I love spooky season. Having had the chance to see both recently, I'm going to compare both ScArizona and Fear Farm. I had a great time at ScArizona. It was the first haunted house area I went to this season. I was most impressed by the passion of the hired actors. They really got into character and the costumes were great too. There were 2 haunted house options open the night I went. The overall grounds for a bit rough after the recent heavy rains. The place overall had a backwoods, abandoned construction site vibe to it. Going through two of the three haunted houses took less than an hour including waiting in line. The design of the haunted houses was good. A few jumpscares and definitely creepy characters. However, there wasn't much to do at the event grounds activity-wise after going to the haunted houses. read more

To my haunted house-loving friends, this was the coolest, most impressive haunted house experience I've ever enjoyed! They really went above and beyond, the actors were great! The setups impressive, the haunts wandering through the lines were so fun...5+ stars! Totally recommend Scarizona! I haven't laughed like that in a long time...I don't think I've screamed like that ever! The all black room areas are especially unique! The house further off had way shorter lines last night so maybe start there, then go back to the one closer to the admission area. Either way the actors make waiting on line very fun! Had a great time with my family. The characters were interactive. There are two haunted houses but worth the time.

Let's begin by saying that I am not ignorant to the fact of inflation. I understand that it costs more to put on a production such as this. Now, let me say, it was roughly $70, $92 after taxes, for 2 houses and a snack bar. There was no zombie hunting, no vendors for food, nothing! If I had know. That it was this bad I definitely would not have purchased tickets, waited in line (in my car & at the houses) for this. If I had to place a figure on this, $20, TOPS! Absolutely fantastic!! Actors and costumes were amazing. Cant say it enough that the actors made it the best, staying in character and giving people a good scare. The haunted houses were great, me and my boyfriend haven't been that spooked in SO long. We did go to the earliest time, 7 pm on a Sunday. I recommend coming at least 10 minutes early. Wow! This place was incredible. We went to other haunted houses first and then for Halloween night came to this one. It was so good!!! The actors seriously nailed it and there were a lot of them. They did a great job with the set up and follow through for a lot of scenes. But seriously, the actors were great and made the whole experience awesome. Shout out to the guy in black and white that follows you around corners but only so you see him in the corner of your eye and can't tell at first you're being followed. A complete rip off. Drive through a bunch of junk piles to have maybe 5 people walk next to your car with regular clothes on and cheap mask. This is the absolute worst haunted house drive through ever. My kids could put a sheet on and act like a ghost and be scarier. I purchased a VIP ticket for the Freight in the Lights event. When I got there, there was a man directing traffic, and I asked where the VIP line was, he was rude and said they weren't having that tonight, and I would need to get to the back of the line. I drove to the back of the line to sit there for 10 minutes, and it never moved, it was miles long. I was not planning on waiting 3+ hours for an 8 minute drive thru so I had to leave. I've tried to contact fright in the lights by email several times and I've left messages several times as well and they are completely ignoring me for a refund. I bought a VIP ticket and they didn't have it available. This company is stingy and unethical. read more

I wish I had looked at all of these before purchasing our ticket. Lesson learned. Like everyone else has mentioned, you wait a long time (45 mins) to finally be let in for a huge disappointment. A handful of "actors" amble nearby your car... for 50 bucks. We drove two hours to get there... waited 45 mins... and spent MAYBE 8 mins driving the i looking at junk. Ive read the other reviews about the new ownership and taking it over last minute. Understandable, but you certainly don't charge full premium pricing for that. It IS misadvertised, and it does feel like a ripoff. And confirming that yes, workers DID approach the far with no masks. So that's a concern with covid. read more

So, firstly there is quite a wait. I'd say on average we got there early at 6:50 and got in at 8:30, so there's that, but that's a typical wait for attractions anyway. Now when you actually get to the haunted house area that is when the fun begins. My girlfriend was targetted when we got in and it had to be one of the funniest experience I have ever had. They chased her and it already felt like it was going to be a good time. The houses had so many creative and although terrifying piece of displays/animatronic's! You can see a lot of work was put into it and the actors did very well with directing and remaining in character. Of course some parts in the haunted house didn't have real people but it didn't make it any less fun and it was great to look at as well! Would recommend going for a good time with friends/family! And they do have a concession stand now. read more

