Food has a super large selection of all types of foods, and no matter what you order the food is delicious! The service is fast and impeccable. The ambiance is friendly and warm and also cozy. I've been going to this restaurant since I was a little girl with my parents and siblings, it was fantastic then and today at nearly 55 years old , I still think it's a fantastic restaurant ! Picked up a $75 order (Sept 20 2019). The 2 French onion soups in that order were missing and instead were 2 orders of onion rings, which we didn't ask for. Didn't notice this until getting home, a 10min drive away. Called them. They said they'd send out the 2 soups, no charge and to just keep the onion ring orders. Over an hour later nothing arrived. Called them back. Told they were just leaving now. 15min later they arrived. Been ordering from and eating at this restaurant for 40 years. It was always a joy. Their pizza and Chinese food were always a big hit with regulars. But over the last couple of years we've noticed a marked decrease in this experience. The fried rice consistently now is over cooked, therefore caky, dry and very bland, and with much less chunks of meat, celery and green onion as there used to be. The garlic spare ribs now are of really inferior quality, with very little actual meat on the bone. The French onion soup wasn't hot at all, was slightly too salty, and the topping of cheese lacked any golden color at all. The garlic bread with cheese was only about 4 to 5 inches in length and maybe about 3 inches wide and flattened. It looked similar to a hot dog bun, and we paid a whopping 5 bucks for that! In fact, everything in our order was way over priced for what we got, given the lack of quality and quantity. And our fried zucchini didn't even come with any dipping sauce. I very highly suspect that there are major problems with this place now. Maybe there's been an ownership change, maybe pour management, maybe different kitchen staff, I just don't know, but it seems like anytime we attend there now, the place is always empty. And the food is just sub-par to what it once was famous for. Something's gone wrong. It really is disappointing because for generations this used to be a fantastic diner with outstanding food. Not anymore. Today's food order error, poor delivery service and all around poor product quality over time, means we have decided to finally cease giving our business to this restaurant. My partner and I were craving Chinese food, when we figured out there were no local chinese food restaurants that delivered, we settled on Aylmer BBQ. Might as well try it, right? First of all, their menu is crazy. Not in a good way. They have pizzas and italian pastas, and then.... chinese food. They have something called "chinese spaghetti." That sums up the wacky menu. Okay okay, but I won't judge based on that. Let's talk about the actual experience. Ordered my meal at 5:30PM. It came at about 7PM. 1.5 hours. I google mapped it, and I live exactly 5 minutes from the restaurant. Okay okay, they may have been busy. On to the food. French Onion Soup: Flavour was actually really good! Of course, the bread was super soggy, and there was hardly any broth that wasn't sucked up by the bread, but I sorta expected that since it was delivery. So, I'll look past that. Chef's Special Chow Mein: I expected noodes. Chow Mein is noodles, right? The "noodles" were bean sprouts. Seriously. The dish is 80% bean sprouts. There were no noodles to be seen. They should probably indicate on the menu that "chef special" means that it's noodless. We were really craving noodles, too. As for the flavour, it was just meh. It lacked identity. Curried Shrimp: Didn't get it. Got some sort of beef dish instead. We were really craving curry, as well. Well... that's a bummer. Garlic Spareribs: They were fine. Not fall off the bone tender... actually pretty dry. Chicken Balls: Good! They are pretty standard. Guessing they are frozen then fried. Oh yeah, and we ordered a coke. Didnt get it. So, since the order took forever, there were no noodles in the Chow Mein, we didn't get our curried shrimp, and we were missing our coke, I called them and politely let them know about the issues. The person on the phone said sorry and that chef special chow mein does not have any noodles in it (good to know, NOW), didn't say anything about the missing curry, and said that the driver probably left the coke in his car. The only thing she offered to do was to write down our address and comp us for a coke for "next time." Well, we're not quite sure there will be a next time, so I'm out $1.90. Okay first off Aylmer BBQ used to be good we have been ordering from them 4 years last night's experience has turned us away we are no longer customers for this establishment, The waitress not only misled us with false information A bout the food that we were ordering and when we finally got it it was completely not what we ordered, we called back to get this corrected because it did cost us $50, The waitress that answered the phone not only was she unwilling to correct this, or admit that this was her mistake, she had the audacity to say that we got what we ordered when blatantly did not get what we ordered, Aylmer BBQ have lost long time customers, and when we called back again to speak to the owner or manager, they said they'll call us back and we never heard from them again, so long Aylmer BBQ, and thanks again for such shitty service read more

