Stopped by around 6pm on a Thursday for a quick dinner! The interior is really clean, has really great decor, and overall very spacious. Service was quick and the menu is pretty large with choices of wraps, salads, entrees including plates of kabobs. We got the lamb kabob and beef koobideh which you can get with a side of salad or rice, or half salad/half rice and also comes with pita bread. My only complaint was that it was a little dry and I would love if it included hummus/sauce on the side which is a $1 extra. Other than that, the service and location are excellent and definitely would return for a quick lunch or dinner in the future! read more

Solid place for delicious real food made to order. Order at the counter and they bring to you. The chicken kabob plate with rice and salad is delicious. Needs a sauce which is an extra side order. I'll be back! read more

Such fabulous food! The service cant be beat. I tried the kubideh and it was mouth watering. Its on par with kubideh I've had in Istanbul. Their rice is so fragrant and perfect- no rice cookers here. It's hard to think of good food descriptors after such an exquisite meal. On top of that, the atmosphere is so welcoming and beautiful. The lady up front who i assume is the owner hooked me up with a discount when she heard it was my first time in! So much hospitality! 10 out of 10 would recommend! I tried this place in North Scottsdale while I was visiting someone at the Mayo Clinic Hospital. I picked it because it had great ratings and it did not disappoint! I tried the Shirazi Salad, the Baba Ganoush, and some Gyro meat with Taziki It was all super yummy! The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating instead of 5 is because it looked a tad bit unkempt when I was in there. The dining area has formal modern farmhouse look and there was plenty of seating with a high top table and some regular 4 tops. The following things gave me the "unkempt" impression: First, there was an unattended mop in the dining room, second, some tables were left uncleared and, third, there was a lot of stuff stacked in the hallway like it was a storage area. These things kinda kill the clean vibe. I probably just caught them after the lunch rush, but I think this would turn some patrons off so I thought it was important to mention. I personally still plan to visit again and to try some of their other delicious offerings. I am most excited to try the Stews, the Kebabs, and the Saffron Ice Cream Sandwich! read more

We were in the mood to try something different and we thought we'd stop in this tiny little restaurant. Wasn't expecting much but we were WOWED at the food. Almost as good as the Persian room for much less money. We will return. The chicken and the barberry Rice was excellent for fast food restaurant. Affordable, clean and very nice Middle Eastern food. I'm a veg and had the falafel wrap which was excellent. My family had the chicken and beef kebabs which they said was great. It's hard to find Greek/Middle Eastern restaurants open on Sunday but this will be our goto from now on it's that good. read more

I had a Greek salad with chicken and it was AMAZING!! The salad was fresh and crisp and tasty... and the chicken was SO juicy and flavorful! It was perfect!! Authentic Persian food that's convenient enough for a quick bite. Whether you're stopping here for lunch or dinner, take out or dine-in, the food here is a must! My 3-year old son always requests kabob when we're in the area getting a haircut! The way the restaurant is set up, gives it a modern take on the typical Persian restaurant theme and they now have plexi-glass borders between each table giving you your own space. AZKH is a super trendy Persian restaurant! Food is good and people are friendly. We got the chicken soultani plate and the chicken wrap. Both were excellent in quality and perfect in quantity. For dessert, we got the saffron ice cream sandwich. Surprisingly, the ice cream's taste consist more of rose water than saffron. It was still delicious though. I ordered 2 Greek salads for pickup and got 2 traditional salads instead. I didn't realize till I got home so I called and they said to bring the traditional salads back and they would exchange it for the Greek salads. I tipped the guy the first time just cause the service was good (Before they gave me the wrong order). The second time I tipped again just because he was going to exchange it for the Greek salad, and in my head, that was going to be good service. When I gave them my traditional salad, I see the cook taking the same salad I gave them and just throwing Feta and Olives on there and then hand it right back to me. When I asked if it was the same thing, the cashier said it is the exact same thing just wth Feta and Olives. My "Greek salad" has carrots and corn in it. Pretty sure that is not what other Greek salads at this restaurant have. Absolutely ridiculous to have drove all the way back after the first mess up, to tip generously, and get terrible service. read more

Wanted something different for dinner. Found this restaurant on Yelp and gave it a go. I haven't had Kabobs since leaving California 20 years ago and this place hit my heart strings. We started off with Baba Ganosh which was OK and served with 1 pita. I had the Chicken Soltani and my wife had the Chicken Kabob. Everything was fresh. The rice was nice and fluffy and the chicken and beef Kabob was wonderful, tasty and served at a nice temperature. read more

