Diane and I recently stayed in this Ayres hotel for two nights while our nearby house in Redlands was recording 89 degrees Farenheit inside. This was just before and during the period when our kaput air conditioning system was being replaced with a new and improved system. It was a pleasant stay. Our king bed room was comfortable, the flat screen TV quite large, available channels numerous, and the air conditioner worked well. Perhaps best of all, the included breakfast was prepared by an on site chef, and included hot Scrambled Eggs and Sausage. I enjoyed the large swimming pool and hot spa all to myself around dusk one of the nights, and it was a nice way to get refreshed from the relentless California afternoon heat in cool water, and then soothe the limbs in warm water afterward. When I notified the desk that no clean towels were available at the pool, they were quickly resupplied. And, even though our room was very near a freeway and well-traveled street, the soundproofing of our room was so good that I heard no noise outside at any time, and both nights slept like a baby. read more

Where do I begin?! This place is a hidden DIAMOND. I knew right when I walked into the lobby that I picked the right hotel for my stay. The staff is extremely friendly, the front desk, the chef, cleaning staff, maintenance. The grounds are incredibly well kept. My room was immaculate clean. Everything functioned as intended, a/c blew ice cold on these triple digit summer days. The breakfast is top shelf. Kudos to the chef. We never left hungry. The security guard watching the cars allowed me to sleep better. The price is incredibly generous given the level of hospitality you recieve here. I can't thank you enough for providing this level of experience. I look forward to the next visit here. Keep up the great work! I stayed at the Ayres Redlands/Loma Linda hotel for two nights with my daughter, who was there for a competition, and we had a disappointing experience. First, I had booked a room with a king bed and a sofa, but upon check-in, I was given a room without a sofa. No problem, we could share the bed. However, the room they assigned us (Room 115) was at the far end of the hallway, and it turned out to be next to the hotel's electrical room. I was disturbed all night by staff coming in and out of that room, dropping things, slamming doors, and talking loudly. When I shared this concern after the first night, I was told the hotel was sold out and no other rooms were available. Unfortunately, we had to endure another night of noise, leaving my daughter with less than three hours of sleep before her competition. My message to the hotel is this: please do not assign guests to Room 115, especially knowing that staff are constantly going in and out during the night. If that room must be used, I urge you to ask your staff to be more considerate of noise during the night. read more

I've stayed here about 5 times because it's a safe place with our disabled child and he loves the pool here. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. Karina at the front desk provided outstanding customer service and great support. She welcomes with a friendly smile and she's very accommodating. I love the breakfast here as well. Out of all the Ayres we've been to the breakfast at this location is has always been the best thanks to Pedro! I see Pedro every time. Pedro's omelette date absolutely amazing! Perfectly acceptable hotel. We stayed here as a family for my sisters wedding and the hotel was close to the venue, so it worked out nicely. There was a pool and a fitness center (neither of which I used so I can't comment on their quality, simply letting y'all know they exist). We were hanging on the patio in the evening as a family and were kicked out at 10:.30, on the dot. I guess there's a city ordinance. The bridal party were able to utilize the conference room to get ready. The hotel provides breakfast in the morning however I didn't eat it. The rest of my family seemed to enjoy it thought. Our room itself was good. We had a small couch and a large comfortable bed. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great but we were able to get by. read more

I was quite content with our choice to stay at the Ayres, though initially I was a little surprised at the location.. just under a Hwy 10 overpass (though also next door to El Burrito). Clean room with ample space and amenities, clean pool area, friendly staff, security patrol in parking area, and a great breakfast served by nice folks. We will stay again next time we are in Redlands. Others in my family have been coming here for years. (I'd give them a 5 but mattress was less than great and the water pressure on second floor was also less than great.) Still, good hotel for the price! Almost an identical incident happened to Marissa C. who left a review 8/4/19 AND Ana C. who also left a similar review on 8/26/21. All our belongings were stolen while we were gone, including MacBooks, AirPods, SSN cards, entire luggages of brand new clothing, and a car fob - thousands of dollars worth of belongings, leaving some of us 6 girls with only the clothes on our backs for the rest of the time we were forced to stay at this hotel since our car keys, thousands of dollars in cash, and debit/credit cards were stolen. The hotel refused to turnover footage to the police, the police cited no signs of forced entry, and the hotel reviewed the security footage themselves and said they did not see anyone except us come in and out of our hotel room. When another one of us left a review talking about the situation, they asked us to delete the brutal review while the investigation was still "ongoing". When we talked about the situation on social media, they also asked us to delete it because their comments became flooded with people holding them accountable for their lack of help and communication. We did delete everything and asked people to leave them alone. Weeks, months, years pass and nothing came of it. Just be warned there's something suspicious going on here. read more

