    Ginger Salad
    Nubian D.

This is a solid staple. We are in this area twice a week. I love Asian cuisine so this was a must try. This was my second visit and two weeks apart. The first time was a dine in meal with the family. I had the Hibachi with shrimp and salmon. The serving size was perfect. Unfortunately we witness a couple who seemed to be regulars there order get messed up more than once as they dined in but the waiter/cashier made the effort to get it right but I think he should've just had it reordered. Nevertheless fast forward to two weeks later I decide to come in solo for dinner. It was a Friday around 630ish place was not busy at all. But like last time tends to pick up. I can tell its a popular spot as I sat waiting for me food this lady goes straight to the back and the guy at the register let's her know her order was not fully complete. Then I watched another person come in get her take out and say "See you next week" This time I ordered the Teriyaki Shrimp with fried rice and Crab Ragoons. Man it was pleasing to my palate. I felt like they gave me more food this time as I was not able to finish it all like last time but last time I also didn't order the Ragoons so maybe that's why. Food fresh and hot. I love the dipping sauce. I have had my share and the sweet and sour sauce at other places is like a red syrupy to sweet sauce. This sauce was yellow and like a light flavor of apricot or some fruit but it was good. I don't usually care for that white sauce at other places but this place was different. My most favorite is that ginger dressing on the salad! It was popping 2 weeks ago and the same that night. I LOVE anything ginger especially in my food. Definitely need extra for my meal next time. Definitely will visit again to try the variety of meals in their menu

    Grilled shrimp

This restaurant is Asian fusion restaurant. Affordable pricing to all people for lunch and dinner. Interior is not attractive, but the food is good. The combo at lunch special has included a drink. I got the grilled shrimp with sautéed mixed veggies with noodles. The grilled shrimp was perfectly grilled with slightly burnt edge great for the taste. The second dish is the grilled beef with fried rice and sautéed veggies. The beef qualities is good for lunch. Overall our experience is good. Definitely good to return for more.

    Hibachi Steak

This place is good! The staff was friendly and it was a welcoming environment. The only thing hindering me from a 5 star rating is the portion of food, and taste of the noodles. Personally, I've had better noodles and the steak was kind of bland. Other than that the vegetables were cooked extremely well and had a lot of flavor. I would absolutely come again, and maybe try the fried rice next time! The Krab rangoons were also delicious and well worth it. Definitely go for the lunch special to try it.

Beef teriyaki lunch special with fried rice

This place serves big selections of Asian food, including Boba tea, ramen noodle, poky bowls, teriyaki, and hibachi. I was not very hungry, and the price was not particular cheap, so I ordered a beef teriyaki lunch special. It included a can of soda. I got a mango juice. The food was delicious- plenty of tender beef slices and I believed the chef used strong fire stir-fry technique. The edge of the beef was fried till crunchy, which I like. Plenty of vegetable accompanied the beef. Two scoops of fried rice were also quite good- it got enough flavor, but not overwhelming by soy sauce. Decent enough service and the ambience, seating area was not fancy. Yet it was clean and acceptable. Overall, the food is delicious enough for me to come back again.

Shrimp & Salmon Poke Bowl, Ayoki Japan, Lutz, N Tampa

Ayoki Japanese Restaurant is located in Lutz, North of Tampa off State Road 54 & Collier Parkway in a plaza next to Esporta Fitness and Sweet Frog Froyo. Ayoki serves Express Hibachi, Teriyaki, poke bowls, and tea. Food: 8/10 Kitchen Speed: 9/10 Value: 7/10 Service: N/A Ambiance: 4/10 Romantic: 3/10 Ayoki does not offer table service. You have to walk up to the counter to select your toppings, order, pay, and then you can so at whichever open table you'd like. There was 1 person in front of us and the wait was not long to order. The guy creating the orders was not too professionally dressed and had a ton of tats but he was nice. I got the Dynamite Bowl 2 scoops tempura shrimp, cucumber, avocado, green onion, mixed greens, carrot, wakame seaweed, masago, tempura flakes, and spicy mayo sauce for $15.95 which is a bit higher than average but the serving size was large and the dish was tasty. Ayoki's ambiance has an old school run down 80s vibe that makes this spot not ideal for a date. There's brown wood paneling on the walls and nasty old brown tile, ugly uncomfortable brown chairs, and no booth seating. The restaurant could use a serious renovation. The lighting is also bright and not dim or romantic. There's a lot of more modern poke spots with nicer interior decor that cost less than Ayoki. However, the serving size was pretty large and it didn't take too long to get my order.

