This is the closest true local cafe to home for me, which has me visiting it frequently to read, write, study, etc. The space is large with plenty of seating. It's usually quiet enough to focus, though on a recent visit, somebody broke out the giant wooden connect four... The vibe is usually very relaxed and the owl motif proclaiming that you should "change the plan, but never the goal" really appealed to me. I usually get matcha lattes, but as I recall, their matcha comes pre-sweetened. Staff is always friendly and they recently put up some Christmas decor that helps hit that warm and cozy feel. In front they have lots of coffee and related items to buy and take home. And the location is great for access by walking to other shops and restaurants. I only wish they had longer hours, but maybe that's my own fault for working so late. read more

I stumbled upon Green Joe's while waiting for a table at Strawberry Breakfast House, which is also amazing! There's such a nice variety of drinks and flavor varieties. I love when baristas are happy to offer suggestions and they are always great. The matcha this time was super smooth and tasty. Cute spot, great coffee, friendly staff. I popped in here for a quick coffee to-go, and left with my drink (an iced americano), a savory scone, and a slice of s'mores cake. Ooops! Everything was simply delicious. They made my drink super strong and I was sipping on it for the rest of the day. I noticed that the prices were a little higher than I'm used to, especially with the $5 scone. However, I liked everything I had so it wasn't much of a bother. I was super impressed by the staff's ability to subdue a customer that was giving them a hard time. Another customer was talking down to the staff because she felt her bag of coffee grounds were stolen? IDK... she had the bag with her. I didn't get involved. But, they managed to talk her into a calm state, give her another bag of freshly ground coffee, and she left without incident. The interior was super cute and was packed for a random weekday mid-day. I went to Green Joe's to have a change of scenery for work and really enjoyed my time there. There was plenty of seating for people looking for all types of environment...tabkes for work and chats, couches and chairs for reading and a calm atmosphere. For breakfast I got a French toast bagel and a chai tea latte. Both were good and fresh. For lunch I got a strawberry mango smoothie that was also delicious and served by the sweetest lady. Today was my first visit to Green Joe's coffee. I was pleasantly surprised, the service was great, the cashier was friendly and patient as I looked over the menu and changed my mind a few times before ordering. I was meeting a potential business client here and it was just the right environment. The decor is really cool, plenty of seating both with and without tables. In addition to their coffee drinks, I would recommend their handmade sodas as a refreshing alternative, especially when it is warm. Barista Class As part of a "date day", my wife and I signed up for a barista class at Green Joe's. This 90 minute 101 class included an introduction to the basics of espresso shots, from grinding the beans to packing a pod to creating the finished product. We also learned terminology, how to steam milk at proper temps for the best froth, a review of beans and roasting guidelines as well as how to know when a shot is "dead". It was a great deal of fun and very interesting. Joshua the instructor was friendly and engaging. He encouraged and we asked a lot of questions. They keep classes small at no more than 6 people so it stays intimate. They also include a free coffee beverage at the end of class. Even without a fancy espresso machine at home (I have a Nespresso) I am already using what I learned to make a better coffee. There is a 102 class where you learn how to make certain coffee drinks. We will definitely do that in the coming weeks. If you are a coffee hound like we are and love to support local coffee houses, this is unique and memorable way to do that. read more

I went here with my girlfriend because we are trying to try as many coffee places as we can. The ambience is wonderful, you could totally come here and do work without any heavy interruptions. They have a self checkout where you order on a screen which is helpful for me because I like to know all of my customization options and see pictures. The baristas are very nice and quickly made the coffee and chai. I got a large latte with caramel flavor and drizzle and whipped cream with 3 shots. I really enjoy it, only a teeny tiny bitter. The extra shot was a bit expensive. My girlfriend got an iced chai latte with cinnamon powder. She says it is average, 2.5/5. I tasted it and it is not as sweet as I like it. Favorite new coffee shop in GSO! Happened to stop in on a Monday morning (finally after driving by it for many years and wondering how it would be!) and I'm hooked! Parking is very easy and convenient, the barista was friendly and service was really quick. Prices seem fair, especially in comparison to other coffee shops. The inside is very spacious and cozy, tons of places to sit, a great place to bring your laptop and get some work done. I ordered the Cinnematic (hot) specialty latte and a Rosemary Goat Cheese scone. Yum!! The latte is just right, not too sweet. The only issue is that I drank it too fast and needed another right away! The scone was flaky, savory, and addicting. I'll be dreaming about this one until I come back next time. My friend and I met up to create our 2024 vision boards digitally at Green Joes this last weekend. It was the ideal location! We had a table with outlets to plug in our laptops. We both ordered the nutcracker latte which was delicious (hazelnut and white chocolate). I got the eggnog sugar cookie which was delightful! The staff was helpful with drink suggestions. It was regular nose level. We could chat and hear each other, but it wasn't a library. We could hear others around us which was okay for this project. The ambiance is nice. I'm out and about in Greensboro today and this place had the best reviews of everything near me. I just wanted a kick ass coffee and a muffin or something to nibble on during my journey back home (about 40 minutes). My dirty chai latte was SOOOOO GOOD. And I sat to enjoy the cool industrial chic interior while I ate my coffee cake muffin (bonus - I could enjoy it and I didn't get crumbs in the car). Very large space indoors and lots of people on laptops or quietly conversing. There was also some patio seating but no umbrellas (I'm a pasty white girl and didn't have sunscreen on me, so I stayed inside). I'll remember this place next time I head this way!!! read more

Seems like a great location to do some work or studying. I used to visit this coffee shop a lot more before work took me in the opposite direction, and @earthfare and my favorite yoga studio were right next door. So much changed a few years ago. I was able to return this week because of an appointment nearby and ordered an Oat Chai Latte. This cafe is deceptively small-looking when you walk in. There is a large area divided into loose sections behind the coffee bar for sitting and meeting. I like the contemporary glam vibe here with cool grays, black, and dark warm tones. The chainmail chandeliers are cool too. Lots of pastry treats, including gf and vegan are available behind the glass and there's instant oatmeal cups in a basket. @greenjoescoffeeco is located on Battleground Ave. in GSO. The mural is by talented local artist @ginaelizabethfranco and can be found near @burgerwarfare further south on Battleground. read more

Almond milk instead of whole milk was $1.10 extra and that was the only breakdown on the receipt so I'm truly shocked that a basic latte was this expensive. 20oz is also the only size and it tasted rather horrible and burnt but also too sweet. I have become a fan of this place, excellent vibe, really cool environment, great taste in music, and amazing fresh roasted coffee. Green Joe's is the store of the big roaster by the PTI Airport named Carolina Coffee Roasting Company. So you will always get fresh roasted coffee. They have a nice selection of different international coffees, plus other additives such syrups, biscuits and more. Today I not only had a great coffee, but I also participated in the Barista 101 Class given by Josh. Well it was Great, he really gives bunch of tips and very detailed processes. I was very happy and went home to practice with my new Breville Barista Machine. Stop by and enjoy the cool vibe, they have a nice parking lot... 100% Recommended!!! read more

I wasn't impressed by what I got, it was more watery than the cold brews I've had before and for the price, disappointing. However the space was really great!
