The reviews almost scared me off from this place but I like how they are open later and on weekends so I gave them a try. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I had to have a new patient appt. And the first appt was actually amazing. They had incredible technology , new modern xray machines, and the drs and staff were friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It seemed to be a few notches above the rest! Then I came back to have my tooth pulled and I had an older dentist who sat there for nearly an hour (50 min) trying to pull my tooth. He had to start drilling and cutting my tooth into a bunch of pieces to try pick out what he could. Meanwhile a new training dental tech was assisting and his trainer kept leaving him and he literally left horrible massive bruising and gave me a fat lip because he was pinching my lip and holding it back with a tool and he didn't know it was pinching me and of course I didn't either! I finally got outta there and a few days later after tons of pain I had a dry socket had to come back and have another DR help me clean out and gave mouth rinse. And sent me on my way. This office is group/ corporate owned and has been bought out by Navajo smiles. They only have temp workers ( or permanent workers who quit in a week) My husband and I both have had issues with scheduling ( they don't actually enter the appointments ) and if by chance you do have an appointment be prepared to wait in the waiting room for an hour until they tell you " you can leave or wait another hour " they are also incompetent at submitting insurance claims. Normally, I love going to the dentist but today was a terrible experience. I was scheduled to get a crown, had them done before but first time at Pleasant Dental. I arrived and was told that I may not be able to get my crown the same day as promised because their scanner was not working. Then finally the dentist came in and said they switched the monitor so it was working. He did the scan and then dropped it and broke the machine and left. Where to begin. This will be a rather long post! Last year my tooth was throbbing my normal dentist was closed on the weekends so I decided to give them a try since I was in pain. Went in and they said I needed a root canal and crown. Scheduled me in on a Tuesday for that process to begin. At the time I saw a Dr B. who is no longer there. She started the root canal that took hours to complete as it apparently seemed she wasn't comfortable preforming this procedure. The root canal is done and they begin to remove the tarp contraption that was covering my mouth. The look on the dental tech face was shear terror. They burned my tongue! Bad chemical burn from the bleach they used to do the root canal my tongue hurt for 2-3 weeks and had to be given antibiotics and a antibiotics mouth wash and some sort of numbing rinse. I forgave her and understood accidents can happen. Went back to get my crown put in that they had created in a lab. I kept telling DR B that it didn't feel right. It felt to wide. She didn't listen to me and told me well it takes a while for your tongue to learn to get used to it. Tongues are funny little things she said. About a month later I was on vacation visiting family and the crown feel out. Went back in and saw a different Dr who was and still is a very nice man. He created a new crown for me that for like a charm. About a year and a couple months later I receive a bill in the mail for them trying to collect more money from me from what they say was left over from my insurance not paying. Unfortunately, after talking to my insurance company they knew up front how much my insurance was going to cover and my portion which I already paid. Seems to me that they are trying to collect money from a new crown that they had to cover. Now, since I really did like the Dr that did my crown fitting I decided to go back in because I was having severe sinus pain and swollen glands to see if it could be teeth related. Ended up that I had 2 previous root canals done from a different dental office go bad. Had to have a back molar extracted and needed to have a emergency redo root canal. Was referred to a Endodontists for the redo root canal and was told to call in after I get that taken care of for a apt same day or the next day since it was important with how bad my infection is to get this taken care of. Get that done yesterday called there office to be dismissed and pushed out a week. Called earlier in the morning and left a message with the answering service to let them know I needed to schedule this appointment and never got a call back. Told them that is not what this dr said to do. She says, let me talk to my office manager gets on the phone and says we can get you in with another provider. I am not going to see another provider when I already don't trust other Doctors after my first experience. I began to vocalize my frustration and tell her don't bother trying to fit me in I'm Done dealing with the excuses from this office! My response back to the owner: 05/22/2022 Dan: I appreciate the response but almost everything you said in this response is inaccurate. I did not call Friday night I called Friday morning and appointment was set for afternoon, I found that I was not able to make this appointment and called back and office gave me the evening time. They never said Oh dr will stay late, they set the appointment. I never