Well this was not what I expected from AZ Kabob house! Very pleasantly surprised! I was thinking it was going to be like skewers, the other Mediterranean place that used to be there, but it was definitely better! I loved the setup, the tables and lamps are adorable. Has a cool rustic feel which I am totally into. I did notice it smelled a tad funky when I went in there though. Not terrible but a bit off. Same with the bathrooms, except that smelled strongly of bleach. My only real complaint. Lady working at the counter was awesome. She picked up on the fact that I'm a vegetarian and gave me suggestions. She recommended the pomegranate walnut stew which sounded great but I had just had a bunch of pomegranate at lunch so I decided maybe next time I would try it. I wanted to try a little bit of everything so I got the appetizer platter. It came with hummus, pita, vegetables, dolmas, and falafel. The hummus and falafel were the big winners here, but I totally could have used some tzatziki to dip the falafel in. I will for sure order some next time. The falafel had a good crisp texture and yummy flavor. The hummus was smooth and tasted excellent with everything on the platter. Pita bread was tasty too! I wasn't a huge fan of the dolmas and I totally burned my tongue on one which was annoying haha. My mom got a chicken skewer and loved it. I tried the rice it came with and it was very yummy! Also the prices here are not bad at all for a good quantity of food that is good quality. Can't wait to come back! Neither can my mom! read more

Amazing experience. Myself and the party of 5 had lamb gyro platters. The lamb was tantalizing the thaziki sauce was splashing the taste buds with flavor. The rice was melt In ya mouf. They released the champagne sauce for the first time in our life and it changed our life. We have been reformed to the champagne sauce flavors on the salad, the lamb/beef, the water was free and flowing. The food was a 10, borderline 11. For the COVID sensitive folks out there they even had hanging see-through plastic walls between each table. Never see anything like it, but it was kinda cool. A good way for us to eat in peace in doors. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone in the area who loves Mediterranean food, if you enjoy Persian or Greek style you should be satisfied. Located in a strip mall just off of E Mayo and N Scottsdale, this clean and airy middle-eastern restaurant appeared full of promise. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, the menu on chalkboards on the wall was varied with chicken and lamb dishes - we were looking forward to a good meal. In fact, my lamb skewers were quite good. I was less impressed with the rice (dry and bland) and the salad (strips of lettuce similar to what you'd get at the sports bar next door), but it seemed perfectly adequate. We were the only patrons at lunch, and the food came out quickly. Too quickly as it turned out. My colleague had ordered chicken skewers, and they were way underdone (nearly raw) which is both gross and not particularly food-safe (not good). I won't be going back. Undercooking the chicken was a really bad move. read more

No AZ Kabob is simply delicious in every aspect. Let me start by saying that the staff was very friendly I got even greeted by the chef which was nice. The atmosphere is great! Very comfortable seating with a warm and comforting environment, made me feel right at home. The food was exploding with flavor. I even told myself that this is on par with some of the high end Persian restaurants. I had the Gyro Platter and the Gyros was very tender and juicy with a lot of flavor. The rice was extremely enjoyable to take in and the Tzatziki sauce was hands down the best I have ever tasted. Went here to meet up with one of my dearest friends. Decided to split Salmon Kabob (half rice & half salad) and an order of freshly made baklava. Baklava was good but too sweet for my personal taste. Walked in yesterday not expecting too much and was absolutely delighted! I decided on a simple Greek salad and added the chicken kabob and it was superb. I love Mediterranean food and this place has ample selection. My wife got the sampler -- The falafel was excellent. They make everything to order fresh. She has severe allergies and "K" (our host) was patient and helpful. I love that they do not use soybean oil at all. Their entrees looked delish from the other tables... we will definitely be back. They even perfectly portion the innards so your pickles aren't all stuck to one side and the fries to the other. You can have pickles in almost every bite! We also got several desserts to take home. Been here twice now. Food is tasty. I do think they need to be more consistent with their hours of operation. I told my brother in law about the place and he was eager to try it. So I took his order and called in so the food would be ready by the time I got there. No answer after trying 3 times. So I drove there because they were supposed to be open until 8:00PM. I got there at 4:30 and there was a sign on the door saying they were closed for the evening. Bummer. That's the second time there is a sign on the door about a change of hours. I will probably only go there now if I'm in the area, because I wasted my time with the drive yesterday. read more

First time eating here. We were waiting for our lane appt at C2 Tactical. This place was a "10". From the build out to the service to the food and even the way they reworked the space for Covid. The interior was finished in this urban/soft California contemporary look; very well done and they hung plexiglass space dividers between tables which actually worked well with their architecture. A very safe environment to eat in; the safest I've seen yet. And the food was amazing. I grew up in the Middle East and I know Middle Eastern food. It was very well done. This place should definitely be on your weekly list of places to dine in. read more

Every dish was made with care, and you could really tell the quality of the ingredients. The service was even better--everyone was so warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. Unfortunately, that wasn't an option, so I ended up ordering the tzatziki with pita instead. I would have preferred getting some protein rather than carbs, but what I had was still good. We love the food and the atmosphere. The chicken tastes amazing and there are good options for vegetarians, too. Personally I like the falafels best. The staff is courteous, too! You can easily order any separate/add-on item you like. As expected for freshly prepared food you do need to be more patient than with a fast food place but it's well worth the wait!
