We wanted something different for dinner and saw this new-to-us listing on Uber Eats. Takoyaki! How exciting! So we ordered a few things to try. The takoyaki came with a tangy-sweet and slightly fishy sauce. The balls were soft, springy, full of creamy richness and nice-sized pieces of octopus. Perfectly cooked, not tough or chewy. Unfortunately for me, they were served absolutely covered in bonito flakes. This made them incredibly fishy in a most cat-treat-smelling way. If you are not a fan of super-fishiness, I recommend asking they do not include the flakes. The chicken katsu was well-breaded, crisp outside and juicy inside, if a little underseasoned. The rice had a very faint coconut aroma that enhanced the chicken's flavor. No sauce came with it, but it could have used something. The steamed chicken dumplings were a freebie and were flavorful and tender, loaded with plenty of ground chicken. They could have used some herbs or scallion or something as they were a little one-note, but they were definitely hearty. The pork buns were the best of all. They were bursting with flavor, spicy, sweet, tangy, savory, and satisfying. The buns were pillowy-soft and calmed the heat of the pork. They are a MUST! I would eat those and the takoyaki (hold the bonito) again for sure. We'll definitely order again and try more things. read more

This was a must try and had been waiting a while. Well Sunday and Monday night (yes I had to do a double back) Mr Pan Ramen hit the spot. From the welcoming vibe at Carnes and being seated quickly to the festive drink menu with the various type of milk and green tea!! Winner why because I am a girl who does not shy away from extra strawberry poppin boba in her tea! Yes please. Of course the beef ramen was great with the crispy onions, fresh veggies and the paired with Shrimp Fried Rice just elevated the dish. But the show stopper and double back two days for me was the chicken karaage. Yes crispy chicken thighs that melt in your mouth paired with spicy mayo and sweet Asian chili sauce....yep that's my go to from now on...chicken karaage and strawberry tea. Came for dinner and was seated right away. They have plenty of tables, mainly for groups of four. At first glance I noticed the restaurant is spacious and has a nice clean aesthetic to it. Really suits a Japanese restaurant. I ordered a Tonkatsu ramen, Chicken Kaarage, and Taro Milk Tea w/ Tapioca. They have a variety of ramen and donburi (rice bowl), as well as bento box. It was my first time so I played it safe and went with the ramen. For my appetizer I tried the chicken kaarage. I wish it had more basil flavor. The taro milk tea was decent as well. Went today for lunch. Ordered Rich Garlic Chicken ramen noodles bowl. It has never let me down! Came hot and fresh and it was the only thing I ordered. I usually order the gyoza dumplings or the shrimp shumai first but went straight for ramen today. Full of flavor and tons do garlic taste. Service is usually pretty good. We tried this new spot over the weekend and had an amazing experience! We ordered two bowls of Ramen, some calamari, spring rolls, and edamame. They have a fairly extensive menu but only two strictly vegan options. I ordered the spicy vegan bowl which was super hot! I let our server know that I was unable to eat it and the manager quickly offered a replacement, no questions asked. They put the spice on the side. The spring rolls were some of the best I've had and the edamame and calamari were also very tasty. All of the waitstaff are friendly and helpful, the service was quick, and prices are reasonable. My daughter and I went here after an appointment. At first, I didn't know if I should walk in the side door or the front door as it's not clearly marked but the entrance is the front door. The place was small and had an interesting feel. The server was great. Drinks and food came out promptly. I ordered a mango green tea and although it came out with a cute cup/lid, the drink was too sweet and I ended up taking it home to my son. The Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen had a weird aftertaste and wasn't spicy. The edamame was decent. My daughter enjoyed her pork buns. I felt like it was slightly overpriced. The atmosphere appears casual, the service was mostly attentive. We ordered a variety of appetizers to include the crispy chicken wings, Chicken karaage, and pork bun. Everything that I tasted was pretty good. The wings were crispy and served very hot, and freshly prepared. The accompanying Thai Chili sauce was nice as well. I ordered the chicken fried rice, and share a portion of that with a friend, and it was good but I would have liked it served hotter. It was a nice portion size, the flavor was good. I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at Mr. Pan Ramen House in the Nexton/Summerville area. When I walked in, I