It was a busy shopping day, getting late and wanted to grab dinner to go. Lots of choice here. I went with a 1 item bowl...vermicelli as the base and the bbq chicken. Really meaty and I for sure got my protein in. The portion was good, it fed me x 2. The noodles were perfect and contained pieces of delicate veg. It wasn't greasy at all, almost had a healthy vibe to it. Ok, well, I'll tell myself that so that I can go back soon! I think it was $16 and change. Standard. I was so hungry that I gobbled it b4 capturing a photo. I recommend this place for a quick meal solution on the fly.

I was at Bayshore Shopping Mall and hungry so I decided to stop by the newly renovated food court…read more Shanghai 360 is the first place you see when you get off of the escalator. The saw me approaching and offered me a free sample. It was a piece of battered and fried fish. It was good, albeit heavy on the batter. I decided to check out the other places before making my decision, but eventually went back to Shanghai 360 because nothing else really interested me. So I got the Combo 1 ($6.79) which is your choice of 1 entree and noodles or rice. I got the General Tao's Chicken and the Shanghai Noodles. I also got a fountain soda ($1.49). The General Tao's Chicken should more accurately be called General Tao's Fried Batter because there was so much batter and hardly any chicken! The miniscule amount of chicken that was in this dish was fatty. This is a real shame because if they actually put more chicken (and use non-fatty chicken) in this dish it would be delicious. The batter is so crispy and crunchy, and the sauce is sweet and tangy with just the right amount of spice. I was so disappointed :( So much lost potential. The Shanghai Noodles were udon noodles stir-fried in a soy sauce with a tiny bit of cabbage, shredded carrots and onions. They were ok, but nothing really special. They should put more vegetables in this dish. I liked that you can choose these noodles for your combo without being charged extra because most places only allow you to have the fried rice or the little skinny noodles with their combos. The staff are really nice and they are generous with free samples. The prices are good. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment.

Really?? - The Web site says they deliver, as does their menu, but when asked for delivery, they said they would not deliver to our location - we are less than 1 Km away from the restaurant. - The spring rolls, only one kind on the menu, did not taste very good at all. Or rather, was tasteless. - The size of the dishes were the smallest compared to other restaurants we have ordered from - and we have ordered from many. - Although I picked up the food, arriving on site at the time promised, and the order was not ready when I got there and despite that, some of the ingredients were cold. - The dishes with meat had very little meat but lots of vegetables. - That said, most of the food tasted OK but not worth the money or the wait. - One of the dishes we ordered was lemon chicken. From EVERY other restaurant we ordered, they always put the sauce on the side which we prefer so that we can add only what we need. I like a lot of sauce my girlfriend not so much. - They did provide a lemon sauce on the side but that was apparently for the spring rolls. No plum sauce was provided with the order. - I called to inform the folks that they forgot the plum sauce. That is when they said the lemon sauce was for the rolls not the chicken. - I expressed my disappointment and the person on the phone did not seem to care much. As a result, I informed them that I would not return to the restaurant ever again to which they said: good, no problem. This was a huge disappointment as I used to go to the Lantern de Szechwan in Gatineau on Chemin St. Louis and that place was great - so much better! I can only believe those that gave good reviews to this place must not have much experience eating food served by these types of restaurants - Chinese, Thai, or Szechwan.

I was having a real craving for Hunan Dumplings and they had it at Ting's Kitchen ($8.95). I also got an order of General Tao Chicken ($10.95) for my husband, as it's one of his favourite dishes. Both dishes had some spicy heat to them. The Hunan Dumplings were in a thin peanut sauce and chili oil. I would have liked a slightly thicker peanut sauce and less chili oil, but I still really enjoyed it, and it wasn't too greasy/oily. The General Tao Chicken had onions, carrots, mushrooms and green peppers in it. It wasn't crispy, but still tasted good. The batter was not excessive and the meat was not gristley, so I was happy with this. The food overall I would rate 3.5 stars, but I'm rounding up to 4 because service was good and I like supporting small local businesses. I called in my order and went to pick it up. I had requested no sesame seeds and they obliged. The lady on the phone was courteous and efficient. She said it would be ready in 30 minutes. I got there in 30 minutes and it was waiting for me. There's free parking in the plaza.
