It was the first haunted house area I went to this season. I was most impressed by the passion of the hired actors. They really got into character and the costumes were great too. There were 2 haunted house options open the night I went. The overall grounds for a bit rough after the recent heavy rains. The place overall had a backwoods, abandoned construction site vibe to it. Going through two of the three haunted houses took less than an hour including waiting in line. The design of the haunted houses was good. A few jumpscares and definitely creepy characters. However, there wasn't much to do at the event grounds activity-wise after going to the haunted houses.

And then, we had to pay another SIXTEEN dollars just for socks! We even brought our own grip socks, but because they were from a different establishment, they said we couldn't use them and HAD to purchase socks from them if we wanted to enjoy the slides. After paying the $16, as we were changing into the socks, I noticed that the family that came in right after us, had their own socks, NOT from slick city. One of the kids even said they always bring their own socks, every time. Very very frustrating. The food court/snack bar was also very pricy. I can understand making customers pay for socks if they are cheap... like 1-2$ a pair, but that policy also needs to be enforced. Paying $16 + for socks and then seeing the next group not even using them is ridiculous.

The recent renovations of this park are astounding. The grounds are well-kept with events taking…read moreplace year-round to engage the community. The play space is geared towards children of all ages, tied with the splash pad, train rides, and carousel. This is always a great hit to occupy time and entertain the kiddos. The park itself also has ample green space and ramadas to rent out for events. With the remodel, a train museum is incorporated as well to better understand the history of the space.

We came for…read morethe splash pad but quickly left after a gust of wind carried several of the shade umbrellas and their iron stands across the pad, one of which slammed into my granddaughter, pinning her against a concrete wall. Aside from a couple of skinned knees, she was apparently okay but traumatized to the point she refused to get off my lap. Surely a park catering to small children would ensure the equipment was safe. Aside from several other patrons who rushed in to help, no employee came for 10 minutes and then took another 10 to bring an ice pack. To top it off, the bucket dump ( best part of splash pad) was not working and when we went inside to let them climb, I had to pay $6 just to sit and watch for an hour. Never again!

The weather was perfect but it would be a lot to eat in the car during the hot summer. I feel like there was a lot of variety of things to do for the age difference of my kids. My main issue was with the flooring of the entire park. I'd like to see them do something to make the sidewalk more comfortable for the 99% of people who are walking around barefoot. All of our feet hurt from walking around on the really hard concrete. I guess I'd recommend you wear water shoes if you have them. We used a Get Out Pass and the whole process was seamless. It's worth getting because just a trip to Sunsplash is pretty much the same price as a Get Out Pass and you get so much out of it. I don't know if I'd go again because the cost is pretty high.

Plus, you can play mini golf or even take a ride in the bumper boats or race karts. Definitely a timeless classic for me, and why I prefer Golfland over Sunsplash. Though Sunsplash isn't my favorite, I've still enjoyed myself there as my previous company used to do a holiday splash party each summer. The rental spaces are great, though the catered food was nothing special (hamburgers and hot dogs). All in all, it was still a fun event and you can count on me being in the lazy river if visiting Sunsplash!

We've been able to go ice skating, cool down at Sunsplash, play mini golf at Golfland, and visit various indoor play areas such as KTR and FunBox. We even get some emails offering additional free admission days to certain Pogo Pass parks as an extra bonus. I've felt like it has been worth it to invest in the pass.

We have gone to the Phoenix Zoo three times over the years. This was the first time bringing our…read morekids to enjoy it. There are a lot of great animals at the zoo. Most seem to have comfortable exhibits as well. The orangutans are our favorite exhibit to visit as the four orangutans are fascinating to see up close. They can be seen wandering their yard climb on the activity's or inside avoiding the heat. The animals of Arizona section is really well done. Much more walkable than much of the rest of the zoo and provides ample shade for guests and animals. The zoo is pretty hilly in many sections including the farm and the Sahara exhibits. Be prepared to walk a lot. There are restrooms and zoo stands around, but many were closed on a Wednesday. It is a fun zoo, but definitely harder during the summer months to fully enjoy.

This visit we purchased Six Flags and Hurricane Harbor tickets at a significant discount. They are live tickets, too, so you go straight to the gate (instead of going to a ticket booth to redeem a voucher). The discounts were significant, and we saved a good amount of money. They also have tickets for Legoland, Seaworld, and other stuff. Plus some discounts for local activities. Definitely worth checking their website to see if they have discounts that will help you for your next activity or vacation.
