But I did it and I felt so free and liberated! And guess what!? I have had SO many compliments on it, even by the ones who told me not to do it. She's is the balayage QUEEN. I've experienced Meleni's magic at Azura Studio. Before I rave about Meleni, I will say the studio is a lovely, open, and airy space with a welcoming environment. Now about Meleni. This woman has serious *talent* and is so super chill and cool to be around that at first, I didn't realize what a hair wizard she was! Each time I get out of her chair, I am more in awe of her skills and what she can do with my head full of cowlicks. This last haircut, she managed to give me the perfect Louise Brooks bob....aside from some pomade, I don't have to put *any* effort into my hair looking this awesome! Years ago, I was a loyal client of the Vidal Sassoon salon in NYC. Even with their cut, blowdry, and product, my hair never could be wrangled into this perfect of a bob. I am seriously in awe, I never thought my hair could possibly have the bob I coveted for decades! She's also a true artist when it comes to color! I like the atmosphere of the salon, but I've had 2 bad experiences with 2 different stylists there. Meleni was difficult to schedule with and not professional about it at all--really rather snotty. Her haircut was not that great either, and she droned on about herself the entire time. Then I scheduled with Trisa, who raised her rates by 20% without telling me when I scheduled! She should have credited me the difference due to not communicating this. So I ended up paying $72 with tip for a haircut I really dislike, and am left feeling like she didn't listen to a word I said about how to cut it. These stylists are overrated and overpriced. Discovered Azura and Crystal through a friend. A friend who had hair all the way down her back and Crystal transformed her hair into the cutest and one of the best hairstyles I've seen in ages. I was so impressed that i decided to give Crystal a try. I've seen her twice, thrilled both times with my cut. She spent quite a bit of time with me trying to help me figure out what I wanted. I had longish hair that I always wore up. What's the point? So, I wanted something that i couldn't put up and easy enough to style that I would wear it the way it should be worn. My skill set when it comes to hair styling is pretty grim, so I needed something almost foolproof. And that's exactly what I got, cute style, a little messy looking which is a match for my lifestyle and it's easy for me to style. It's important to her that I was pleased with my cut and offers to do any touch-ups if anything isn't quite to my liking. I don't need any touch-ups, the cute is great. I am very happy with the whole experience. Crystal works part-time so she can focus on spending time with her family. I support that 100%, but means that she books up quickly. read more

It's so hard to get a good stylist. I have very straight, long and thick hair. If you make a wrong cut, it really shows. I see Julianna Cleary there and it's months before I can get it, but I have learned to keep appointments and schedule the next one right away. The salon is pretty and located downtown. I understand they offer microblading and other services, but haven't tried that. Will have to get my husband in for a haircut, he has curly hair that is a challenge because he like to keep it long. read more

Absolute worst wax experience I have ever had! I had my brow, lip, and bikini done. The lady who did it was late, distracted with her phone, dropped hot wax on my lip, told me multiple times that my "hair is weird", and applied and reapplied wax unit I started to bleed! I had to ask her to stop. I walked out with an incomplete wax! Just for the record-I have been waxing for years and have never experienced anything quite like this. Horrible. Zero starts. Got my hair done by Brian Greco.....do not go to him unless you want bad highlight. I look like a tiger/zebra---MY hair is ruined! My hair has bleeding spots with bad demarcations ! Horrible. I contacted him and he was not able to fix it because he was out of town-- I contacted the salon owner -left her multiple VM and texts regarding the situations and she did not return my calls or texts -I even send her pictures. Do not use this guy---unless u want bad hair--I am reporting this person to the better business bureau .He did say he will give me money back -but money is not an issue!!! Chaotic place, the providers are all individuals with messed up scheduling and inaccurate pricing listed. I just want a calm, and welcoming place to get my haircut. My hair is not challenging, and i get a simple cut to it's not that 'technical' a challenge. I will continue to look for a more professional place. read more

We came to Bend to check out the town and get some epic skiing in on Mt. Bachelor. While checking out Downtown Bend after a day on the Mountain, we happened to walk by a hair salon called Azura'. We asked the woman at the front if there was an opening for a hair cut available, as I wanted to treat myself to something special to take home from Bend. I needed a hair cut since I hadn't taken the time to do so in awhile. My hair is wavy and thick and I had not had a good haircut in awhile. The prices at Azura' are fantastic compared to that of those in California and I was eager to spend some me time. I was able to walk in and get an appointment on a Wednesday mid day. I got a haircut from Susan Harman and LOVE how it turned out! I really don't need to fuss with it after I wash, towel dry and put some product through it. I think that says the haircut is pretty epic if it styles itself! Bend was a fun trip and if I ever make it back, I'll be sure to plan it around when I need a haircut! read more

I would not recommend one of the stylists at this salon, Jayson. Beyond the fact that he can't cut bangs to save his life, changes his prices from one minute to the next, and doesn't return phone calls, he is an arrogant man who made a point of letting me know over and over again that he is NOT gay! Like I Care? Just cut my hair! Or wait a minute, don't bother. I have not had experience with any of the other stylists, but I did not appreciate the "vibe" of the salon. I'd heard that Amanda did good hair there, so made an apptmt. but Amanda wasn't available on my free day, so the option was Bobbi... no greeting, no welcome, no acknowledgement once you enter at this little no frills salon... Bobbi too busy yacking with someone to acknowledge my presence... so I felt no one had decency to greet me or ask me politely to wait just a minute 'til they finished their conversation.. Jessica Quashen is AMAZING! I cant say it enough. I went in wanting to go a little lighter for summer, but unsure on trying someone new. I saw Jessica and instantly trusted her. She recommended that I get some highlights and a longer layered cut that would frame my face and give me dimension, but still be manageable for my crazy hectic life. I am so pleased! I went to Melanie 3 times. I think she is knowledgeable but she is too enamored of herself to listen to the client. All three visits she talked the whole time about herself and did exactly what I asked her not to do. She used thinning shears and left a hole in my hair. My first visit I had a whole in my hair from someone else and specifically asked her not to use them. She did not listen to me and got irritated when I tried to explain my hair. Go see Randi ASAP! She is a wonderful stylist who has an incredible artistic talent for natural-looking balayage and ombre coloring. I underwent a huge transformation with my hair and October, and each time I go in, she perfects my look even more. Just amazing! She uses products and processing that is kind to the hair and she is great at perfecting a look that is perfect just for you. Her sweet, upbeat personality makes me feel right at home, and her prices are reasonable. She is so personable and really takes the time to brainstorm, listen and discuss ideas with you.
