I'm a big fan of both stairmaster workouts and strength training, so when I heard Bünda offers a class that's 50/50 stairmaster and weights, I was immediately in! I took a class with Iman and had such a great experience. They ask you to show up early, and I really appreciated why: the coach personally greets you, walks you through the format, and checks in about any injuries. I had recently tweaked my back, so it was reassuring to let Iman know ahead of time. It made me feel more comfortable and not like I was wussing out on the weights =p The workout itself was fantastic: three sets on the stairmaster alternating with three sets of strength training on the floor. Each station is stocked with its own weights, so it's easy to tailor the intensity. Want to go heavier than 30lbs? They've got dumbbells up to 75 lbs in the back. The studio is spotless and thoughtfully set up, with nice little touches like hair ties and tampons in the bathroom, small things that make a big difference. Overall, Bünda feels welcoming, challenging, and well run. Highly recommend if you love mixing cardio and strength in one efficient class. I loved Iman's energy and friendly vibes!

Bunda Costa Mesa is the first OC location but there are several in the LA area. I joined Bunda as a founding member when they opened in late October 2024 and I am still seeing my membership through. As you can see I have a little over a 100 check-ins so I can leave an honest review. Booking is easy. You can book on the app, website or call in. The owners are Rob and Jonny and they are INCREDIBLE. They really are invested in the business and take pride in it. Very rare you won't see one of them on site without greeting you with a smile. The front desk team is also very warm and welcoming. Becca is my girl at check in. She is quick, attentive and friendly. The workouts themselves vary on days but always expect a 50 minute workout with half of it being on the stair master. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are butt and legs days. While Tuesday and Thursdays are upper body and ABs. The weekends are glute camp Saturdays and Sundays are total body. I find Sundays to be the toughest for myself. I really enjoy how the week is split up and focuses on different body parts. The trainers really are amazing here and so kind. I can talk about all of them forever! Catie holds down the mornings for the most part she always has a solid playlist and so cheerful. Katrina is incredible with demonstrations and making sure we understand form and how it all works together. Iman has the highest energy and always gets me through my low days. Her and Katrina are always encouraging on going heavier. I love taking Nicole's classes on Friday nights and Sundays. She keeps them spicy but pushes us. I enjoy whenever Alexa and Ashley fills in as they are great at demoing and pushing us through as well. Otherwise, Rob and Jonny also bring the heat when they teach and always want you leveling up. Overall, I have mad love for the Bunda Costa Mesa team. This boutique gym is top notch and definitely recommend. They also have a water machine, bathrooms on site and an in body scan machine. They also have fun challenges throughout the year to keep you motivated which I really appreciate!

Worst gym experience I've had…read more I considered joining this gym and spent a few days researching it before signing up. I spoke with several current and former members and also reviewed the Yelp and Google reviews. Unfortunately, the feedback was overwhelmingly negative. One concern I heard repeatedly was that members were asked to provide their bank account and routing numbers, and some reported being charged fees that they said were never clearly disclosed. When questions were asked about those charges, there seemed to be little explanation available. I also had concerns about the staff's ability to answer basic questions. When I asked for the corporate phone number, I was told they didn't know it, yet I was able to find it with a quick Google search. I also asked who had opened my account and was told the system didn't provide that information. Overall, I found the experience frustrating due to the lack of clear answers and transparency. The gym atmosphere also wasn't a good fit for me personally. It felt more like a social scene than a place focused on fitness, and that simply isn't the environment I'm looking for. Based on my experience and research, I decided not to move forward with a membership.

Despite a 40minute drive from my home, I have made my way out to Costa Mesa to make sure I am able to attend the classes. After ClassPass, I had done the new member $30 for 3 classes and had an amazing time. When I called ahead because I was going to be late due to unforeseen traffic, the staff was kind enough to do a grace cancel despite calling only an hour ahead. I have done 4 classes so far and I will be sure to come back!!! The instructors and vibes are crazy good and I love this spot!

