. While street parking goes fast there are some small lots if you plan out your day early. A lot of people walk their dogs and through the ball here... plenty of nature to enjoy and take in.... I haven't taken any classes at this location, but might consider signing up for activities when restrictions are fully lifted.

Six courts and they are all lighted!! -Courts aren't totally trashed. May find abandoned tennis metal lids, leftover snacks, and a trail of ants near the benches but get cleaned at some point. -Useable filtered water fountain that has come in handy during hot days -I've been safe. There are homeless in daytime but they do gather around and prowl at night. On a random night, I played here close to midnight- 2am and I wasn't bothered. Cons: -Super long wait times to get a court -a lot of homeless. I've never been harmed or too bothered. I've had a few flashes of unclothed people. -The ambiance can be a bit whack depending on the type of people around. You've got normal people just wanting to play tennis, old folks that play here all the time and want to coach you, coaches expecting you to leave the court mid-game so they can do their private lessons (which is not allowed because I called the city and coaches need a permit to hold lessons here! Only 1 coach has a permit and he's at the last court, always). Players who yell, cuss, and play explicit loud music on their speaker... -Real world vibe. I've had a few arguments at these courts too which has caused me to not come as much/ call the city. I normally keep to myself and only come here to practice by myself since it's most convenient.

Believe it or not, this park is not only for kids. I also love having fun in the sun or during twilight. It has so many different activities to do. I love to get on the swing, even slide on the slides and be a kid and be young at heart. It has a nice grass area with some workout equipment closer to the street. I have worked out in the past on those machines. You can jog, walk, walk your dogs and just chill and relax. I have also done yoga 2 or 3 times in the past. It is pretty big and beautiful. Nature is always beautiful to me. Nice trees, benches to sit and relax and eat a light meal or have a birthday party. I have seen families held birthday parties there so many times. It is a good getaway from home when you want to be alone or take your kids there to play. Plenty of parking on the streets to park your cars and just walk right into the park. Recently they have done a major and nice renovation to the playground and made it more durable and safe for the kids to play in the playground. Upgraded the place, structure and the ground surface. Which is a major PLUS FOR SAFETY!! Love this park and is so close to my house. I can even walk there. Also very CLEAN!! The reason I am giving 4 stars is that it has no bathrooms. I mean most parks have at least 1 or 2 bathrooms. Why doesn't this park have a restroom?? It is so IMPERATIVE to build a bathroom somewhere in the park!!! Where are we supposed to go when mother nature is calling us?? Doesn't matter whether you are a kid or an adult. When you got to go, you got to go. I could have given 3 stars, but since this park brings back a lot of good times and memories, I don't want to duck a star for that. It's close to home and offers a lot of activities to do. It has children's playground equipment, 2 basketball courts, 4 BIG, tennis courts, a dirt track, clean bathrooms, picnic area, nice spacious landscape and the most important, it's kept nice and clean. This park is one of my favorite parks in Studio City. They have recreation areas and can let you sign up for sports/classes that interests you. Recently, I had taken few classes with couple of their teachers/coaches and they are WONDERFUL! Earlier this morning I went to play tennis with one of my friends. Tennis is one of my favorite sports to watch and to play. We don't keep score. We just like to play and have fun. You can walk, jug, people walk their dogs, kids, they have picnic areas and do a lot of kids birthday parties.. or you can just simply sit in silence and enjoy nature, the sunlight and have a good, peaceful time. Private lot parking, or street nearby parking. They are closed on Sundays. Kind of weird, but it's their rules, not mine. That's when people usually spend time with their families. I am not going to dock a star for that since it meets all the other amenities & requirements.

There was also a ton of shade, which was great for us, and plenty of walkways for rollerblading or going for a stroll. They also have a large playground for kids, bathrooms, and courts for tennis as well. The park is very clean, and everyone I encountered was polite and friendly.

I came here for the Memorial Day ceremony. I had never been to this park before and didn't know it…read morehad memorial plaques for people in our city who died in various wars. The ceremony included reading each of their names out loud and placing a rose on the plaque that matched the war they died in. WWII had the most roses and deaths. They had one of the fire trucks lift up a huge American flag next to the regular sized flags of the branches of our military which surround a pilar with a live flame. There was also a live band, singers, and flybys by planes in formation. It was a very solemn and respectful ceremony to honor those who died on duty. After the ceremony, I stayed at the park for a bit longer laying a towel on the grass under a tree. I don't know if it was just the spot I picked, but even though it was really grassy, underneath it was really muddy, like when I finally got up my towel was soaked through and so was my back. Then I got lost trying to find where I parked because the park is bigger than it looks and has 3 parking lots. I thought there was only 1, so I didn't pay that much attention when I walked towards the ceremony. When I tried getting back to my car I honestly thought it might have been towed. Now I know there's a parking lot by the building that leads to the swimming pool, another next to the swimming pool itself so you can actually see the water, and the last one is next to the tennis courts and baseball field. This doesn't include the parking spots all around the perimeter of the park. The park is clean, has plenty of playgrounds for children, tables and benches to eat at, and a public restroom. It's not the quietest of parks, though, since there are so many children and it's next to a busy intersection, like during the ceremony a trash truck and a random car honked their horns in support of the ceremony. Otherwise, it really is a nice park with plenty of amenities.

We got easy parking right in front of the playground on a Sunday at noon. The park was large and the playground was nice, tons of space for kids to run around, and structures to climb when the mood struck. Toby's parents took over a sizable area with picnic tables, where they set up a buffet lunch and, later, cake. My three-year-old will remember this party for the orange soda ("Why are you letting me drink this?"), but I appreciated the ample, well maintained neighborhood park. I'd recommend Valley Village Park for your recreational needs in this part of town.

The park is very beautiful with soft grass that seems well maintained and cut and there are zero foxtails which is a big plus. I can tell everyone respects the park as there's zero trash on the ground and everyone is picking up after their dogs. We did some excersizes with our dogs in the park and then we walked around the neighborhood and then back through the park along the nice dirt trail to end. Similarly to last time, again I noted ALLOT of off leash dogs. They seem well behaved but one did decide to run away from its owner and did a full circle around our pack and the owner was chasing it. This caused several dogs to react and get riled up and it really could have been an issue if that off leash dog had decided to run at any of us, thankfully it didn't, it was just happy to run in circles until its owner caught it. Overall despite this, these distractions were actually really helpful for practicing training with my dog, and she did amazingly. There were so many other distractions too such as loud cars or motorcycles and kids and people running or biking. I guess maybe my dog leveled up because it was a very successful walk! I was very happy today with the experience. All the people who live in the neighborhood next to this park are so lucky to be so close to such a beautiful and well maintained space.

A lot of homeless, and weird people are around and staring at you and your children. Be cautious and careful. They usually have some events going on and recently attended a Mother's day type of an event where they sell all types of things. Mostly jewelry, artwork/sculptures and paintings. Some clothes too. The playground is safe for little children and the spongy floor is fun to play on. It is also safe if a child falls and will not hurt themselves. The park is full of squirrels and they can be dangerous at times. Watch out for them and your kids. The park is not well MAINTAINED!! A lot of trash is all around. Last but not least, they have NO BATHROOM! It's a bit of an issue for us and our children. Please, take the time and get some sort of a portable bathroom there. It shouldn't cost that much; and, consider the fact when people need to go, THEY NEED TO GO!!! No parking, and plenty of parking on the side streets. Take yourself and your kids to a better park. The closest park is Woodbridge park. It's a lot nicer, cleaner and more activities to do. Newly renovated too...
