If you're looking for a beautiful view of downtown Austin look no further than Azul Rooftop. Located on the 20th floor of the Westin This place is a whole vibe. Service is excellent. Our bartender went to school at Alabama so it was cool to talk to someone from our hometown. The drinks were good too. Watching the sunset on this rooftop was everything. I highly recommend checking this out.

The bar is on the 20th floor of the Westin Downtown. It's a small rooftop spot with a pool--feels more like a hotel bar than a public one. The floor can be wet, and the drinks were a letdown: mostly ice, overpriced, and gone in a couple of sips. The view is great, though. There are a few outdoor seats where you can relax and enjoy the city. We didn't try the food since it was raining and the seating was covered so we just stood with our drinks and enjoyed the view. Honestly, I have mixed feelings. The view is nice, but I'm not sure it's worth coming back just to pay for that. If I do return, I'm definitely sticking to beer. Also, don't be shy about asking drink prices if you're ordering something that is not in the menu -- 30ml of Casamigos was $26. Imagine ordering a double! And don't forget-- you'll need key access or a pass to use the elevator.

Solid rooftop bar with a great view and decent drinks, very nice ambiance! The service is pretty fast too.

Our large group went to Azul Rooftop for drinks after having dinner downstairs at Stella San Jac. We did not have reservations, but we managed to walk in and get a cabana because some of the people in our group were staying at the hotel. I don't know if the bar has an age restriction at night, but when we were there (around 10 pm on a Saturday night), there were children swimming in the pool with their parents. It sort of killed the vibe for me. The views of the skyline helped at least. Our server Britney was very nice and attentive. I ordered a drink called the Lavender Haze which I enjoyed. When last call came, Britney informed us that we could take our drinks back to the room or the hotel lobby. Azul was nice, but I wouldn't pay for a pool pass to visit.

I came to Azul just before Christmas for the holiday drinks. I had never been before, but can confirm it's super cute! I love the set up of the seating areas around the pool; it reminds me of a higher-up version of other rooftop bar/restaurants in Austin (e.g. Edge at the Marriott, or La Piscina at Austin Proper). They had a little holiday photo shoot area with a swing where you can take pics - was very cute. And drinks were lovely! I had the dirty Rudolph which was sweet and rich (proper holiday drink!) but relatively strong, and my friend had one of the zero proof cocktails (the merry mint cooler - like a mojito). The servers were very nice, not the most attentive (forgot part of my friend's order but my friend decided it was fine after all and they didn't charge her anyway) - that's the only reason I took off one star, but again, super super friendly! And they came and turned on the overhead heater after we had been sitting out for an hour or so and the sun went down. Overall I would ABSOLUTELY come here again for drinks even after the holidays - the vibe was quite immaculate :)

Was looking for a cool place to find a drink and a bite and we landed on this bar/lounge. So glad we did. The views were great! The hostess and our bartendar were great too. Everyone was super nice and friendly. They have an area with couches for folks who had rsvp's but thy also had a bar with 3 seats and then couches by the pool that were open seating. We sat at the bar since there were three of us and had a few cocktails, fries and the crab hushpuppies. The crab hush puppies had nice pieces of lump crab and the fries were crispy and there were a ton do them. T gave us suggestions for other places and that really helped us plan what to do next. Had a great time and the views were especially great once it got dark.

I did a winter cabana here and I loved it. Staff were friendly and it was a good time. Weather worked in our favor. This is one of the best rooftop views. The food is good. Drinks very tasty and strong We had a great time!

Great view of the hotel bar, friendly staff as the minimum was waived when I had an issue come up. Hotel bar needs a card to come up so you have to go to the front desk first which is annoying. The roof is on fire had a nice kick to it.

Sunday fundays are real at the Westin rooftop pool. DJ milo was amazing, we really enjoyed the music. I got to relax, and drink at the bar. They have small bar snacks on the menu to munch on while you enjoy the view. Great spot, must visit if you're in Austin. I believe it's open to the public on some days/times, so you don't have to stay at the hotel to enjoy this amazing hidden gem. Highly recommend, kid friendly.

Had an amazing time at Azul Rooftop! The atmosphere was incredible -- great views, good vibes, and excellent drinks. Christian was fantastic -- super friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. Definitely recommend asking for him when you visit!

Stopped here on a bar tour and was impressed with the roof top atmosphere and great drinks! You have to be staying at the hotel to access this bar. Our group was an exception as we were on a bar tour. Nonetheless, at night, the view up here is amazing. You can see for miles! It's a really cool way to see a lot of the city. There's an outdoor pool up here as well. I got an old fashioned to try while we were here. It was really strong, like many in Austin, but had a great taste too! They have a pretty decent menu of different cocktails to choose from.

Spent a Saturday evening in December at Azul for apps and drinks, and it was a great experience. The weather was perfect, the staff was friendly, and the drinks were on point. The hushpuppies and Po' Boy sliders were tasty and hit the spot!

Come here for the drinks and view, skip the appetizer. This rooftop bar on the 20th floor has the best view of downtown Austin with nice music and chill vibes. It's breezy at nighttime even in the middle of summer :) The drinks are strong, a bit pricey. Chips and salsa were stale though.

Sixth Street's neon and noise are basically next door, the Capitol sits up the hill, and the whole area is packed with people, bars, and that classic Austin mix of polished downtown hustle and late-night chaos. Velvet Taco is pure counter-service: you walk right up, order at the register, and then grab a seat. There's plenty of seating, so even with a couple of kids in tow it was no problem finding a spot. The place leans hard into what can only be called white-people tacos--soft, sad flour tortillas that taste like they came straight out of a grocery-store package, loaded with every wild creation the kitchen can invent. Global mashups, brunch hybrids, burger impostors, the works. No one is pretending these are the real deal. I went for the chicken-and-waffles taco, which was actually built on a thin, real waffle instead of a tortilla. Surprisingly good--crispy, a little sweet, chicken holding its own. The burger taco tasted exactly like a cheeseburger that had wandered into a tortilla and decided to stay. We also tried the shrimp taco (fine), one daughter got the kids' chicken taco (perfectly kid-level), and the other ordered the chicken tikka (spicy, saucy, and very much in the "why is this on a tortilla?" category). Everything was okay. Comparable to Torchy's in that same creative-American-taco lane. If you're looking for a true Mexican taco, stay far away. But if you just want to play around with some decent flavors on a cheap flour store-bought tortilla while sitting in the middle of downtown Austin, this is your spot. Not my favorite. I had only stopped by this Food Truck (area) to try Desnudo Coffee, and spotted this business. I had heard some good things about Veracruz, but I was planning lunch elsewhere. Well, that other spot was CLOSED ON WEDNESDAYS! Seeing my situation, I saw it as opportunity to try the options at Veracruz --- including the famous from Food Network, migas taco. I ordered 4 tacos: the migas, migas poblano, shrimp macha (!!), and the Dona Reyna tacos. All of these specific tacos were priced between $6 and $6.75 per taco, not bad in Austin, and not bad considering the quality of said tacos. As you can see from my order, I opted on the more "novel" choices and they did not disappoint; that said, I do HIGHLY recommend the two variations of the migas taco and the shrimp macha taco. Oh, the shrimp macha was so FIRE, the flavors were bold and smoky with a kiss of heat. The migas tacos were FULLY LOADED, and the scramble with the tortilla chips were flavorul.
