I was referred here from my regular optometrist in hopes I may get help with my issue. It has been over a year that I have been waiting for all the kinks to work out. Finally, I am here and waiting to be seen. After strolling thru my phone , people watching , got anixous. Theresa I heard my named called I was quickly seated. In walks in the Doctor, Doctor Choi he was very through with my exam and explained that in my situation I will need to see Oculoplastics. Today I was greeted so warmly by the Azul Vision staff. Giana lead me to the exam room where she performed a vision test for glaucoma. She explained step by step what I needed to do, and the test was successfully completed. I appreciated her positive attitude and caring demeanor. Dr. Abnous was excellent in her speaking with me about the test results. She was friendly and made me feel at ease. She had a great bedside manner! I was thoroughly disgusted by the whole staff. They were rude, inconsiderate and overwhelmingly hard to deal with down to the receptionist. I was supposed to have surgery with Dr Daniel Choi but I've called him several times and he never responds. I guess if you are Armenian you were get what you asked for. Support staff are not supportive. Parking located in back, mostly for staff. Doctors sometimes move around with other So Calif locations.

Because I work full time, there is just no way at all to grab my order, whether being contacts or glasses. They won't even be open on weekends. Although the doctors are great, the staff is not. They are never available when needed. They don't return my calls when I asked if I could possibly have my order delivered. They don't put customers 1st. read more

My appointment was canceled just one hour before my appointment. I was already in route, and I had to take an hour off of work. I called the number back ... 1818-583-9933... and I spoke to a receptionist who stated, "your appointment was not canceled, and you can go to it." When I arrived, I was told the appointment was canceled, and I had to reschedule... a month and a half from now. Whatever service you are contracting to for telephone receptionist is very poor. Also, it is very inconsiderate to cancel an appointment with only an hour's notice. I do not appreciate losing out on my wages for incompentcy on your company's part. The only reason why I'm not asking my doctor for a referral to some one else is because I am anxious to have my eye treated. This office does work during this crazy times and takes all the precautions in order for everyone to stay safe and healthy. Before entering, you knock and wait for them to open the door. Once in, they will have you do the paperwork and wait for few minutes to be taken in for your exam. Nurse Elena is so friendly and helpful. Our exam nurse Raul is a delight. He is very helpful and caring, makes you less nervous about the eye dilating procedure and leaves you feeling all positive and well. Dr. Duan is very professional, knowledgeable and humble. Answers all the questions you might have, explains everything that you need to know very thoroughly. Highly recommend them, meeting caring medical staff nowadays is just refreshing and makes you feel that you matter. Excellent care. read more

If i could give it a 0/5 stars I would. I waited FOUR months for my appointment just for it to get cancelled an HOUR before the day of my appointment. What kind of care quality is that. I was supposed to come in to get a ball in the eye checked and it's been over four months now. What kind of care is this. Just for them to say it's not that serious or important. How could you know if you have never seen it? I asked if I can make a new appointment soon because it was getting painful and irritating in the eye. The availability of appointments is terrible. My referral for Azul was in July. I have had to wait months for every appointment. I need a very simple procedure to correct a drooping eyelid that is impairing my vision. It's now April and they don't have any dates available for surgery. I had eye surgery to improve my vision to not to wear glasses any more. I was told by Dr. Daniel Choi that I wouldn't need glasses after the surgery, however, instead of getting better my eye is now worse than before the surgery. I still need glasses and now my eye is always watery and see blurry. I went to see him and he told me he was going to do a correction, but trying to get a appointment to see him again the office gave me and appointment for three month. My surgery was on 3/11/25. The appointment they gave me is for 7/29/25. The ladies at the front are rude and no body care that you are suffering. I paid $3,500.00 for one eye, beside what they charge my insurance. This office is a rip off and unethical. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. and since they don't care about the damage this Dr did to me, I will file a complaint with medical board against the Dr. and a complaint with the better business bureau. read more

I had to get an eyelid biopsy performed. Dr Perry did great work, and was very attentive. However, I got the biopsy in October of 2024, and as of January 7 2025, I still do not have the results! The scheduling is horrible. It took weeks to get someone to call me back in order to schedule the appointment, then they called later to change the appointment another month away! Meanwhile, still waiting for the results on whether or not I have a cancerous growth on my eyelid!!! read more

I took my parents for a comprehensive eye exam at California Eye Specialists. The overall experience was excellent. The front desk receptionist (Mia) was kind and patient. The optometrist we saw (Dr. Agatha Sleboda) was excellent. She was thorough and explained all the procedures to my parents. Given their limited English, I had to translate what she was saying. She was really patient throughout the entire process. She was kind and gentle and made my parents very comfortable. The facility was clean and there was ample parking in the building. They give you an appointment at 8:00 in the morning but they open the office and the staff starts coming to work after 8:05.....