asked the dentist to look at the lower left side of my mouth nor was it sore. He just did and started examining it to the point I had to direct him to the area of my concern. AFTER we discussed the top portion which was where pain was I then said food tends to get between crowns. That was it. Regarding my insurance I have Cigna which your staff stated Yes we take Cigna it is great!. Regarding a fee, I would hope they would not charge me since they wanted to xray my full mouth instead of just the issue I came in for. Stating you reviewed the video and I said bye to staff and seemed happy is seriously nothing but a lie. I talked to the front desk and was a bit frustrated that they were not aware of my prescription whatsoever, the assistant then stated she would call it in. To say that the RX was finish taking prescriptions, the pharmacy I gave them is open 24 hrs. Though I found out the next day after numerous calls from that night on that they did not even call my prescription in to the correct pharmacy. Nobody ever tried to follow up by text. Your staff stated this and that was not true. Plus to even follow up by text when a patient is leaving messages on the after hour line of the pain they are in is just so unprofessional. I stand my first review, I would never come there again, many people I know have the same assessment of this office. The errors that were made were just one right after another with really no true apology but more so excuses and lies as this response to me was. Dan N. I normally don't go into this much detail and research, but your narrative grossly misrepresents what actually happened, and I owe it to my team to let others who may read this know how they actually performed. Here are the events as they unfolded in the records: You called Friday evening wanting to be seen for pain. Dr Lyons stayed past his shift to see you at 6pm. Xrays showed a possible infection behind the top left tooth. You told him that you have severe anxiety with dental treatment (which is quite common) and requested to be "knocked out". Because of the pain and anxiety, you would not allow Dr Lyons to physically check the area, and since we can't sedate, he recommended a specialist for that tooth since it has already had a root canal (which makes things much more complex). Next, you asked him about the lower back left, which had been sore. He explained that the crowns don't touch, which lets food get stuck in between them, causing the gums to swell and inflame. At your request, they gave you a plan to replace JUST those crowns and shape them to stop the food impaction (4 of your 8 crowns; not "ALL my crowns", as you stated in your review). This plan had steeply discounted fees. (Since we're not on your insurance, they used your insurance's fees instead of our normal ones.) No other areas were brought up by you, and no other treatment was proposed. Dr recommended antibiotics prior to seeing the specialist and wrote the Rx. The appointment then ended, FOR WHICH YOU PAID $0.00. (Many are suprised that if we're unable to help solve a patient's problem, we don't ask to be paid for our time.) According to cameras and staff, you seemed very satisfied while in-office, thanking my team as you left. Unfortunately, it seems the pharmacy closed out their system before filling the Rx (due to the late hour of your appointment, which is not uncommon). Once my office manager found out (via the answering service typically only monitored for emergencies), she took the time (at home, mind you) to move the prescription to the nearest 24hr location. She tried to follow up by text, just in case. (I have screenshots of the text; maybe she had a wrong number or typed it wrong in the phone, but she DID make extra effort to help, which is typical of her.) I strongly disagree with your implied definition of "professional". It's EXTREMELY professional and caring to take time following up with a patient out of empathy and concern, ESPECIALLY when they are doing it "off the clock" with NO obligation (or compensation) for doing so. So my bridge came out so I went to Pleasant dental to have it glued back in and they told me it was not possible because they said it was no good. I didn't have it done there and I left and forgot it on the tray table. I called and asked them to put it on the plastic bag and I would come pick it up first thing in the morning and they said they would. The message was never relayed and somebody there threw it on the garbage. So when I went to pick it up I waited a half an hour just to have them say it was thrown away. MY Bridge that I just got in August was gone! I now can not get a second opinion nor can I take it back to where I originally had it done so they could possibly help me in getting a new one. This is pure negligence on their part and they keep giving me excuses like it's my fault because I left it there. They had no right to throw my personal property away period! I have missing front teeth, my self esteem is gone and they are not owning up to their HUGE debacle! Sorry but this was the worst experience I have had at a dentist. I am 65, spent many hours in dentist chairs. I have fillings, 6 root canals, caps, crowns, a bridge and implants. So I feel I can adequately evaluate. Dentist had the bed side manner of a rock, never engaged or told me what he was doing. In fact he made it clear I was a terrible patient and was totally irritated with me