I was very nervous to have this done especially because I had never been under anesthesia. I went in for my consultation on a Monday and they were able to schedule my procedure Friday of the same week. The entire team was so friendly and welcoming during my entire experience. Dr. Wilson explained everything that would need to be done very clearly and helped me to feel at ease. I opted for Exparel to be given during my procedure and it was definitely worth it. I experienced no pain during my recovery only mild soreness which was relieved with Tylenol. I highly recommend Dr. Wilson and his team if you find yourself in need of oral surgery. Most of the staff, younger staff is pleasant and helpful some of the more senior staff can be very transactional and a somewhat less pleasant. I am a patient of Dr. Spencer Wilson at his Maxillofacial Surgery Center and would like to relate what I consider a truly outstanding experience with my dental implant procedure. The process began with an unbelievably thorough examination, modern comprehensive 3D X-rays (in color) using equipment that was absolutely state-of-the art; followed by ample time with Dr. Wilson and his staff to review every aspect involved in the extraction and bone grafting as well as implantation of the replacement teeth. Everything was patiently discussed from anesthetics to recovery and healing time. I was very impressed with the patience, genuine concern, and individualized treatment plan that Doctor Wilson developed. This clearly went over and above "routine implant surgery" and allowed me to not only make my decisions, but also to be part of the overall process. I was certainly not treated as just another routine patient in an assembly line process. During the surgery itself, I also felt that Dr. Wilson, and his staff again went over and above just preforming the surgical procedure. To start with, it was not simply a dentist chair in a dentist office but an actual surgical facility with the lighting, contoured console, medical equipment, surgical tools laid out and skilled surgical assistants like Gina present. EVERY effort was made for my comfort and to assure I experienced no pain. The amazing part, to me, is throughout the surgery, the implant, and the follow-up visits, I have never experienced any pain due to the extraordinary, caring efforts of Dr. Wilson and his staff. That includes the mental anguish that goes with the process. The staff keeps in touch, is always available to answer my questions, provided the tools and supplies for the home care portion of the procedure, and has scheduled the series of follow-up steps all the way through the implant process. This practice is not patient centered. Scheduling was difficult just for a consult. The staff was super rude and demeaning. Apparently, it was a problem that I fill out my husband's registration paperwork. I told the front desk person that I was his wife and that he didn't have his glasses and she proceeded to nod her head "no." We decided this office was not the practice for our needs. We called around to three other oral surgeons and they told us spouses could fill out the paperwork, "spouses do it all the time, patient just signs..." Came here for my 2 bottom wisdom teeth to be removed. Found the experience to be better then I had expected given friends past experiences. The procedure was quick and being under sedation I didn't feel procedure pain. The staff was friendly and Dr Wilson has great bedside manner and listened to all my questions. I recommend the exparel as well. After my teeth were removed I had no residual pain until the exparel weened off in approximately 3 days after which I managed with occasional Ibuprofen. All of the staff was very kind and helpful during my experience here. Had to wait a bit to get in for a consultation, but after that they got me in for surgery the same week. The Doctor was patient and listened well when I was explaining what I'm dealing with, or what concerns I may have had. He explained the procedure in detail and answered any questions that came up. During my procedure they accommodated for my problem with needles by administering Zulfran, and gave me oxygen when I was experiencing a Vasovagal reaction.
