Best team of really friendly people. They were well organized for my kids' birthday celebration. Lots of kids were running a bit late which is understandable being their first time there. The young woman at the counter was super sweet & started the lanes past time so the kids had a chance to arrive-- you don't know how much we really appreciated that kindness. The food from next door at Oggis arrive on time-it as super convenient & delicious! Thanks so much to the team.

Stopped in yesterday for the first time for a few games of pool and bowling on my Birthday. Clean, friendly, smoke-free space & the staff was friendly. Can't beat the prices as SDSU staff. We played terribly, so we will definitely be back to brush up on our game. LOL!

    Family Fun-Day!

We had a great time bowling this weekend at Aztec Lanes. Free for SDSU students (2 games), only $5 for non-students and $3 for shoe rentals. Very clean, courteous, employees, and nice restrooms. There's an Oggi's right next-door that you can eat out and have beer before you come over to bowl. They also have pool and ping-pong tables. We'll definitely return!

This is an easy 5 star review! The staff and their dedication to service is top notch! It's been a busy year, so I dropped the ball on advanced bday planning for my daughter. I called last Wednesday to make a lane reservation for today, 10/29. Once I realized the offered party packages (includes lane rental, shoe rental, pizzas and sodas), I quickly upgraded to make my life easier... The contract was emailed to me within minutes and promptly returned. The day of the party, everyone arrived pretty much on time. The staff was welcoming, accommodating and attentive - they checked everyone in upon arrival and provided shoes as requested. Socks are offered for an additional charge as well. We last went to this bowling alley pre-pandemic, so it was amazing to see how much they've taken care pf the place - it's pristine! Every single corner is sparkling and there's a staff member that is constantly monitoring trash, vacuuming, etc. to ensure the ultimate level of cleanliness. My friends were all impressed and we'll all definitely be back!

After a morning of touring SDSU and lunch in the Student Union, I took my kids bowling! Aztec Lanes is once again participating in the Kids Bowl Free program. Basically kids 12 and under can BOWL FREE EVERY DAY in the summer. You still pay for rental shoes but there are no lane fees. They also have family plans for a similar deal for adult family members and kids who are older 13 and up, which is what I signed up for this year. Keep in mind this deal is only during the summer. Check to see if your local bowling alley participates and sign up with my referral link: https://www.kidsbowlfree.com/referral.php?code=bniaog The bathrooms are family-friendly, intended for a single person (or a parent with a kid or two) and are large enough to fit a stroller if need be. Most importantly they were clean when I visited. I should note they had one dedicated staff person literally cleaning the alley from end to end almost the entire time we were here. If all 12 lanes are in use, you can just signup for the waitlist at the front. They take your mobile number and text you a link to a website to see your place in line and text you when your lane is ready. Like most bowling alleys, the house balls are beat up. And this place is no exception. The lightweight balls for kids have seen better days and most won't roll evenly down the lanes. We had two 9 pounders and they couldn't roll straight no matter how much my kids tried. They do have plastic kids ramps that are perfect for younger kids who can't quit toss a bowling ball safely. And of course they have optional lane bumpers to ensure no kid gets a gutter ball. Unlike most bowling alleys, Aztec Lanes does not have a snack shop. Snacks and drinks are available from one of several vending machines. I imagine that you might be able to bring food purchased in the Student Union inside, but I'm not sure. As my kids get older they've come to realize that Daddy is boring and bowling is not as fun for them as it is nostalgic for me, especially on the campus of my alma mater. I will keep bowling in the summers with my girls until the time comes when they are old enough to leave the house on their own. Perhaps they will look back on these summers with their own nostalgia by then.

You have to be within 7 days of your requested reservation date so as soon as I was closer I set up a reservation through Open Table. They do require a deposit which was fine because it made sure that we had the lanes needed for our party. I actually ended up calling the Tavern and Bowl to see if they had any earlier reservations and they told me if the person who requested an earlier time didn't pay the deposit I'd get the time slot. I am so lucky because these people didn't pay their deposit and we got the time and the lane. Cute thing, you can actually have kids come too, my niece who is 5 got to come along and they had a little device for her so she can push the ball, she ended up beating me. Everyone was so kind and service was so smooth and efficient, we got to bring donuts for our party and my husband and I ordered the carnitas nachos, they were delicious. Seriously such a great time, obviously this is before the Padres season so we lucked out on parking but this is a great place to host birthday parties. Thank you again for letting us have such a great time!

Whether you want to stand and chat it up with friends or lounge in a posh chair, it's up to you. Cool and attentive bartenders as well as cocktail waitresses make this place work. There are basketball hoops, pool tables, foosball and bowling. It does get packed but still worth the visit if you find yourself nearby. That said, there are a few downsides. The service can be pretty slow, especially when they're busy. Overall, it's a fun place to stop by for the games and activities, especially with friends or tourists. However, if you're looking for great cocktails, quicker service, or a more relaxed atmosphere, there are definitely better options around town.

It used to have great energy, a solid food menu, and a fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, over the past year, the decline has been very noticeable. The food menu was significantly reduced and feels very limited now compared to what it used to offer. That alone was disappointing, but the biggest issue is the service -- or lack of it. On multiple recent visits, there have been several employees behind the bar (sometimes 4-5), yet no one checks on guests in the bowling area. Staff are often standing around talking to each other or playing games. During one visit, we had to physically go to the bar to ask if someone could come take our order, and we were told to wait because they were finishing a game. That was honestly shocking. Another major concern is the drink selection. This place used to have around 20 beer taps. On a recent holiday weekend, only about three were working. For a bar, especially during peak hours, that's extremely concerning and gives the impression of either poor inventory management or bigger operational issues. The space feels empty compared to how it used to be, and the staff do not seem motivated to provide even basic hospitality. It's frustrating because this location has so much potential and used to be a great neighborhood spot. At this point, I only continue going because it's the closest bowling alley nearby -- not because of the experience. I truly hope management takes a serious look at what's happening. This place used to be vibrant and fun, and it would be a shame to see it continue down this path.

Guess what the staff never got there! Honestly, he thought it was funny when he told me that we weren't going to be able to get on rides until the other staff got there. There were a few rides like the mini dipper and the carousel. But who buys wristbands to get on a couple rides and then get on the bumper cart. If that's the case then I would've just bought individual tickets. LET YOUR GUEST KNOW AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU ARE SHORT STAFFED AND THE PARK WILL NOT BE RUNNING AS USUAL!! I do want to point out that I'm a single mom and low income and this was supposed to be something amazing for us. $100 to Belmont Park is absolutely nothing but for me it is. And just FYI, I a lot of people kept leaving the park upset. But for them, they didn't purchase wristbands. We waited till after 5 PM hoping that as the shift changed employees would come and open up all of the rides, but that never happened. I was hoping to get my money back for the wristband, but because the employee at the counter was so aggressive I was honestly afraid to go up and ask for a refund. I'm hoping Belmont Park will make this right and provide my daughter and I with an opportunity to return to Belmont Park at no charge to us and be able to get on the rides.
