If it wasn't for my experience today, they usually have great masseuses, been going here for years BUT today they tried to bully me into giving a higher tip (I had originally tipped 15% btw). As I was about to sign, she saw the amount I put and said "massage was not good? tip minimum is $10", pressuring me to increase my tip. Totally unprofessional and I won't be coming back unfortunately, when I've even tipped 25% in the past. I work in the service industry and live off of tips, but I would never openly harass a customer into rewriting their tip, even after it was already a fair/generous amount. It's sad that the behavior of the owners/front desk/or management will result in less customers and lower tips for the talent of the hard working masseuses. Absolutely horrible experience! I broke out in hives from head to toe, my whole body was itching, and I even had trouble breathing because of the essential oil they used. I only did a 60-minute foot massage with a 20-minute back massage, and it turned into a nightmare. When I asked what oil they used, they couldn't even tell me! They brushed it off saying they don't have allergies--well, reality check: some of us do, and I'm one of them. How can a business not even know what products they're putting on people's skin? That's beyond careless. To make things worse, I couldn't even get answers because they didn't speak enough English to explain anything. I left feeling unsafe, frustrated, and covered in hives. Haven't been in awhile as I've been going to Serenity in Covina. Glad to say that they still have some pretty good massage therapists. Honestly it can be hit and miss when you go. They change staff so often hence the reason why I haven't been coming consistently. Paid $70 for a 90 min private room full body massage and really enjoyed it. I have been going to Azuza Foot Massage for years, in 2025 I had some major problems with my knees. I had a hard time walking normal, I was in pain that is where I met Grace, she is fantastic. I went there a few times to see Grace, she is my little angel with magic hands. Now, I am pain free on my feet and knees. For starters, I am the type of person who likes their massage to be a "hurts in a good way" type gig. This massage was a little bit all over the place in such a way that I had enough time to have passing thoughts, be aware of those passing thoughts, be able to internally chuckle about said thoughts, and return to "relaxation" mode. I opted for a $40 sixty minute foot / body massage. While receiving the foot portion of my massage here are some of the passing thoughts: "um...[insert skewed eyebrows here] is the masseuse texting or otherwise distracted? There are sure a lot of pauses going on here. But I can't know b/c I have a towel over my eyes." "hmmm...is this the technique I saw on that reel where the same area gets rubbed / slapped or kneaded 35+ times in order to drain lymph nodes / adjust hormones??" "Wow...I've counted 100 strokes going one way on my toe [making 200 total]! He must know something's wrong and therefore has to "work" it out, I guess." [insert shoulder shrug here] "Is this guy NOT bothered by my not too long, not too short toenail scraping his hand as he rubs on the above mentioned other toe? Cuz...I am." [insert internal chuckle to self here] Overall the massage was "okay" it got better near the end, pressure was harder, more consistent, areas that needed attention received it. I'm guessing even the masseuse felt more in his element and seemed to be more confident or comfortable working my back area. The spa was clean and sanitized. The restroom was housed way in the back of the building - it was dark and a bit hard to find. There are lots of rooms for private massage sessions all of which were well lit and uniformly equipped with the lotion, oil, towels, and massage table / bed. I came here based on yelp and the reviews. I called and they got me an appointment. It's in a shopping center so there was no issue with parking. The place is very quiet and even has a sign . They take credit card. You pass a curtain and there are a lot of beds. There's nowhere to set your stuff so you just put it on the floor I guess. You lay down on the bed then they put your feet in hot water but it was not overly hot. They put a towel over your head so I enjoyed that and you didn't feel uncomfortable with an open room anymore. They really didn't ask about pressure it was just a routine massage. They do focus on head and your face so you get relaxed right away. The lady's pressure was low to medium so it might not be the place for some people but they do a good job. I felt relaxed and a lot better after the end of my massage. read more

When it was time to pay I used my debit card, then planned to tip with cash. I had 2 five dollar bills and asked if I could get one broken down so I could leave $8 which is a 20% tip. The man looked at me confused so I just assumed there was a language barrier. I again tried to explain that I wanted 5 one dollar bills to make the tip of $8. He told me "just give me $10" this threw me off and made me upset. I'm the customer. I will decide what to tip. And a 20% tip is generous! Tips are APPRECIATED, not MANDATORY. So I told him "break this five, or you only get $5" he finally gave me 5 ones and I set the he $8 dollars on the counter. He scowled at me and snatched up the $8. I found this very rude and ungrateful, so I reached over and snatched it back and told him that if he's going to be so ungrateful, then he gets nothing. He yelled something at me in another language and I turned around and walked out the door. I am a generous tipper to a fault. I have worked in the service industry and continue to work in a customer service based job. However, I will not be treated like my generosity is not good enough. In this economy?!?! I think not! I went back to this place because the first time I got a great massage. This second time the massage was very good, and I cannot complain about that. I got one hour which is $50 and I tipped the lady $10 which is higher than 15%. She looked very upset when I told her that I would tip her $10 she kept mumbling things in mandarin and making gestures. This is one of the most pleasant massage places I've found. I go at least once a week since I am so comfortable with the professional staff. It is quiet, clean and very reasonable priced. From the minute you walk in there is someone at the desk to greet you. Their pricing chart is on the desk counter with the description of the massages you get for a specific price. The interior of the business has dimmed lighting and plays soft "oriental" type of music, you get a feeling of quiet serenity and as soon as your massage begins all seems so tranquil. The massages never seem to last long enough. I don't know what other helpers have tipped their masseuses but I always leave a 10 tip. It seems so little to pay for having a complete stranger rub your body while partially unclothed and yet being totally comfortable with it. I would recommend this place to any one of my friends.
