Not a fan. The flautas are decent but that's about it. The food is very bland. The albóndiga soup is bland. The flan was disgusting. The service is mediocre, apparently nobody (Carlos) speaks Spanish at this Mexican restaurant lol We got the arroz con pollo, no flavor. I'm used to the arroz con pollo from Las Margaritas here in Rosamond. Full of flavor there. My husband got the chile Colorado, it was okay. Also tastes way better from Las Margaritas. Their "spicy salsa" tastes like Pace salsa. The albondigas from Las Margaritas are 10/10, here I'd say a 2/10 Last but not least, their "homemade" flan. DISGUSTING!!!!! I do not recommend!!! This place was recommended to us by Nick who was at the house doing some contractor work. Based on his saying the food they serve has a great depth of flavor, we drove out to Rosamond. It's nice to feel you're getting away from it sometimes. We were greeted warmly on arrival and service was good overall. They brought chips and salsa to the table and I would, much to my surprise, have to list their salsa as one of the best in the AV. I think I could bathe in that stuff, and the first thing I thought about was whether I could buy some chips and salsa to take home with me. Friendly people dining there as one of them ran over from an adjacent table when we dropped something and couldn't find it. We next decided to try a Cheese and Onion quesadilla. Another nice surprise for us as it was really delicious and the guacamole they served with it was excellent. You know how when most restaurants serve this dish there is an accompanying serving of shredded lettuce, guacamole and sour cream. Well, shocker, but we didn't find watery lettuce and blandness, but a small serving of delicious freshness. Excellent! I asked the waiter his preference on soup or salad and he mentioned the homemade salad dressings so we shared a mixed salad with blue cheese dressing and a bowl of albondigas. I thought the broth was a little weak and watery and would have liked a bit more flavor, but the meatball in it hit the tight nite. Me. Picky thought the salad was the best choice, but I'd like to try the chicken tortilla soup next time. Your choice of any of the foregoing is only a dollar extra on the entree price, so that's a good deal. Entrées ... he had the combo chili Relleno and cheese enchilada plate, while I had the shrimp enchiladas. These grew on me as I kept taking bites of the bay shrimp, so not bad. His he said he'd rate at ~4 stars. Dessert was fried ice-cream for Mr. Picky, and flan for me. It had a perfect texture, and that's no small feat. Great service. I'm super picky having worked in the food business for 45 years. My favorite is pork. Chile Verde or Carnitas. I had the Chile Verde burrito plate. It comes with soup or salad. I had the Albondigas and it was a bowl of deliciousness. The pork in the burrito was super tender. The salsa is great which isn't easy to find anywhere. The prices were very reasonable and no extra charges. Nice authentic looking comfortable interior in the restaurant. Big menu with something for all. read more

Went here four times and some of the food is just OK and some not OK. My chili relleno tuned my stomach. 62 and I've been eating them all over CA my whole life, but thiers had what looked like pink colored gelatinous gravy on it. I've Never seen or tasted anything that bad and odd in a Mexican restaurant. The chips are cheap low quality store bought. Ambiance is not good at all. Service seems good. Happy Hour? What happy hour? Doesn't seem like a real authentic Mexican restaurant from when they used to be in the smaller location which is now zebras. Their food has always been pretty basic Tex-Mex style out of the can food. They also like to chuckle or laugh at you when you ask for any kind of first responder or military discounts, I laughed back at them because their location is right next to the base entrance so I just keep reminding all my fellow workers on the Base to just not go there. Every time I ordered a combination plate with a taco, the taco always came to me completely soaked and barely held its stuffings before I could pick it all the way up and enjoy. Much better food for the $ across the tracks on Sierra Hwy that is much more friendly and way better beer choices and has great incentives for 1st responders and Military And Essential Workers! Last night we ordered to go. I ordered the Chile Colorado burrito but received a plain carne asada burrito with cheese on top. Super plain and flavorless. I called and they corrected the error by making me a new one at no cost, to be picked up the next day. Well today, we pick it up, and it's absolutely DISGUSTING. There's absolutely nothing about this burrito that tailors to the classic recipe of Chile Colorado. It's like they stuffed a burrito with dry beef and poured flavorless TOMATO sauce on it. It's horrible. I tried adding sour cream to cover the awful, blandness of the tomato, but it's disgusting. I'm so irritated, I'll never go back. The last three times we've gone there, the food has been horrendous. Im only just now, finally writing this well-deserved review. read more

There was a flavor town fiesta in my mouth. More about that later.....first I need to take you to when we walked in. We were greeted by a very kind man name Gilberto who reminded me of a Latino Walt Disney. His smile and warm greeting made me trust him Instantly. We were seated in a booth that was very clean and ordered our drinks which came right away along with fresh chips and salsa. I ordered Coke and my smoking hot wife ordered Water. The coke was crisp and refreshing. The water was clean and there was no weird flavors, which indicated the water was filtered. It didn't take us long to order. I chose the Burrito Verde and my wife chose the Grande Taco. We finished our basket of Chips and Salsa and like a super magician, the beautiful Claire appeared out of nowhere. She was polite, professional, and her uniform was clean. She asked us if we wanted more chips and salsa to which we replied yes, but in Japanese "Hai" just because. Our food arrived at the same time as our new chips. Sweet chocolate Christ wanna be Bullwinkle I tell you no lie Vato. The servings were huge! At first bite, I was figuratively instantly transported to San Diego where Mexican food is just referred to as "Food". It was as if Gordon Ramsey was behind me kissing my neck as Guy Fieri was feeding me by hand...yeah. Like I said. I was in a Flavor Town Fiesta and it was amazing!!! My burrito was accompanied by Rice, refried Beans, and Chicken Tortilla Soup. I've never had that soup before as I am from Detroit. We make Hotdog water soup. My wife really enjoyed her taco too. Our lunch was filled with her Moans of scrumdiddleyumtpious ecstasy. Our bill was so cheap I left a higher than average tip because of the quality of vitals and service. Excellent place for great Mexican food! We were served hot chips & delicious salsa, not spicy. Friendly servers and staff. I got the grande taco, it fell apart but was still fresh & delicious. My bf & his mom shared the chicken & steak fajitas. The only thing I didn't like was the fried ice cream. They used corn flakes, like literally rolled it in whole corn flakes & lightly fried it so the corn flakes were chewy. Other than that I'd definitely come back if we're in the area. read more
