The signage was not always very helpful, with arrows pointing in vague directions while multiple pathways branched off in every direction. I also found it a little odd that some rooms have outdoor entrances while others are in climate controlled corridors. My room was in a corridor, but the doors at the end of the hall were not secured, meaning someone could potentially walk in from outside without ever passing the main desk. That did not make me feel particularly comfortable. The staff was extremely nice and helpful overall. Unfortunately, my baggage was lost and took forever to make its way to me. I eventually had to call the front desk to remind them to bring it up, which was frustrating. My room itself was fine. It was very spacious, but definitely felt a little dated and rough around the edges. The carpet was worn through in places, and the bathroom door was pretty janky. In fact, I got stuck inside the bathroom the first time I closed it, which is not exactly what you want from a hotel room. The mini bar was very well stocked, but extremely overpriced. Also, be careful about taking anything out because there is a hidden 22% gratuity on mini bar items, including the small snack jars. I definitely learned that one the hard way. One of my favorite parts of the stay was the central bar right behind the lobby. The bartenders were incredibly professional and friendly, and the misters were such a great touch in the Scottsdale heat. I could have easily sat there for hours comfortably. I did not get the chance to explore the entire resort, but from what I saw, there really does seem to be something for everyone. The property is beautiful and has a ton of amenities, but the navigation issues, dated room, security concerns, and baggage situation kept this from being a higher rating for me. Next thing I know, windows are up, car turns into a Dutch oven of bad decisions, and now I'm just along for the ride literally and spiritually. Somewhere between "this is a bad idea" and "why is everything funny," I lost control of the evening. We pull into the park around that magical time you know, that in-between hour... not quite day, not quite night... like God dimmed the lights and said, "Alright boys, let's see what happens." The whole place is glowing neon lights, arcade buzz, roller coasters rattling in the distance. Felt like walking into a carnival dream... or maybe a fever dream. Jury's still out. Now here's the thing about this place it's been around since the late '70s, sitting right there in Phoenix like a desert time capsule of fun. Clean. Staff's friendly. Nobody's judging three grown men giggling like idiots. It's got that old-school charm too arcades, mini golf, rides, the whole deal. You can bring a family here... or whatever version of a situation we were. Now the rides... oh, the rides. I got scared... not once... not twice... but a few times. The kind of scared where you start making promises to God you don't intend to keep. "I'll be a better man if I survive this drop..."