I called a second time the next day on Friday to follow up and they said they'd found it and put it in the lost and found bin and that I could pick it up the next time I came in. I live 30 minutes away so I wasn't able to come in until six days later (today) and it wasn't in the lost and found bin and they said it might've been donated. You would think that calling twice and having my name and number connected to that item would be enough to prevent it being donated not even a week later. I know I'm a ClassPass client but I claimed my item and clearly had intentions to retrieve it if I called twice right after the class and it's pretty upsetting that I was reassured it would be there and then it wasn't. If staff wasn't sure if I'd come back for it, a pickup time could've been coordinated. I know studios are technically not responsible for lost or stolen items and it's not even expensive but it's the principle of how it shouldn't have happened in a small gym and how it could've been easily communicated between staff or with me bc if I'd known they'd do this I would've made the 30 minute drive for it. I actually booked a class tonight just to pick up that jacket bc I normally cycle elsewhere. Now I'm just hoping for a callback on the unlikely chance they locate my property and that means I'll have to drive down yet again and that's IF they didn't give it away without my consent. There needs to be some kind of replacement or financial compensation for this bc this is truly unacceptable. I'm sorry to leave a bad review on a small business that has been otherwise pleasant but this was poorly handled af, that was my favorite jacket so yes it's dumb but this ruined my night and was upsetting so unless the situation is somehow rectified by returning my belongings or compensating the loss caused by the mishandling of this situation I'm going to remain unhappy with my overall experience and leave this review up. I've been to a lot of other studios in the area and they've NEVER lost or donated anything I've forgotten so this feels incredibly shady and careless towards clientele and made me lose all trust and interest in the business

Whether you're new to working out or have been training for years, this gym makes it easy to feel comfortable and motivated. The staff is always friendly and professional. They greet you with a smile, keep the facility spotless, and are quick to help if you ever have a question about the equipment or your membership. I've noticed how consistently clean everything is -- the locker rooms, restrooms, and workout areas are always well maintained, which makes a big difference. The gym layout is great: there's plenty of space between machines, and I've never had to wait long for equipment, even during busier hours. The cardio section is huge, with rows of treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals. The strength-training area has a wide variety of machines and free weights perfect for all fitness levels. I also appreciate the HydroMassage beds and Total Body Enhancement booths -- amazing perks that make recovery feel luxurious! Another thing I really like is the 24-hour access at many locations. It's convenient for anyone with a busy schedule, and the membership prices are extremely reasonable for what you get. The Black Card membership is totally worth it if you like traveling or visiting different locations -- it gives you flexibility, guest privileges, and extra amenities. What sets Planet Fitness apart is the culture -- it's genuinely a judgment-free zone. Everyone is focused on their own goals, and the staff encourages a positive, respectful environment. It's the perfect place for beginners who might feel intimidated at other gyms, as well as for regulars who want a clean, friendly, and affordable fitness space. If you're looking for a gym that combines cleanliness, great equipment, friendly staff, affordable memberships, and a motivating atmosphere, Planet Fitness is definitely the place to be. Every visit leaves me feeling stronger, healthier, and happier.

I retorted, "Since the software itself allowed me to scan my way in, am I somehow freeloading off you personally?" The facility itself is beautiful, upscale, and consistently clean, with thoughtful amenities like Kiehl's products in the locker rooms that make the experience feel elevated. What really makes this gym stand out, though, are the amazing instructors. Cory for spin, Mariah for mat Pilates, and Haly, Isaiah, and Carmen for Alpha are some of my favorites. Last year, around May 2025, they introduced CTR, a reformer-based Pilates class that was a total game changer for me. I no longer needed to go to a separate Pilates studio. Rob and KO helped build the program, and they were both spectacular. Rob is rarely there now, and KO recently left the gym. In my opinion, Anisa Diaz is an exceptional CTR instructor. Honestly, she's great in every class I've taken with her, including spin and mat Pilates. No two CTR classes with her are ever the same. She's incredibly knowledgeable about the human body, has excellent flow, and every movement feels intentional and challenging in the best way. She consistently brings fresh ideas and new challenges that keep the classes engaging and fun. She truly elevated the entire experience. However, over the past few months, some of her classes have been cut, and I feel the CTR program has started to feel lacking and subpar. Because of that, I've found myself returning to private Pilates studios like Drenched OC, Anodetome, Sol, and Jetset Pilates, which are all fantastic if you're considering a private studio experience. At this point, I mainly take CTR at Life Time only when Anisa is teaching. Overall, I'm still very happy with Life Time. I just wish they would bring more energy -- and Anisa -- back to CTR.

