2 Stars because the food had good flavor, however... My husband got the mucho grande burrito and I got the steak with mushrooms, and the meat from both dishes was so tough it ruined the meal. Parts of the dishes were either cold or lava hot. Azul is a pretty cool place: decor and ambiance are unique and fresh- and though we didn't stay for drinks it does look like a pretty cool place to hang out and throw a few back. I went in the late afternoon for a quick lunch. I sat at the outside patio and got a mango margarita which was great! Chips and salsa come on the house and the waiter was very attentive. I got the shredded chicken chimichanga that was delicious. It looks like a great place for groups and has a large bar that sits inside and out. read more

Worst bartender EVER. Took forever to get him to wipe off the exterior bartop & ask what we wanted to drink. The when we went to leave we asked for our check and the person beside us. This dude gets on his cellphone and is texting like we didn't just ask him for the check. When he takes his cell and leaves the bar, I have to go inside and ask someone else to assist us This dude walked out of the bar to chit chat with some girl! I don't like giving bad reviews but I was very disappointed with this new restaurant. As we arrived, someone was standing at the entryway outside. He did not open the door or greet us. No big deal. We were seated as we walked in. We ordered drinks and I used the restroom. It was clean and beautifully decorated. As I got back to our table. We ordered as the waiter brought out chips. I asked if they had street corn because I couldn't find it on the menu. The gentleman confirmed they did so I ordered that and carnitas street tacos with onion and cilantro. We ate our chips and salsa. My sweet tea was unsweetened so I asked for a coke in exchange. Eric ran out of coke and his cup sat for a while. We didn't see our waiter for a while either. We ended up asking someone else to fill his drink and the cup was never returned. Finally, when our food was done, our waiter brought our food and we had to ask for the drink again. The taco meat was not flavorful. It was rather dry so I ended up dipping it in our chip salsa. The corn was awful. I'm not exactly sure what was on the corn but it was very sour tasting, almost like a mixture made with mustard. The corn seemed frozen. Overall the restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated but the staff's attentiveness and food quality were very poor. I understand this place is new though so I will be willing to try them again. Since this was a new location and that we had visited the other location, we expected the standard. Unfortunately this must have been an off day with a new server, because most of our meal was spent trying to find our Waldo! The chips and salsa were immediately brought to the table, but it took the server some time to acknowledge us and when I first saw him, I could see the look of being overwhelmed on his face. I trudged on and ordered our drinks which took about 15 minutes to return. When he did and recognizing the stress, we quickly ordered our food. After 20 minutes and a refill of the chips and salsa by another server (since we couldn't find ours) the food started to arrive. Unfortunately, it was in intervals versus all at once, so I still had to wait to eat until all of my party was served. This took about 10 more minutes to accomplish. Throughout the rest of our meal, I continuously had to harass other wait staff to refill our drinks and to find our server for the check. Not sure if this was his first job as a server, but I will say that he didn't seem to be liked based on the amount of help that he was directly getting from the other servers. I did see several of them helping each other out, but not helping him. read more

Trying to get someone on the phone who can understand this basic request was sooo time consuming. I was transferred 3 times and they still got it wrong when I arrived. We were looking for a new restaurant to try out and we're craving Mexican food. My friend suggested this place and I was not that impressed. The inside is spacious and plenty of seating. The waiter was nice but the service was very slow. He never brought me my drink and my husband had to go to the bar and ask for it. He never came back to check on us to see if everything was ok if if we needed anything. The food was ok and the skinny margarita definitely was not my favorite. The fish (fried) tacos were DISGUSTING!!! The fish was fried in OLD grease and the fish was cut into infant sized, bite sized pieces ... So I was basically eating burnt nothingness. The waitress was 16 at best & was too busy engaging with her friends/cousins/coworkers to do her job. We watched her standing around several times talking when she food have been taking our order (we waited at least 20 mins), asking if we needed anything or asking If we wants the check. When she did take our order to tried to act like she didn't understand what my boyfriend was ordering because he's not fluent in Spanish & couldn't say pollo correctly even though he pointed to the item on the menu while he said it multiple times I'm decent at Spanish & it sounded close enough to me. Was my second time going to Azul had a great experience my first time. The food was good a lil pricey but worth it not a fan of their guacamole. This time I waited over an hour and the server intentionally ignored our table. We ordered drinks at the bar while we were waiting to be seated it was a super busy night which was understandable. He had to get his manager to get me and my wife's drinks right and took the orders of people that were seated after us, it was a horrible experience. I have to give this restaurant 3 because the food was good! One thing the manager needs to focus on is the outside uniqueness when customers want to eat outside. The display of tables needs to restructure and put some table clothes on the table required to make the exterior look pleasant when dining. My family and I enjoy the food, but the outcome of the performance of each server needs to be trained so customer service can be handled with care. Placed take out order at the hostess stand. The estimated wait of 15 minutes seemed reasonable. About 15 minutes later she handed us a bag and said, "here you go". We said Thank you and came home. Big mistake! It wasn't our order! With only two people placing take out orders at a non-busy time, shouldn't they be able to keep our orders straight?? So instead of two of the more expensive Off the Grill entrees, we had two burritos. The quality of food was, well, mediocre. The service was slow - very slow and the meal did not come out complete. We ordered corn tortillas and got tiny flour tortillas and they didn't come out with the meal so, we waited (we never got the corn tortillas). The guacamole that was supposed to come with the meal didn't and when I asked for it took forever (while the meal got cold) and when the check came there was a $6.75 charge. They took it off but I'd say that eating at Azul was a challenge. One last thought, my wife ordered the Azul margarita and it was so poor she only drank half of it. The service was good considering the restaurant is new. The prices were favorable, $9.99 for a combo dinner. (Two chicken enchiladas beans and rice) $15 for a specialty dinner. The rice was really good! The black beans were bland with little flavor. I did not like the corn tortilla, it tasted funny, kinda uncooked or something (like flour maybe?), but the chicken was good. The salsa with the chips had no spice at all and when we asked for some spicy salsa they brought us two different bottles of hot sauce! I have no issue waiting 30+ min to be seated, but waiting 30+ just to get a drink order and another 15 to come back and get the food. All told we were there 2-1/2 hours. They get it right - the food is all prepared so well, and even though it has both cooked shrimp and mushrooms, they were freshly cooked and the right temperature without wilting the salad. We have been to this restaurant numerous times but today was the worse experience I have ever had at any establishment. We arrived and sat at the bar like we always do ordered a couple of margaritas and appetizers. Just before we were gonna order dinner they decided to open up the bar doors so 3 more people could sit at the bar. It was 36 degrees out. I did not dress for eating outside. Nor did the 12 other people seated at the bar. We all looked at each other. I asked to see a manager and was told he wasn't there and then suddenly a man came out dressed in a flannel shirt and winter hat and I was told he was the manager. I explained the situation to him and he said it was the bartenders decision. He tried to pacify us by paying our tab but I just wanted to order dinner and eat without freezing. The restaurant has this warm family vibe. We were bright warm chips with great salsa, our drinks were bright quick and we were never rushed. Sitting at the bar, we started off with a great bartender. Then around 3:30 pm he left and a new bartender took over. The new bartender asked us once how we were doing. Then ignored us for about 15 minutes with his back turned towards us and he was constantly on his phone. In the mean time, he asked the couple at the opposite end of the bar 3 times if they needed anything. He was also more into his friends that were on the other side of the bar.