I got a poke bowl and my kids ordered teriyaki chicken and a hibachi combo. They liked their food. It was clean inside. Other customers eventually came in. There were no other customers during lunch time when we arrived. The cashier helped us order. Someone came out to check on us, I'm guessing the owner. She was friendly. The food was good. I'm guessing because there are a few more popular places to eat that that's why there weren't more people eating inside.

So happy to have a good poke place in the Land O Lakes area. I've tried a couple of other places and they don't give you much of the protein but the price would seem otherwise. Ayoki offered a lot of protein and it tasted so fresh. Please don't forget to get their delicious drinks too which goes well with the meal.

Ayoki now has Boba!! And my goodness are they made to perfection. We've only tried 2 flavors so far: the Ayoki fruit tea and taro milk tea and the ayoki fruit tea is probably the best flavor Boba I've ever had. Ever. It's sweet and tart and refreshing. Just WOW.

I love that it's has a good amount of seating. The décor is modern and clean. The Deerioca plushie cushions along the wall in the seating area are so cute. The drinks are unique. They also offer snacks such as crab rangoons and croffles. The service was pleasant & professional. We were greeted as soon as we entered. Surprisingly, it wasn't that busy on a summer weekday. The Ube Brown Sugar Deerioca Crème Brûlée Milk Tea was delicious! Their signature Deerioca tapioca balls are sweeter (more sugar than honey) than ones I've had at other shops. The crème brûlée is mixed into the drink. Keep that in mind if you have issues with texture. It's more of a clumpy pudding texture than a whipped one. Not a bad thing, but some may not agree. The drink can be customized to your liking. On the other hand, I wasn't too impressed with the Matcha Croffle. The buttery taste that makes these croffles so good was totally nonexistent. I didn't even taste the matcha even though it was sprinkled on top. It's just my opinion, and nothing more. I'd skip the croffle next time, or try another flavor. Otherwise, it was okay for an average waffle. The subtle Harry Potter references are very cool. I've read that the owner is a big Harry Potter fan. Supposedly, the original name of the brand was "Diagon Alley" but was later shortened. If you look real closely at the logo, you'll see the "da" in it. It could stand for anything at this point. I don't know... maybe it's a coincidence that there is a deer in the logo that could be Harry's stag patronus. Either way, there is a definite reference even if it is subtle. It's kind of like finding a hidden Mickey, maybe? Just take a closer look at that boba cup the next time you're there. I'm looking forward to trying more of their unique drinks. It's the perfect stop while shopping at this outdoor mall in the summer heat.

We had boba in mind, and Mochinut came up as the closest shop that could deliver in this regard. My rating factors in the location of the Mochinut here. While it is in the plaza on the westbound side of 56, this location lends itself to avoid the hecticness and heavy traffic that is found in the shops across the highway. Mochinut sits in a plaza is that is relatively tamer and calmer compared to the outlet area. I don't recall any tables and seating outside; if there was, it was maybe a bench or two. As you walk in, you will find a rather spacious interior with both table and lounge-like seating. There were two counter areas - one appeared to be non-operational that particular Saturday. The other (on the left as you walk in) seemed to be the main ordering counter with the displays of the mochi doughnuts. It was also interesting to see one staff manning the entire operation - not unusual for shops like this, but I can definitely see peak periods where more staffing would help. There were also two claw machines that pays out pretty cute stuffed animal prizes to include some Labubus (these machines accept both credit and cash - each game/turn costs $1). We ordered 2 boba-style drinks along with some mochi-style doughnuts. The food and beverages were a bit on the sweeter side, but it served its purpose. While not truly mochi cakes, the mochi-nuts (as the name suggests) were more on the doughy side - they were soft and offered a bit of the chewiness that mochi cakes deliver. Overall, not a bad place to just sit and enjoy for a bit. If you are in the area, whether shopping the outlets or any of the other nearby retailers, and need a quick fix of boba or something sweet, give Mochinut a try.