Except sometimes it's a sauna room or a steam room. * Nowhere near hygienic in the male lockers and showers. Showers can be clogged and stay clogged for a while (personal experience only at this specific one) Sauna room is filled with people who are wearing workout clothes, and carrying devices in. Both of which pose potential hazards. * Not the best place to find a down to earth community Misuse within mens sauna carrying in devices and synthetic fiber clothing which can cause respiratory irritation etc -------- Pros: * The main differentiation are in the instructors. From my experience the instructors are amazing, knowledgeable and definitely push you. * I also paid for a physical trainer Blake and he was amazing! I managed to have a more foundational understanding of proper workout form which I had difficulty to achieve from a busy schedule. Within my 6 sessions across 2 months I gained 15 ibs of muscle. Dislikes: * Mens lockers and showers aren't the most hygienic. Most importantly showers are sometimes clogged which wastes time looking for one that isn't. Sometimes, towels are strewn across the floor or on benches. * Showers are clogged sometimes so it's like Russian roulette trying to find one that isn't. * Sauna has people who don't seem to understand the hazards of wearing synthetic fibers/clothes and carrying devices in. All of which release VOCs and pose potential fire hazards from the lithium battery exploding...Also wearing clothes while in a sauna can harm your fertility health PSA for those who don't know.

The majority of all the old members of the Sports Club/LA left due to the different crowds of people Equinox has brought in. We called it the 24 hour fitness crowd. It's quite true. A lot of things has certainly changed drastically after it became what it is today. I would say 50/50% of things happening here are good and bad. Behind the closed doors things are not always what they seem for a 5 star upscale gym. A lot of members including myself had have our personal belongings stolen from us from time to time. I've personally had a issue recently that resulted in someone stealing by $200 cycling bib shorts after I went to take a shower after a extremely exhausting spin class. That's pretty disgusting on who ever stole a pair of stinky worn shorts belonging to someone else. Others have their underwear stolen directly from their lockers while they simply walked away to get something. It's creepy. We never had this problem when the Sport Club/LA was around. Seem like all of the bad things that has happened to this beautiful gym is by members who were previously members of 24 hour fitness. Other than the negative things, Equinox is ALWAYS a nice gym to go to when you're looking for the most exclusive upscale gym other companies don't have. One thing that makes me laugh every time I walked through the front door is the valet service that offers easy parking for lazy people.

I've been to just about every 24 Hour Fitness around Orange County over the years -- South Coast, Fountain Valley, Irvine, Santa Ana, MainPlace, Bristol, Huntington Beach, and more -- and this location has ended up being the one I consistently come back to. The biggest reason is honestly the convenience and the community. It's only a few minutes from my house, I know a lot of the regulars and staff, and after this many years it starts to feel more like a familiar routine than just another gym. Brandon and the management team have always been good, and the staff overall does a solid job keeping things moving. The remodel definitely improved the gym and made the layout more user-friendly. Equipment access feels better than it used to, and overall it's cleaner and more functional than a lot of other big box gyms in the area. That said, I do think they could have taken the renovation further. Adding recovery-focused amenities like red light therapy, cold plunges, or upgraded wellness features would have made a huge difference and helped modernize the experience. I'm also not thrilled that towels disappeared while membership prices somehow continue going up year after year. I've been a member for a very long time, and it does get frustrating watching the price steadily increase without really feeling like long-term members get much back in return. Still, for the price point, it's honestly a pretty good gym. It's not an ultra-luxury executive fitness club, but you generally get solid value for what you pay for. Good equipment selection, decent atmosphere, familiar faces, and overall a reliable place to train consistently.