One of the more "upscale" hotel in the Redlands areas. I stayed here for 2 weeks on a business trip and checked out recently. Hotel stay was good but it could be much better for the price they charged. The bed was uncomfortable and the blankets had a fabric that didn't feel good on my skin. This was one of my main complaints about this hotel. The other being how its layout of entry and exiting ur rooms from the second floor. Whomever designed this hotel gets an F for this. If you're on the second floor, there's not a quick way to enter and exit your room from the outside. You had to go through a maze just to get in. Very stupid layout. The gym was abysmal with just a few treadmills. That's it. Breakfast was just OK and the Latino chef was pretty rude. I do love the free charging for my Tesla and that's the main reason why I decided to stay here for 2 weeks. If you can get the bottom floor rooms for ease of getting in and out. PROs: clean, spacious room.Free charging for my Tesla! Yay! Biggest selling point for me and only reason why I stay here. CONs: breakfast was Ok.Uncomfortable bed and blankets. Unfriendly, older Latin "chef" at the breakfast kitchen. Not practical layout to ether/exit from room to the outside from the 2nd floor. So this hotel is really 3 stars for me but the free electric car charging gets another star. read more

This is really an astounding place. Sol the receptionist is wonderful. I stayed up at Twin Peaks for the day and found this place to stay at night. I couldn't have asked for a better place then this. My sleep was very relaxing with the air conditioning on to block outside noise. I did have an issue with the curtains. OMGoodness, I thought those curtains would be open all night, until I figuered out how to close them. This is by far the cleaness place I've stayed at. Now the breakfask, brunch whatever you want to call it was a total letdown. From the cold sausage to barely cooked eggs and hard small cut potatoes and a very miserable looking person serving them. Apple picking in Oak Glen. Ain't shit else but apple farms, mountains and dirt. And searching for a bed and breakfast in the area to stay the night and continue apple picking the next morning wasn't an option. Serendipity B&B was the only choice, but that place had been booked solid for months. However, luck would have it that the Ayres Hotel in Redlands, only a 10-15 minute drive from Oak Glen, was wiiiiiiide open. Let's roll. The rooms were big and wonderful! Clean and fresh linens. Big bathtub. Hot water that heated quickly! (important in my book) Awesome shower pressure! (important in my book) Nice flat screens. Free WORKING WiFi. Jacuzzi! Pool. And a big ass hot breakfast buffet served in the morning. Omelettes, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage, bacon, bagels, coffee, cereal, toast, yogurt, boiled eggs, oatmeal, plenty of fruit, all types of juice, and a make your own waffles station. Plus I'm sure I'm forgetting something else. They served a shitload of breakfast. Not only was it almost the only option in the area, but it was a GREAT option! This place was God sent. Even if they choose to build more hotels here, I'm pretty sure those places still won't compare to The Ayres Hotel. 5 f*cking stars! I love you. And so far as breakfast is concerned, the man who is the chef/server is a smart ass and cocky little guy, the set up needs improvement and compared to the other Ayres hotels the food is not that good!!!!!!!! I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The person staying with me was like "uhh it's a motel?!" Even though he booked it! And yes, the doors open to the open air, though you have to go through the lobby to get to any of them, which actually makes parking onerous. The rooms are very large and the second floor had vaulted ceilings. We had lots of room to pack our many bags for two separate flights after a wedding. You can certainly hear people if they are talking when walking to their rooms outside. Soundproofing is also not the greatest between rooms. The bathroom was great and shower had a lot of power and I loved that conditioner came in a smaller bottle, as it always should! The toilet needs a heavy hand on the flush to actually get anything down. Breakfast is free but it was too early for me to think of eating. I'd stay here again. read more

I give this establishment -2 stars. I give the staff 3 stars. Hence, the 1 star review. It's a glorified motel 6. I literally had to walk to the front desk 7 times during a 24 hour stay because the key card got deactivated for being next to my phone. The front desk knows all about this and even told me, don't keep your key card by your phone. Are we in a twilight zone episode?!? Is it 1999? I don't know, but when has a room card gotten deactivated by being by a phone? I don't know either. Oh wait, yesterday and today. Smh. The staff was accommodating, and worked with me. Generally, nice and helpful. But let's be honest. This is a motel. Small hallways. Can't even move a regular baby stroller past housekeeping carts. Heard housekeeping discuss how much they could sell leftover belongings in a room. Wtf? Last resort, I guess stay here? Idk. But when it costs the same to stay here as a Marriott in Orange County, maybe drive the 91 to Orange County. And everyone knows that's saying a lot, as the 91 freeway sucks. Let's call this the "91 freeway suites" Irritating, crappy, and lots of traffic. I will never stay at this establishment again. read more

