Best thing about this place is the service. Servers are very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and shares a parking lot with neighboring businesses. We chose this place for our Mother's Day lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how quickly they accommodated our party of 11. The sushi was delicious, though we found the veggies accompanying the hibachi lacked seasoning. Despite it not being too crowded, the service left something to be desired. This is our third visit here and now ready to provide a review. The ambiance is very nice and clean. The wait staff is "somewhat" prompt in taking the order and getting it right. However, your drinks can get empty before they come by asking if you want a refill. Personally, I like when wait staff fill your glasses "before" going empty and not having to wait or ask. The menu has a good assortment of sushi and hibachi items to select from. We've never tried the hibachi here and only have had sushi here. Like most places the presentation is nice, and many of the rolls are big. In fact, in my opinion they are too big in the sense that you have the customary sushi roll, but then they pile way too much on top of the roll, making it difficult to pick up and it staying together well enough with the chopsticks. (I lived in Asia for several years so quite comfortable in using chopsticks.). The taste of the sushi is a mixed bag. Meaning, some of the rolls such as the spicy tuna has great taste, but others with salmon are a bit flat. In closing, would I come here again? Yea, I would, but not my first choice. If I'm in the area and in the mood for sushi, then yes I would come here but I certainly would not drive out of my way to come here. read more

Everything is new and with all the people that have flooded this area, everything was pretty busy. I made reservations for my bro and I to eat sushi here on a Friday night. He had heard good things and I figured it would be worth a shot, despite the Yelp reviews I came across. Bluefin was busy this evening but not as bad as I expected. I had a reservation but I'm not sure the girl at the hostess stand even checked it. She just seated us when we arrived, which was about 15 minutes early. There was a group gathered for a party and plenty of others around enjoying dinner. At first, the person taking our order took a little while and he ended up stopping to help the table that came in after us, first. When he came to get our drinks, we ordered everything right away. Other reviews of this place mentioned the service was lacking, the food wasn't the freshest among various other things. I'd say our experience was better than the 3 stars this place currently has. Our food took about as long as freshly made sushi should take. It was about 15-20 minutes. My brother and I each ordered two rolls. One from the Bluefin specials and the other from the regular rolls. I got the fancy dragon and the Alaska roll. The fancy dragon roll was presented well. It has shrimp tempura, and cucumber inside, topped with eel, smoked salmon, and eel sauce. The Alaska roll, much simpler, is fresh salmon, avocado, and cucumber. My brother ordered the Volcano roll and the JB roll. My fancy dragon was filling and fresh. Bits of shrimp tempura offered a crunch inside, and the smoked salmon and eel on top offered that sushi aspect with a hit of smoke. I've never had eel before but I did enjoy these. Each piece had either eel or smoked salmon on it. The tails of the shrimps were artfully displayed facing up on the side of the plate. The Alaska roll was tasty, simple, and hit the spot. Traditional-looking roll with rice. It was filled with fresh salmon, avocado, and cucumber and I enjoyed it. In the end, this was a good experience. Decent service, and decent sushi. The lunch special is included soup and salad. I like the onion flakes soup. The ginger salad has a lot yellow sauce. Our lunch dish is the shrimp tempura. We got 4 shrimps tempura, yum, zucchini, onion tempura. The tempura is ok. But I like the shrimp extension to to tip of tempura. We also got three roll combo lunch. It is spicy tuna, spicy mango shrimp, and eel avocado. I like all of them. The mango shrimp is interesting. Because is half cooked shrimp with mango. Sushi is okay... but the tempura shrimp was disappointing. I ordered an Alaskan roll. It was decent. I also got the shrimp tempura with vegetables. The shrimp had such a thick batter. It was too crunchy and not very light like tempura is supposed to taste like - lightly crispy. The other vegetables were the same way. The batter was too thick so the skin just absorbed all of the fried oil. My friend commented on his pork katsu fried rice too. He said the pork was not crispy at all... but rather soft and soggy. The edamame was not fresh. Clearly overcooked because it was very dry. They tried to make the dishes presentational with some fake plants to dress it up, as you can see on my sushi plate. My husband and I were VERY excited to