because I could not unlock my jaw and open wide enough. When he asked me to move my head to right side, it was not far enough for him. He huffed and stood up and made it clear this was difficult for him. Doing root canal, he hit a nerve and I about jumped out of the chair. Instead of stopping to add more numbing juice, he just kept going until I had to tell him to stop. Then instead of gently using the needle to numb as he inserted the needle, he jammed it in the nerve and said, sorry just what I have to do. The whole time he talked about how he needed to leave to attend other matters as he had a life. Did not stay for complete procedure. Once he prepped the tooth, he told the assnt you have it from here. Fine but he did not say a word to me about what was left or anything. At that point my tooth was hurting worse then I had ever had a tooth hurt. I told him several times, nothing. Then the dental assnt was the worst. Started out they could not get the right equipment I. The room, constantly running in and out. Pearly never worked with this dentist before, had no idea what he wanted or needed...was like the keystone cops episode. Dr asked her to hold down my touge, instead of holding at the front she kept jamming the instrument in the back of my throat and gagging me, every time the dr would get more irritated at me. I literally considered half way through the procedure to just get up and leave, it was that bad. The dental assnt kept trying to clear my mouth with a long straight plastic piece instead of the round suction, she just had no idea. I finally had to tell her to stop using that and use the other round suction. So she did, stuck it in my mouth. I had to take it out to tell her to turn it on... when she was doing the scan for the crown, knowing my tooth is killing me at that point. She kept hitting my tooth with the equipment. Finally someone else came in to belt and took over. While the dr was doing the root canal, she decided I was to flat on the table and that was why I was gagging. So when the dr stepped out she raised the table. He came back in and told her to put it back. She started to and he said just leave it so he could get started. While he is working she started moving the table again.... Then dr wanted an X-ray to see the position of the root canal, simple right. Took her almost 20 minutes to get one X-ray. She did it over and I we again, not getting the right angle and killing my mouth. At the end, after enduring at least 20 minutes of the prepping and scanning, smacking my tooth, ma hung going down and having someone else again come it to help, they asked another dr there to give me another shot...after everything is done and I was in so much pain. They just did not care. And, the dentist that did the work never asked or offered anything after the procedure for pain or infection. I asked the second dr for a prescription for something stronger then just Tylenol and he gave me a prescription. So, dentist just irritated I made his work hard and did not want to be there, zero communication except to tell me what I was doing wrong to make his job harder. Dental assnt completely incompetent, no other way to describe. And just for context, since I have had so many procedures with several different dentist and specialist, EVERY SINGLE ONE told me what a great patient I was and how I made their job so easy. _______________________________ that was my post three weeks ago. now for update although they say same day crown, clearly they did not do that as dentist was in a hurry to get out. so went back two weeks later. put me in the chair, have trouble getting temporary out, but ok just want to get done. then they come in and numb me again. then they pack around the tooth again. at this point I am very confused but again I just want to get out of here. They scan again. then they ask me if I can come back later in the day? What? yea, they don't have any material to make the crown. so I asked why it was not already made as the did all the scans last time I was there. they only then informed me they lost all the previous scans and had to start over. now, why would you not tell me that when I arrived and explain the situation, would have been much more agreeable. But to not tell me anything until I question them is just extremely unprofessional. I will never step foot in this place again and be sure everyone I know does not. I went to another dentist to get the crown done, paying for the crown a second time...worth it to not be tortured by these unprofessional folks again. read more

However, I encountered a dental emergency, and the receptionist was very nice and happy to get me in the next day. (I couldn't come in on the same day.) They did not put pressure on me and discussed the facts about my situation with me. The center is further away from me than a lot of dental clinics I could go to, but I am staying with them because of how they accommodated my need. I have been been there 3 times and every time the customer service has been awesome!! My tooth broke on a Friday night and they were open on a Saturday. I was a walk in and they saw me that same day. They not only did a root canal/crown they did a build up and crown on another tooth that needed it. There was also no pain at all except for the tiny prick of the shots which I absolutely hate getting. But even that wasn't bad. I didn't have any pain after or even the days following.