We ordered sweet and sour chicken balls, Almond guy ding and dried Won tons. All I can say is if you've ever been to chinatown for dinner, DO NOT order Asian food from them. The chicken balls were drenched in sauce making them soggy and over powering. The guy ding had an earthy flavor to it reminiscent of unwashed vegetables, and the won tons were overdone and tasted liked stale oil. Will not order again :( read more

I grew up eating at this place. So I ordered from Aylmer BBQ looking forward to eating their General Tao Chicken. For years, I would recommend this dish to people. Coming back to town, I decided to order from here. Wow, I was extremely disappointed! The white rice was undercooked, the batter on the chicken was very wet & soft, and the sauce was not the same tasty amazing sauce it was years ago. It seemed as though the rice was from yesterdays leftover - cold & dry, and the general tao chicken was left sitting in the sauce for hours. I decided to call to let them know that I was unsatisfied with their food because it's not fair to pay for a product or service and not receive exactly what you wanted and expected. This is called having great customer service. First, you need to own up to your mistake, which they never apologized. Only made excuses! Second, you offer your customer who pays your bills three options. 1- Refund your client fully, 2- Offer to take another order, or 3- Give a credit for the next time. Again, this is called having great customer service to keep your loyal customers happy and satisfied. So, let's look at what they offered me. Aylmer BBQ offered me to take another order so I did. I asked for egg rolls. Now, let's look at how much the egg rolls cost $1.45 each and the general tao chicken cost $12.90. How many egg rolls fit in a general tao chicken? The answer is 8.9 egg rolls, round it up to 9. Guess how many they offered to give me? 5 egg rolls What this means is they stole money from a single mother and a full-time student - $6!!!! If I knew they were this desperate for my $6, I would have offered them more. The point is about treating your customers with high value because we are the people that make it possible for restaurants to make money, to stay in business, and pay for your lifestyle. When you bite the hand that feeds you, it says a lot about their mission as restaurant owners. I will never return! Not because the food was bad but because the customer service was poorly managed and the problem was not resolved. Wow best egg rolls I've ever ate in my life just amazing wowowowowow

Decided on going here after realizing that the restaurant we had planned to go was closed until 5pm. I wasn't really expecting anything as it was located in a small strip mall with no real interesting sign. They have a really confusing identity. The sign says aylmer BBQ but they advertise that they specialize in Chinese food and pizza. You'd think they would sneak in something about BBQ as its in the name of the place, oh well. I fired off my basic "are the burgers frozen?" question to the waitress and was surprised when she said no. I thend fired off my second question. Are they at any point after being freshly made frozen, once again no. I opted to get a aylmer BBQ nacho plate and a joes burger. I would change very little to the nachos they were by far some of the best I've had. The burger was delicious however the patty was a bit charred and iceberg lettuce doesn't ever belong in a burger romaine should have been the choice. 6.25 for it though. I was a bit let down with the pies which are homemade. I had apple. It was ok but the filling hadn't been cooked long enough and it could have used more cinnamon. All in all I'd say I'd probably go back for the burgers and nachos they were delicious. -1 star for the minor little things that could be changed with the food. read more

This is a business that as been in Aylmer since 1957 or so. They have just renovated, it's a beautiful place and the service was great. I was served by Sylvie and I had ordered combo #3 Chinese plate, I told her the food is great but my friend ice is not warm, but don't worry about it, I don't mind. I ordered a poutine and 2 club sandwichs and I was very disappointed. The fries are obviously frozen and they were undercooked which caused the poutine to be very pasty. The club was alright however there was very little bacon and I had asked without tomatoes and it came with. It was the only place open late on a weeknight... I am definitely eating leftovers next time. read more