try Bluefin. We heard the opened last week and came in for dinner their first Saturday at 9pm. We were one of like 4 other tables in the entire establishment. They don't have an online presence yet. We did not see a location on google and my husband created the Yelp page. This could explain why a lot of people don't know about them yet. To summarize, it was definitely a place we plan on returning to with hopes they correct their crunchy ingredient in all of the rolls we ordered. The crunchy was either stale or the package was left open because it had a chewy texture and ruined the texture of all the rolls we ordered because they all used crunchy in some manner. We let the man who appeared to be a manager know about the issue, and he said he would definitely check, so we're hopeful for the second visit. Rolls we ordered: regular spicy tuna roll, Fancy Q roll, E sushi roll, and Fire tuna roll. The fish in all the rolls were very fresh and if it werent for the stale crunchy, this was 5 Star. I will update after our next visit. Service was slow as there was only one server and one sushi chef present. I hope as they get busier, the staff numbers increase too. Extremely greasy and about a tablespoon of minced chicken and 4 shrimp. When I called to see if there was some food left out the manager Lawrence screamed at me and told me to bring the food back and he would refund my money. Lawrence may have been the most unprofessional, unpleasant person I have ever been in contact with. If you want Japanese food, Hibachi Express is head and shoulders better and about half the price. As I waked in it smelled fishy. I asked the couple sitting next to us if they ate here before. They said yes, they had the sushi. I was not in the mood for it so I opted for Chicken Katsu. Awful, breaded without panko bread crumbs and cut up as if I ordered hibachi with salty chopped up vegetables. If it wasn't salty is was bland. The miso soap was like drinking soy soup and the salad was a bland blob of dressing. I could not get the waiter to come over for 25 minutes. Finally he did and I told him my entree was horrible. My daughter's rolls were nothing special. The owner was kind enough to remove my entree as I could barely eat it. When you add a decoration to a plate with food it has to be edible. So it's worth stating that this review covers at least three to four visits, as I have been frequenting here weekly while throwing axes in my league. Usually, I stop in and get sushi- a California roll and a shrimp tempura roll. While the pieces are smaller, everything tastes fresh and the service is always good enough with a nice environment inside of the restaurant. Given that I typically get carry out, I hadn't experienced what it was like to dine in, and opted to yesterday. Poking around the menu, I opted to change things up and order Shrimp Fried Rice instead of sushi, and was hopeful that it would be tasty given the consistently good sushi that I have had here the last several weeks. The price for this item was around $12 before other charges were added. When my shrimp fried rice came out, I'm pretty sure I came off surprised as I received several shrimp on top of a pile of white rice with some kind of sweet sauce on top. Barely any egg or flavor in the rice and not even a hint of a vegetable, the syrup didn't really help or hurt this dish too drastically but left me wanting to try my fried rice without this sticky eel like sauce. The shrimp was slightly over cooked and had a rubbery texture, and a good portion of the rice was crunchy due to being undercooked. It was incredibly underwhelming and left me wondering why the chef hated the idea of selling a flavorful and hearty fried rice so much. Overall, hands down the worst fried rice I've ever had. The sushi has always been good enough, but the fried rice was atrocious. That might be the last time I visit for awhile. read more

He went with the rainbow roll and enjoyed every bite. I wanted yellowtail, but they were out, so I got shrimp tempura roll. Crystin is the anti-sushi person and ordered soup, rice and dumplings as her make shift dinner. The funniest part is when Crystin asked the server if they could make her a Margarita! 2.5 stars. I was SO hoping to love this restaurant that is open 12:30 AM to 10 PM on Sunday, & 11:30 AM to 10 PM all other days. Patrons can select dine-in, curbside, or delivery. There's an App for online ordering. Lunch Specials are available from 11 AM to 3 PM Mon thru Sat-- check out the webpage to view them on the easy-to-read menu. I did not read any Yelp reviews for this business prior to patronizing it; I entered w/ an optimistic mind. Open approx 9 months, after eating here I'm worried about this eatery's survival. Before you enter, you'll encounter a handful of outside tables w/ umbrellas. The interior is quite nice-- wide open, a high ceiling w/ an attractive bar, wood-look flooring, & with a modern-ish feel that includes purple accent lighting. (Who doesn't love