The doctors I have seen there have been good but the front desk is AWFUL. I sat for over an hour and a half after my appointment time and was told and I quote "Your appointment is cancelled you'll have to make and other on." I asked why she hadn't told me this earlier and she replied "we are very busy" I guess my time means nothing to this woman! Would I recommend them to someone NO. There are two reviews here. Dr Daniel Choi is the best ever! He gets 100% great! He is kind, efficient, professional. All a patient could ever want in a doctor. Then, there's the support staff. I was approved by Dr Choi for surgery over 50 days ago. I cannot get anyone from the surgery scheduling to call me. I call the offices no less than once a week to be told that the scheduling department will call me in a week. So, here I am seven weeks later and no word from scheduling. Not one call. I was very impressed with this facility (AKA Azul Vision). This was my first visit. I found the staff to be professional and courteous. I was very pleased with Dr. Patel, as well as his assistants Gamer and Jose. All of my questions were answered. Dr. Patel spent time with me - I didn't feel rushed. All in all, I felt I was in capable hands. Samantha and Liz were lovely, and very accommodating. I highly recommend this facility. read more

I have read some poor reviews about the office staff dating back from 2020-2022, but I assure all of those problems have been resolved as this facility. My wait time was 5 minutes. The front desk was friendly and helpful. Dr. Abnous who did my eye exam was very personable and clearly good at what she does. The woman who helped me select new frames was kind and friendly as well. There was no pressure from her. She patiently worked with me to find exactly what I wanted. Then she surprised me and took my old glasses and did an entire service on them...ultrasound cleaning, straightening, installed new nose rests...got them back in tip top shape to use while I wait on my new glasses to arrive. Even the young fella who did my initial processing (checked my old lens, did a preliminary exam of my eyes prior to the Dr doing her thing) was very friendly and professional and happy to answer questions. The staff here took an active role to be sure I was getting the full benefits of my insurance plan as well which resulted in a 30% reduction of the bill. I will not go anywhere else. read more

I had a terrible appointment here with Dr. Bhavan! He failed to even make eye contact with me during our 4 minute appointment. First, Dr. Bhavan introduced himself with his back towards me while staring at a computer screen. Then he inspected my eye, went back to the computer screen and spat out a bunch of medical jargon I didn't understand, again facing the computer screen with his back towards me. After I asked what one of those words meant, he said "stye". Why not just say stye? It felt like he was being intentionally unintelligible so I wouldn't ask any questions and he could just take my money and move along to the next sucker. He then said he'd refer me to another doctor and asked me to follow him so I could be taken care of. He then walked away without asking if I had any questions (or even any understanding) and then just walked away barely saying goodbye or thank you or anything. I just saw the back of his head walking away. In fact in the four minutes I was attended by him I think I saw the back of his head for 3:50 of that -- what a jerk! Further, I had asked the nurse to check my vision, which she did, but when I was checked out they refused to give me the results of my vision test, or any paperwork from the visit, telling me if I wanted my vision tested I should go to an optometrist (even tho the nurse had just tested my vision). She was very frustrated and short with me when I explained that I couldn't meet the next doctor on the one day of the month that he was available. If you just want someone to take your money and process you, this a good place to come. If you're seeking care and understanding about a medical condition, I'd highly recommend going somewhere else. read more

"Dr." Nayiri Abous was rude, patronizing, didn't answer my questions, didn't even look at the test results that they performed. In March 2023, Azul Ophthalmologist 1 confirmed cataract diagnosis, then left the practice. Started over with Azul Ophthalmologist 2, who confirmed cataract diagnosis, scheduled surgery, then left the practice. Was referred to Azul Ophthalmologist 3, surgery was scheduled, then canceled because he practices surgery in a center not covered by this insurance. From the first visit in March 2023 to the cancellation in February 2024, never able to achieve the sight-saving surgery needed. Scheduling staff repeatedly failed to respond to requests for an explanation or provide help in trying to get on the schedule. Finally gave up and went elsewhere, where, magically, with one appointment, scheduled the cataract surgery so desperately needed. Azul was a huge waste of time. read more