I'm honestly surprised at all the 1 star reviews, what do you expect? It's all in the name of fun, my only reason for 4 not 5 star review is cost, I think $50 is a bit excessive for a drive through haunted house, but worth the experience. We're in the day where these kinds of events are really necessary. I would recommend for kids 10 and over maybe a bit to young for my 8yr old. I can assume that all the "zombies" were high school drama students, they were great and scared the pee out my kid, so plus there. All in all I would do it again and only expect more and more each year. Until the covid crap is over, this is an excellent alternative with social distancing for safe fun. WOW. This was SO bad it's hard to put into words. This happened Saturday 10/30/21. This was terrible and total waste of my hard earned money. I took my family of 4 and bought the VIP front of the line tickets. Paid about $240 all in. What a waste of money it was. There was ZERO people working inside the "haunted houses". It was so bad we all though we made a wrong turn somewhere inside? After waking through 3 NON haunted houses we saw a total of only 3 employees working the houses. There was ZERO scares, Zero characters. It was literally an empty house with just a bunch of lights, rave music and small Halloween robots that people buy for their front lawns that try to scare you. REALLY?? I honestly could not believe how bad this experience was. This was beyond disappointing. Next year SAVE your money and time. Go to ANY other attraction in AZ, there is no way it will be worse than this one. read more

Haunted houses are mediocre and we waited in line for the Zombie Paintball for over two hours. Insane. Their trucks kept breaking down and you get in line and then pass a barrier and think you're there but it's then another line and then another... I wanted to go home before I even got to do the attraction. Also the attractions are not labeled many people on the Zombie line didn't know it was for that and not a haunted house and waited hours to just get booted out. There was only one actor zombie and the rest of the time you shoot at bushes and like 3 dummies. It's awful. People with VIP access the would let them ride the ride over and over again without even getting off while we waited for hours and when we said if they could do like every other (take one round of general admission people that waited for hours, then one vip that walked right up, then one general, etc.) someone told us we should have invested more money if we didn't want to wait! read more

Well I'm kind of a giant scaredy-cat so I wasn't thrilled to come here. But a group from work thought it would be fun so I obliged. We did all of the houses and zombie paintball. I hoped to start with the mild house first and then work our way up so that I could get acclimated to the fear. An employee guided us to the easy house and in we went. Let me tell you, I was scared to death. And it never seemed to end. Turned out the employee played a joke on us and it was the scariest. So each house after that was a breeze. The zombie paintball was fun but I think the zombies had the night off. There was only a couple in the whole thing. Would've been better if there was more to shoot at. Also we bought the virtual house ticket but it wasn't working so they allowed us to do zombie twice. Lane that they didn't tell us that when we bought tickets. Pro tip: use restroom before you go in or wear Depends!! You're welcome!!! read more

