I have paid a total of $446.00 out of pocket for the services I received from this office. That is after an $80 credit. I did receive bills for even more money, but I left a negative review on Yelp and was contacted by the practice. I was told I should ignore the bills I was sent because the practice has no control over their system and it sends out bills whether money is owed or not. My experience of medical practices is that an estimate of service costs is provided prior to provision of services and it does not tend to be hundreds of dollars off base. I don't recommend the practice simply because their patients should have a reasonable understanding of what a service will cost. It's too much of a risk. There are many dental practices out there that can tell you precisely what you will owe them for your care and that have gained complete mastery over their billing system. But no complaints about the clinical care.

I saw that they offered iv sedation and was immediately interested. I've tried gas and pills before and the gas only gave me more anxiety and I hated the way it made me feel. The pill I was given honestly I didn't feel have any effect on me still panicking about the whole thing. So I decided to schedule a consultation. I walked in and was immediately greeted, and called back for my scan and treatment plan exam. I'm terrible with names but I believe her name was Julie she was so amazing, she made me feel so comfortable and comforted. I immediately felt safe, and at ease even though inside I was feeling overwhelmed. Dr Gasser popped in to say hi to me and said he would be with me shortly. Prior to this visit he also called me on the phone to get a better explanation of what my dental past has been. Which I found pleasantly surprised. He did his exam on me, came up with a plan and I left feeling almost looking forward to having my procedure done. Which I can say is never something I'd normally say. I felt welcomed, and I feel that they will take care of me and my needs. And it was just the consultation, I've never left a dental place feeling that way. Glad I made the appointment, and looking forward to my continued care.

According to my insurance benefits, scaling and root planing for all four quadrants is covered at 80%, leaving me responsible for 20% of the allowed amount. However, the initial estimate appeared to reverse that split. After I raised the issue, the amount was adjusted, but my quoted responsibility still exceeded 30% without justifications or explanation. My insurance benefits also indicate that fluoride application is covered at 100%, yet I was asked to pay for it. Because the insurance calculations and out-of-pocket costs remained unclear, I declined the treatment and left the office. I hope the practice improves its insurance verification process and provides patients with clear, accurate, and itemized cost estimates before treatment.

Then after signing agreements to clean teeth during the period after care for a total of $145 they said the price went up and it's $177 top and $177 bottom. Plus xrays. It's sad to figure if you get implants and you live another 10 years the new teeth will have cost you over $20 a day! They do not care if the teeth come in wrong size wrong color. I selected Burns because they accepted my insurance. The dentist I left told me not to go with…read morethem because they were less expensive even if they didn't accept my insurance. I was sure that with my insurance it would be less expensive to go with another dentist because I had the "Cadillac" of dental coverage. As it turns out even with insurance coverage I was paying so much more at Burns than at other dental offices. As an example Burns cost for a procedure I needed done was $25000+. When I told them the cost was too much they said they would discount it to $22000+. I went to three other dentists and I found one to do the exact same procedure for $10300. In addition Burns began charging 3.5% to use a credit card. I decided to change dentists because of those two issues. Through the years I found them to be about twice as expensive as other dental offices. On my last procedure the dentist charged $319 for "flipper teeth". At Burns I paid $970 for a "flipper tooth". When I left they sent me a bill for over $500. They said this was for a claim that was denied because of frequency. They did the procedure in 2023 and they did the same procedure in 2025. If it failed in 3 years they should have done it for gratis I would think.