was greeted by a young male host, who kindly asked if my table was for one. An older woman, who I assumed was either the owner or manager, initially wanted to seat me at a table right beside the area where food orders were being placed and picked up. Thankfully, the young male host moved me to a different table, which I appreciated. My server was Margarita. Unfortunately, she never introduced herself or welcomed me to the restaurant. Throughout my meal, she never came by to check on me or ask if I needed anything. The first time she approached my table was after I had already finished eating, when I needed a refill on my tea. By then, the opportunity to provide attentive service had already passed. What makes this so disappointing is that the food was excellent. The kitchen did an outstanding job, and I truly enjoyed my meal. Unfortunately, great food alone isn't enough to overcome the feeling of being overlooked and unimportant as a guest. I also noticed that the older woman spent much of her attention interacting with a nearby family while I felt largely ignored. I even had to ask the young male host who she was because she never came over to introduce herself or acknowledge me. I left the restaurant feeling disappointed and unwelcome. Whether that was intentional or not, that was my experience, and it's one I won't soon forget. Because of the food, I would consider visiting Mr. Pan again, but I would likely choose another location instead of the Summerville/Nexton restaurant. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback to heart. It had a seasoned boiled egg and some veggies and on top was a crispy piece of kaatsu. Finished with fried onion flakes. I really enjoyed this! My husband got the tonkatsu Ramen that has chicken and pork broth topped with both some chicken and pork slices. He really enjoyed this as well. I thought the brother needed a little more depth but it was reeally good. The menu advertises thick noodle but they were similar to traditional ramen noodle. Disappointing Takeout After an enjoyable first visit. My husband and I have eaten at Mr. Pan Ramen House in Summerville before, and our dine-in experience was really enjoyable. I had ramen that was delicious, my husband loved his bento box and the Thai tea was great. The atmosphere was nice, and the wait staff were friendly. Because of that positive experience, we decided to order takeout this time. Unfortunately, the takeout experience was completely different and really disappointing. The rice was undercooked to the point where it was hard to chew. The chicken karaage was extremely chewy and the batter was soft and greasy. The chicken such a strong fish taste that my husband genuinely thought I had ordered octopus. It tasted like the frying oil either needed to be changed or had been heavily used for seafood. Came by on a Wednesday evening and got seated right away for a party of 3. The menu has a variety of ramen including chicken and pork broths. We first started with a round of milk teas to kanpai with - I got the Okinawa milk tea and boba plus tried a sip of the coconut milk tea with rainbow jellies, loved the flavor of the tea and the boba was made expertly! For appetizers we all shared a bit, I got the chicken soup dumplings which came with a soy based sauce to dip in. Another plate to try was the takoyaki (octopus balls) which had a nice chewy texture. The next appetizer was shrimp shumai with a spice based sauce on the side. The crispness and soft center balanced well together..I loved the pickled shredded carrot presented in the middle of the basket too!! Once our ramen came we managed to have enough room to enjoy the pork based broth and ramen goodness. My friend got the miso based ramen and enjoyed it thoroughly while my fiancé and I enjoyed the garlic ramen. Could use more garlic hehe but overall enjoyed the dish which wasn't salty and the portions adequate. We opted for ordering for pickup as they were VERY busy inside. (Which to me is a good sign) Food was ready at specified time. It was HOT which is a big big plus. The portion sizes were generous. I opted for the shrimp ramen bowl. I give them credit for keeping the protein separate from the soup. They were large in size, crispy and hot. The ramen broth could've used just a touch of salt as it was kinda bland. Plenty of veggies and fixings to make the perfect ramen bowl. I chose to grab the Salmon Bento box and let's just say it wasn't anything that I'd order ever again. I did ask that the salmon be cooked well done. It came with onions, steamed rice, a salad, and steamed broccoli. Nothing and I mean nothing had a lick of seasoning on it. My rice was gooey, broccoli hard, and salmon was as hard a a rock. It had made me super sick (iykyk ) which is rare for me because i eat alot of asian dishes, the appetizer were great, but the ramen not great.