I had a nice stay, for business, at this location. I was a bit concerned about noise since my room was near the pool, but the quiet hours were respected and it was good. I only stayed here one night, but my experience was great. Clean, open room with coffee machine, refrigerator and safe. The only negative things is I had asked for no first floor and got a parking lot room (door open to parking lot), however, I did request a room last minute and they may have been booked upstairs. The staff is very helpful and goes out of their way to tell you more about the amenities. The gym was clean and all of the equipment worked. The pool/spa was pretty packed so I didn't use those. Despite being busy, I had a quiet night's sleep. I'd stay here again! read more

I chose this hotel because of the great ratings and location. It's an ok room. I did really like the fact that there isn't carpeting and that they allow dogs. The tv was a nice size. Breakfast looked good, but I didn't have it. The problems were 1. Our comforter, the down feathers were stuck in little hard balls through out. I'm not sure why anyone making the bed would place it on there in the first place. We had to call the front desk to get a new one. But they didn't have any. Gave us a blanket instead. 2. No extra pillows in the closet. The bed only had 3. The pillows were very flimsy and small not ideal when you only get one. (husband got 2) 3. The bed seemed to be at an angle with our feet higher than our heads which is uncomfortable 4. We normally need a fan noise to sleep with. They did not have one fan! 5. The air conditioner in our room wasn't working. We had to call front desk again to figure out why. My husband had to learn reset it. Most hotels have an air system that will stay on automatically. This one did not. 6. Due to not having a fan noise. We could hear other guests talking late into the night around us. Needless to say we didn't sleep very good. read more

Karina was a lifesaver, quickly accommodating my requests when weather conditions prevented us from getting to our destination in Lake Arrowhead and left my new husband and I stranded on our wedding weekend. She turned a stressful and disappointing situation into a huge relief and I'll be forever grateful! I appreciated the immaculate property, and it was super quiet and peaceful despite being next to a freeway. The room quality exceeded the price point and the fireplace was terrific. Very rare to find hotel rooms with fireplaces! This was also the only hotel I've ever been in that had a device to lower those in wheelchairs into the swimming pool. What a thoughtful and lovely touch. Between Karina's kindness and service, the quality of this hotel, and the fact their pet fees aren't unnecessarily outrageous, Ayers will be first on my mind when looking into regional accommodations in the future. read more

Pros: Like the quiet of the room, refrigerator, blankets, bed and pillows. Toast, bagels and coffee were delish. I don't k ow who checked us in, but she was a gem with a smile on her face and answered all my questions. We stayed over Friday the 6th. Cons: Room was too bright at night. The outside lights were coming in because the curtains were too short in length. Went down to breakfast an hour after it started. All food at the buffet was on the verge of cold. Eggs were soggy, potatoes undercooked, sausage ewww. Shower hot water wasn't very hot even though the vanity hot water was. Kind of weird. Not much water pressure. One of the housekeepers with their cart coming out of the elevator kept repeating move more move more to my 5 year old grandson in a rude tone of voice. I'm giving 3 stars mostly for the girl at checkin and the quietness of the room. read more

First the good: The beds are comfy, the staff is friendly, parking is adequate, and the breakfast is quite tasty, and the food choices were plentiful. The rooms are clean and well appointed. The bad: All that doesn't matter if you don't have the one thing you booked a room for...sleep. THIS IS ONE NOISY HOTEL. On my weekend, there were two wedding groups that partied-down by the pool, quite loudly until 10PM. Since the patio was right outside my door, it was quite unpleasant, and since the hotel was full, they could not move me to another room. I do understand that guests have a right to be festive until 10. I'm not that unreasonable. But after 10 the party moved indoors to the lobby/dining area which was directly on the other side of the wall of my headboard. I politely asked the reception desk if they could enforce quite hours after 10, but I was told that quiet hours did not apply to the lobby area, and they could party down there into the wee hours of the night. Which they did. Just to give you an idea of the epic level of their socializing, the wedding party was out once more the next morning drinking beers in the hot top at 9am. As an extra bonus, whomever was staying in the room above me were either a group of elephants or a troop of flamenco dancers, I don't know which. But wait there's more...at 1 am there was a "side-show" in front of the the hotel, where the locals closed off the street, drove in circles and burned rubber for quite some time. Finally the cops came with sirens blaring to break up the festivities. That was super relaxing for anyone trying to sleep. Now, I realize that those may have been one-time issues and may not occur when you book your room. But..., but did I mention that there is a train track close by and you also get to be awakened by a train horn every couple of of hours? I'm pretty sure that isn't going to change. Oh, and to top it all off, in my sleep deprived halucinogenic state, I left my Apple charger in the room, but somehow no one was able to find it. But I didn't really need a charger, because the wi-fi is the worst ever. Will I be coming back? No. I'd rather sleep in the car at a truck stop. read more