Five stars for doctor Abnous and the call center lady, but the front desk receptionist bring the 5 stars down to a 2. As other reviews mention, they are incompetent. I drove 40 minutes in traffic to show up to my appointment yesterday to only be told that my insurance isn't accepted. What? I have the exact same insurance as I did last year when they saw me. They proceed to tell me I had blue cross last year. I HAVEN'T been with blue cross in about 10 years so that's impossible, but they insist. I gave them my blue shield card to show them. They barely looked at it and told me "we don't accept this insurance." You don't accept blue shield? Um, yes you do. I just left the appointment feeling so discouraged and down because every single step is a battle with our healthcare system and people like this make the nightmare so much worse. It's already enough dealing with chronic health issues to deal with a horrible healthcare system on top of it. As soon as I got home I got online and confirmed I have the EXACT same insurance as I did last year, so I don't know what they were talking about. This morning I called them to get more clarity on the situation. The lady who picked up was super sweet and helpful, I think her name was Lee?? She called the receptionists at the Glendale office to see what was going on. Now the girls in Glendale are saying that I need an authorization to be seen. What? No I don't. I called my insurance company and confirmed I do not need a prior authorization. What I DO need is a referral from my primary, not an authorization. What COULD have made this situation better would have been the receptionist to have called me before my appointment to inform me there was an issue. Why did I waste my time to drive there if you knew I couldn't be seen? Also, why are you outright lying to me about what insurance I had last year? And also why are you outright lying about not taking Blueshield insurance? You should be fired. You both should be fired for being so incompetent and not doing your job properly. Whatever women were working in the front on Nov 17th at 4pm should get trained again or just outright fire them for not caring about their patients. Been coming here for a few years now with no problems. Parking free, check-in easy, clean facility. It does get busy so there is a wait, but worth it. Doctors are all professional and knowledgeable especially the staff. My last assistant that was there was the most professional and considerate health care worker I have ever encountered. Explained all the tests, showed the images of the exams and results and was very thorough and professional. I would recommend this clinic to others. read more

Writing this review while standing outside in the hallway :) Yes, it's those typical reviews that say if I can give 0 stars I would. I brought my grandmother in today (2/1/2022) for a follow up on her eye surgery. My grandmother is 83 years old and cannot speak English. In addition, suffers from dementia. As her caretaker I take her to every appointment and am with her throughout. I was treated with the utmost disrespect by the front desk representative, Medyk. Stating I cannot sit in here and would have to wait outside. I thought it was quite unnecessary but let it go. After waiting outside for a while, I got tired of standing and went inside to grab a chair. The front desk representative, Medyk immediately launched from her seat rudely telling me I cannot take a chair outside. She then unprofessionally engaged with me in a back in forth match where I asked her if I should sit on the floor and the fact that we are patients here and she stated the patient (my grandmother) can sit here and I can wait outside and (again) I cannot take the chair. If you didn't read this just note: this the recurring theme in almost all the reviews is that this office is terribly unprofessional and do yourself a favor and stay away at all costs. read more

I had a consultation with Dr Warner today. I was a bit concerned because the yelp reviews from the medical group's other offices (not specifically Dr Warner but California eye Specialists In Pasadena and Monrovia) we're not as high as I would have hoped. I left the Glendale office extremely impressed. Dr. Warner and his staff in Glendale are extremely warm, professional, informative and helpful. They ran right on time (in fact they saw me earlier than my actual appointment time), they didn't try to push any procedures and the entire staff was very pleasant and welcoming. Dr Warner was very friendly, actively listened to and addressed each of my concerns, and is very present in his chair side manner. We found the right fit treatment plan for my situation and I am glad I went today. I am a general dentist and am very cognizant and mindful of how my staff treats patients and focuses on providing a great patient experience. Dr. Warner and his staff did an excellent job making sure they did the same. Dr. Warner and staff at the Glendale office need to be reviewed on their own merits because they deserve to be. read more

When I didn't pass my DMV eye test I was panicked. With only 3 weeks before my license expired I needed help fast. I have been a patient with the Glendale office for a while and am glad. Liz the physicians asst. got me an exam the next day, totally unheard of, and with Dr. Donna Duan's help I was ably to get new glasses and pass my test. The young lady who helps with insurance and selecting glasses was very nice, no pressure sale (I love that--so tired of people trying to get me to buy $500 frames) and informative. I went in today for my long-deferred appointment at the Glendale office to have the rapidly declining vision in my high eye. I had an appointment in July but had to cancel since my wife wasn't able to take me on that date. I spent about 30-45 minus on the phone to get it scheduled, aside from the time on hold, the scheduler kept having to put me on hold for some reason. When I arrived, I was told my appointment was in Glendora. Since I had specifically requested Glendale this was really not too helpful. The scheduling at this place is a disaster. I've been impressed by the Doctor's, but the office staff just doesn't have it together. read more