Standing in line still after 2 hours and we bought tickets for the first time slot. They are waiting 5 minutes between letting 2-5 people in so the line barely moves. There is nothing to drink here, so you will be parched waiting in line after the first house. Absolute rip off for the money, horrible experience. Doesn't matter if you buy tickets for a time slot, you will spend 3-4 hours waiting for 15 minutes of what you are supposed to be paying for. I bought tickets for 7:30pm. By the time we got through the hour line to park, the hour line to get in and the 45 line to get into 1 out of 4 haunted houses I didn't get started until 10:15pm. Not well organized! Then they say to purchase online to save time but you have to wait in the same line as everyone else. Again, not very organized. All of this to realize that a little girl friend that we took was too scared to go. I asked for a refund and they said "no". Not good customer service! So, a big fat waste of $200. They post signs all over the place that they do not do refunds, and I figured out why. First, they tell you to book slots every 30 mins and tell you to get there on time, leading me to believe that they let groups in every 30 minutes. So we get there about 15 minutes early, and the first 2 "groups" were never let in. They open the doors at almost 730 when my slot was for 7. We were in the first line for 20 to 30 minutes, and in the next line for an hour. The third line was over an hour long, and we never stayed to battle through that nonsense. The haunted houses were ok, but ruined by the ridiculously long lines. They just let everyone in at the same time. It would have been nice to know they were going to do that. I own a marketing agency and understand how hard it is to fight negative reviews or to grow from them but unfortunately I must write a negative review. I would like to say that I understand opening a haunted house, especially during a pandemic, must be costly for the business owner. When I saw that there was a drive in haunted house, I was so excited that they pivoted their business and were one of the only haunted houses to offer this. I went on their website and loved the design and video (social media could use work especially in engaging with their customers), so I bought a ticket for tonight (10/8/2020) and invited friends to ride with me because it looked fun! We drove 30 minutes to arrive at a very confusing entrance and road. Once we approached it and started driving towards it, we realized that the main gate was locked and saw a random worker with no mask. We drove up to this worker hoping he could direct us to the drive in but he said that they decided to close early because not enough people showed up in the first 30 minutes of them being open (like 6 or 7 pm) and we showed up at 10pm. I also was confused because in their tv interview it said all reservations had to be made online. So wouldn't they have known who would have been coming? Could they have just contacted us so we did not drive all the way over? Yes, they most definitely could've. They did not offer a refund for us but said we could come back any other night and they would validate our ticket. I appreciate that the worker tried to solve the problem but I was not fully satisfied with how they handled this situation and after reading these yelp reviews, I am very concerned with the ideals of this company. Also, the set up of the exit and entrance is very weird. It was a very bumpy dirt road and more signage or staff directing traffic would've been helpful. Obviously they wouldn't need this if they plan on closing early without telling anyone every night. Overall, I think that their processes need to be cleaned up. How hard would it have been to email or call the people who bought tickets that you closed early. Also, how did you not know how many people were showing up when all of your ticket sales are supposedly online only? I am not giving this place 1 star solely on the fact that I did not even get to experience the drive thru. I hope that the owner has addressed previous concerns that are in these comments because this is pretty hard to read. I will be going to the drive thru sometime soon and will delete this review if I feel my experience was great and my problem was resolved. UPDATE: They let us into the drive thru today (10/9/2020) and I feel like I went to Fyre Festival. I got my money scammed and finessed. It was so boring with only 4 actors at the very beginning. They said it would take 20-25 minutes to drive thru the haunted areas but it only takes 5 and all of the "scarier alternate" routes literally have no one working to scare you and no decor. I was dumbfounded that I was approaching the exit after 5 minutes. Do not waste your money like me. I promise it will not be worth it. They must have invested all of their business money into the marketing just to fool everyone and make an extra $50 off naive people like me. This place is definitely getting one star. Also, not one worker has a mask on and they will be breathing on you while you are in your car. So you pay $50 for a free infection of COVID-19. Please go to Fear Farm or 13 Floors, I am begging you! Its pretty much like other complaints have been on here. A complete waste of money if for anything, the amateur way it was run. Looking at the date of some of the reviews, nothings changed for several years. Some of the actors were pretty cool, but a couple of idiot actors also that went out their way to be smart mouthed where it wasn't appropriate. I got the feeling they didn't want to be there doing their jobs. People are there to have fun, not be treated like "bleep". The haunted houses were just amateur. Seen better horror houses built into a semi trailer in a carnival. No sign or mention of the Paintball event that you have to buy tokens for. Not until you wait in line for ever just to find out its extra. Lots of angry people turned away because they had no idea, as did we. Hey management, post a flipping sign or something. The wait was long as others said and it can eat up all your time there just standing in line. Once you finally get to go though, it was the best part of the event and was quite fun. Like the first reviewer stated, there is definite room for potential. It's disappointing that a place which is well-marketed doesn't live up to the online hype. I thought my computer was messed up when I couldn't purchase tickets online thru all 3 major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE), but it's just their website. I emailed asking to see what was up and didn't get a response back, so I instead had to purchase on-site. There is a $1 off if you refer to promo code WEB1, valid on-site. The location is hard to find without the construction sign pointing you towards it. Literally is just off the Red Mtn and Alma School. There are parking people to guide you to the general area, some spots literally in-between salt mounds. It's not worth the extra $15 for the zombie ride-- was terribly under-whelming and the left side seemed to get more shot opportunities than our side. There also weren't a lot of zombies- do they need more actors? Probably. Could the few zombies have been more intrusive on the vehicle? Most definitely. I did enjoy both of the houses but Epic Fear was far better than Slayer's House. The website also mentioned a "Beer Cemetery" and a magician on Sunday's, but neither were found. One employee didn't have a reason for the bar to not be open, I didn't bother asking about the magician after someone ahead of us in line asked and the gal had no clue. The Scarizona people have a lot of improvements to make me want to come back. read more

The concept is great. The execution was horrible. It needed more actors, better props (perhaps some fog machines, chain saws, rattling chains etc) and better costumes. The drive was definitely not what was advertised. The exit was longer of a drive and the entrance was so short it blocked traffic on a main road. I think those that sat in back of trucks had the best experience. This year not worth $50, I hope that next year they listen to everyone's comments and improve. Make it longer and actually scary. After close they went through the houses again to try and find them and they did! I was contacted and they were very flexible with coordinating a time for me to come and pick them up. This was the worse haunted house attraction I've been to ever. My friends and I go every year to a haunted house and I look forward to that outing every year as I do not get to go out often. We chose Scarizona because it was new and in the east valley (finally we didn't have to drive for an hour). We always buy the fast pass to skip the long cumbersome lines and did so again for Scarizona. Well we found out that "long line" and "Scarizona" sure do not go together. This was beyond short lines though. There were no lines. And even more, there were NO OTHER PEOPLE. Maybe, at most, there were 2 or 3 other groups of people scattered around the grounds. Now I know some may think 'that's awesome to not have to battle crowds' and normally I would too if the haunted house themselves were anything more than, darkness, a few lights, well dressed actors, and walking. Oh and a dangerous metal grated step in the course that is NOT lit and has NO warning. I fell HARD! My friends almost had to help me walk back to the car. Its been a week and my knees still hurt. I'm actually debating going to the doctor to get xrays done. To sum it up, I am very disappointed with the new attraction, the fast pass was worthless and a waste of $10, and the houses were dangerous. read more