purple:) The dining room was clean and, of course, quite new. After seeing the simple, yet stylish, decor, we were indeed hopeful. We were greeted quickly by a very nice young man who apologized for "cash only" payment; the card server was having intermittent outages (AKA more often than not unavailable). Our server was very friendly & knowledgeable of the menu. He was indeed helpful (& apologetic). Unfortunately, the first entree we ordered was not available. (I overheard two separate nearby patrons being told their preferred food items were also not available.) Our Miso & Clear Soup were forgotten; the salads were as well. Our food was prepared quickly, which was nice; however, the cooked Salmon Roll was NOT good; it was bland as well as poorly plated-- see pic. (Our server quickly offered to remove it from our bill.) Our two Chicken Hibachis were good & plentiful-- just not great. The small-cut chicken pieces were tender, favorable, & a great fit for our mouths-- see pic. I liked the veggies-- flavorful & seasoned well. Unfortunately, the rice was not flavorful, & it was void of any minced vegetables or egg pieces, etc. We did not eat the broccoli that oddly was not mixed in w/ the other vegetables; it cannot be reviewed. I hoped for noodles to accompany the Hibachi entrees, but they did not. We were provided soy sauce, but we had to request the forgotten Yum Yum Sauce. (It was brought to us w/ another apology.) The sauce was cream-colored & less thick & flavorful than all other Yum Yum sauces I've eaten. The Miso was very salty; I couldn't eat it. I was told the Clear Soup was unimpressive. Our salads were just OK. There were few filled tables when we entered @ 6:30 PM on a Monday & only slightly more when we left over an hour later. As another reviewer mentioned, it was difficult to identify staff. Each wore individual street clothing & not one wore a name tag. Before my companion stood up to walk across the room to request the soup and salad (& later our check), we had to decide who the employees were; that's not good. Will we return either together or individually? Unfortunately, no. Nothing about the food we ate stood out as exceptional. In fact, it was average to sub-par. As many patrons relayed (& we experienced), there are definite service issues that need immediate attention. There also were too many inconsistencies w/ the availability of listed menu items. I heard the gentleman @ the table behind me comment to our shared waiter, "You sure do make a lot of apologies." Management needs to step in QUICKLY to correct all the problems we & others have encountered. I would love for this eatery located near Treble-Makers to not only survive, but flourish. Until I notice a trend of positive reviews, I'll head over to a nearby Hibachi establishment that's at least consistent w/ food & service. read more

This is my go to sushi spot. Seriously wish I could've given more stars. The host/waitress is always so sweet and friendly which is honestly one of the reasons why I come here. I doordash when the weather ain't great, but other than that, who doesn't like to be greeted with a big smile from a beautiful woman ? The food is delicious and the pricing definitely is wallet friendly. Everything tastes really fresh as well, and it's a big plus for me when the sushi rolls don't break apart when you pick it up with your chopsticks. When this place originally opened it was pretty good. The quality of the food has declined and tastes like it's from a frozen bag. There are other options in the area that have much better sushi and hibachi to select from which mush better flavor. Clear soup is easy to make and should not have that mush salt. This was our first time here, and we were able to make a reservation online. The front of house staff were very pleasant and helpful. The restaurant offers beer, wine, and sake as far as alcohol goes, and a wide variety of sushi, and hibachi. The sashimi was to die for, and we really enjoyed most of the rolls. The E roll was a little lack luster, and the music was sort of off putting. They had old school 80's and early 90's country playing, which I didn't necessarily mind, but it didn't add to the experience whatsoever. Will definitely return. read more

After an early morning of driving and a morning of work, I decided to have lunch at Bluefin Japanese Restaurant. I ordered a miso soup, some unagi, a Volcano roll, and a Crazy Dragon roll. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. The miso soup was typical of what you might get at any Japanese restaurant or sushi bar. Miso broth with seaweed and tofu. So good. Same with the unagi. Eel filet on a piece of rice with some eel sauce. The Volcano roll was good. Fake crab, avocado, and cream cheese inside, topped with crab salad, tempura crunchies, and masago. The baked crab salad is what makes this roll. Creamy and delicious. The Crazy Dragon roll was also good. Shrimp tempura and avocado inside, topped with raw tuna, masago, and eel sauce.