We went to stay at this hotel for 4 nights for an event by the university. The hotel looks like Italian style architecture from the outside and when I walked inside, I saw this mini fountain that makes the place look very stylish! I love Italian style things so I fell in love with this hotel at the first sight. The hotel room we had was very spacious and looking over the court yard with lots of privacy. A high ceiling is another feature that I liked about this hotel. Apart from that, there's an about 40 inch tv, a mini fridge, a super easy-to-use coffee maker and a microwave for the guests, pretty normal standard. The air-conditioning ran very good. It didn't take too long for the whole room to cool down at over 100F temperature. The bathroom was very clean and well-maintained. Oh and the bed felt so comfy!! I had really good sleep for my 4-day stay. They offer free breakfast at the hotel from 6-9 am which is really cool! There are lots of selections from yogurt, mike with cereals to freshly cooked scrambled eggs and sausages. You can have fruits after that as well. The hot coffee and passion fruit juice are our favorites. The hotel cleaning staff and front desk staff are super nice and always ready to help guests with their needs. I had asked them for silverwares and plates and they got them for me in a second. I enjoy staying at here a lot! Definitely a five-star experience. read more

I think the hotel is old, yet kept well. It has the dark wood thru out in elevator,bed headboard,and furniture. Bathrooms were clean and room also was clean. We spent some time at the pool. The pool was on the small size but perfect and private. Hot tub also. Towels out in pool area. One big negative... if it was not for this I would have given it a nice 5. The sewage truck backed in under our window about 9:30 am. the smell was so bad we were gagging and feeling sick. We just threw our clothes on and left. Wedding Bliss. Stayed here with family and friends when my son was married at The Homestead in Oak Glen. We had the rehearsal dinner for 40 here too. Catering worked with me to put together a beautiful Italian buffet and we were able to bring our own dessert. The room size was perfect, and with some flowers and colorful tablecloths the room was festive. Staff, especially Kate Jordan, were incredible to work with and made every accommodation for us. Stayed here for my wedding and this place did not disappoint! The staff was beyond sweet and accommodating to not only me but to all of our guest that stayed there as well. We had a block of rooms booked up and everyone I talked to after the wedding said how much they loved the hotel and everyone that worked there! While we were there, they allowed us to use their conference room the night before the wedding to make my floral arrangements. The following night they once again allowed all of my guests and I to use their lobby and conference room for my after party. Everyone that works at this hotel is amazing and so caring! My wife and I stayed for a week at this hotel and were thoroughly pleased. Based on reviews we read, we booked a room on the second floor facing the pool enclosure. The room was great; the bed very comfortable. We swam nearly every day and enjoyed the hot tub. The complimentary breakfast was very good, especially during the week when cook Pedro and Gloria were involved. They are real pros and super nice! Pedro cooks scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage and bacon and will even flip an omelet if requested. After breakfast, if you're hungry there is a burrito and Mexican food place next door we really liked. Across the street is a Shakey's Pizza. Also, the front desk is staffed 24-7, which is convenient and all staff were invariably pleasant and helpful. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and strongly recommend it! read more

My family is currently staying here. We just sold our home and are getting some things in order before we leave California. This Hotel is fantastic. We were originally at another Hotel that was more expensive and had nothing to offer, their idea of a continental breakfast was a granola bar and a mini water bottle in a paper bag. Not the case here at Ayres! They are cooking made to order breakfast of your choice and its delicious. The pool is also open unlike the previous place we stayed. Room is super clean and accommodating with a couch for day use or pull out bed for additional sleep space. AC works great, we really have zero complaints. All staff members have also been very welcoming. We will look forward to staying in more Ayres locations in our future. read more

Well okay. At first it was going to be a low star review because of the whole credit card authorization form thing. I have never experienced a hotel/motel that does that where if someone books the room other than your name and credit card they have to fill out a form to authorize executing a charge, etc. Anyway...be prepared for that experience if someone will be booking the room for you. Although that hiccup which resulted in a long conversation with the front desk person and the person who booked the room for me there are redeeming qualities of this place! Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and staff (when all is said and done) are nice, considerate and humorous. My friend and I had a delayed flight and that brought us to our late check in (10pm) and stressed selves...the staff person at the desk felt for us and we were given some drinks...from the manager special cabinet that usually doesn't happen in the weekend? It was a nice treat/nightcap and It was a welcomed experience of hospitality for the troubles that we had experienced that was out of our hands. And second is the breakfast. Wonderful and modest hot food that is prepared daily. The cook "Pedro" greets everyone with sir or lady (which made me laugh) and prepares the food with great care. No water pressure and yelling shower heads. A shower that takes 2 hours to properly get all the soap off the body. I really appreciate the attitude from the kitchen cook chief guy after asking for a second plate. So scrambled eggs and potatoes and Denver omelette came Extreme attitude with dirty looks. I stay for two weeks and spent $2,000.00 to stay at the Ayres and got this service.
