Fairly meh experience here. Server was friendly but we waited a really long time after getting our fried green tomatoes (which were nearly flavorless) to get small plates. My corned beef Reuben had its bread soaked with grease but at the same time the sandwich was nearly flavorless, the meat had no taste, the Swiss cheese had no taste, the 1000 island dressing was completely non existent, either they put it on so thin that I couldn't taste or see it or they forgot it, and the whole thing really just tasted like sauerkraut. Great service on a busy Saturday night! Walked in around 6pm on a busy evening- immediately greeted and seated. Waitress was very prompt - took drink orders and allowed us plenty of time to review the menu. Someone should teach them how to serve with a clean spoons and not showing the previous persons food soil . Sent spoons back 3 times ...definitely not acceptable or sanitary . I am a major foodie, and food judge. Today, I had a perfect dining experience at Sweetwater One Twenty Three. Until now, I've never had a perfect dining experience anywhere...ever. I went there for breakfast and ordered steak and eggs with a potato pancake, sour dough bread and an espresso. The steak was cooked exactly as I ordered it, medium-medium rare. So many restaurants take your cooking requests as a suggestion. This chef did not. The steak had a perfect crust and was flavored just right. The eggs were over medium to a tee. The potato pancake had a couple of extra ingredients in it that nicely complimented the mildness of the potato flavor. All too often, potatoes are overpowered by whatever extra ingredients the chef adds. This pancake wasn't over browned, either. The sourdough bread tasted fresly baked. Even the espresso was perfect. I actually called the chef out to give him my compliments. The service was great. Judging by how hot the food was when it was placed on my table it was clearly brought out immediately after it was plated in the kitchen. BAM! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambience, too, was perfect. It was calm and peaceful. The diners there were the sort that you'd happily share a dining space with. There was nothing to distract me from my enjoyment of this fine meal as I slowly savored each and every bite[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Pricing? It's comparable to other places. Value? Knowing what I do now? Every visit has been consistent with top notch service and delicious food. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining . One of my favorite entrees is the short rib and ricotta gnocchi - it's tender marinated short rib with fresh ricotta cheese gnocchi and topped with shredded Asiago cheese. It's amazing ! I highly recommend this dish . Our most recent visit we ordered a special : sweet tea marinated fried chicken sandwich and fried zucchini . Both were absolutely delicious ! What a great spot for a Sunday lunch! We went up to Summerville for the afternoon and had a great time here. Parking is easy on a Sunday since so many other spots aren't open. We sat at a bar top - always fun to watch the comings and goings out of the kitchen. They had a couple of August specials that were excellent - bruschetta and mushroom ravioli. The shallots in the ravioli sauce could have been cooked down a bit longer but otherwise was stellar. The vegan bowl was delicious- we loved the peanut sauce on top. Was easy to find in the heart of downtown Summerville but drove right past the small great parking lot they have just for their customers. Was greeted and seated immediately in the smaller dining area. There looks to be a full bar on the opposite side. There is a good selection of foods for all tastes and they have a weekly special menu also. I order a cheeseburger well done and crispy fries . Unfortunately, I received my meal with the burger, medium to medium rare and definitely not crispy fries that were not hot. It took a minute for our waitress to come check on us, but eventually, I did get my burger back well done this time but not improved fries. My husband ordered off the special menu and requested the Blackened salmon Alfredo and he thought it was very good. We came here about 10am on a Sunday as a party of 6. We did a bit of research earlier that morning and knew they opened at 10am so we planned to be there a bit early. We were also able to review their menu as we had some dietary restrictions in our group which was helpful. We were able to be seated right away and were surprised at how many others must have had the same idea. The staff were already busy making drinks and taking orders. We sat inside but also noticed they had a nice covered area as well. We placed our drink orders and started deciding on our food. Our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We placed our orders and were really impressed with the variety of the menu, everything sounded fabulous. My wife ordered a vanilla latte with almond milk and it said it was so incredible she ordered a second which never happens. Our orders arrived in a timely manner and looked just as good as we had imagined. Everything tasted wonderful and we were all impressed. Our orders included the Frisco Bopper Melt, Meat Lovers Omelets with Potato Pancakes, Mediterranean Omelet, Vegan Bowl and Arctic Salmon Omelet. Super impressed with the food variety of the menu at Sweetwater 123! It reminded me of a diner but with a small town, charming environment. They make great use of space with the building: there's a variety of seating like booths, tables, high tops, bar area. The storefront is actually the back of the restaurant, to enter you can go through the shop or they have their own private parking where you'll find the entrance in the back and someone to greet you. (It's also helpful there's a free parking garage nearby!) The food itself was tasty, I liked the carrots and brininess of the tuna salad melt. The pressed sandwich was a bit cold when I got it, but still tasted good with the crispy sourdough. The sandwiches come with a sides option so opted for the cheesy grits. The grits were really comforting - random but the texture reminded me of overcooked rice. My friend got the catfish + grits with a potato pancake as a side plus biscuit which looked appetizing and homey. The mocha was nice and chocolatey and my friend got the Ghiradelli cappuccino which also looked great with all its frothiness. The staff is super kind and very attentive.
