I swear this is the CLEANEST gym I've ever been to. And I mean ever. I've been going to gyms for the past 30 years and this gym is always spotless. While Planet Fitness may not have the heaviest dumbbells or free squat racks or barbell bench presses, this gym is clean as could be. I go to the Planet Fitness in Pomona and Chino as well. This one is by far the cleanest. What REALLY TOOK ME BACK was how the General Manager Diana actually goes around with the vacuum and personally keeps her gym clean. I've worked out at countless gyms and I've never seen the GM do that. They were always too good or too above that. Very humble and professional leadership on her part. Might have to switch gyms soon since 75lb dumbbells are too light for me. But I really like this gym and the simplicity of it as well as their clean locker rooms and recovery room. I retorted, "Since the software itself allowed me to scan my way in, am I somehow freeloading off you personally?" Went here for the first time because I didn't realize this is the only (I think) PF location that opens 24/7 - now that's pretty neat! I'll list the pros and cons below. Pros: * open 24/7 * variety of equipment * staff is nice * hydromassage beds are controllable - you can start your session early or when you want (at other locations, I have to wait 3 minutes before the bed starts) Cons: * a bit on the smaller side for a gym (less space to walk & less walking room) * extremely stuffy; I sweated more than usual here because it felt like there was no A/C, air flow, or ventilation in the building * for the smith machines, it seemed like they were all taken and for much longer than usual (I worked out for 45 minutes and the stations were FULL for at least 40 minutes of my workout) * one staff member in particular was nice, but he seemed more into the conversation he was having with a random client and there was a line of two of us waiting to sign in to use the massage chairs * black membership section isn't as private as other locations (no door separating this from the gym so anyone can walk in) * a guy was moaning loudly every 5 seconds every time he stretched near me; may not necessarily a location-specific problem, but this also represents the kind of people you may expect to find at this gym Is it the best location I've been to? They say the best thing to do when you're in the middle of several different crises happening at once-- is to go to the gym. I'm an LA girl, getting myself familiar with Orange County after deciding to quit my job and having post-pone the long awaited, cross-country drive to my new, soon-to-be, home address- waaaay out on the east coast. You see, what happened was my cat got out of the pet- carrier I had gotten her and made a run for it when I stopped to pull over and opened the door. No biggie, it's happened before.. however; this time she completely disappeared. I'm devastated and don't know what else to do but to try to continue being active. I walked into this location, relieved it was 24 hours. I was greeted by David and Taylor who politely informed me of the "no cash" policy they have. Mind you, I'm not from the area and my phone was dead, so I asked if it would be possible to charge my phone at the outlet located beneath the hand sanitizer dispenser (which was stocked! A solid gym but kinda limited due to the idiots who just lallygag around on the machines chilling with their friends like they're at the mall. Some people seem to be there all night which is whatever but can be a bit weird if you're trying to use the massage chair but someone is there sleeping but pretending to be using the chair. This PF location is on my way home from work, so I decided to try it instead of driving further to my usual location. Nope, the extra long drive is worth it to me! This PF is small and cramped. The cardio machines do not have their own tvs and face other workout areas, I waited multiple times for equipment and couldn't even get 10lb dumbbells for a while, there's no TRX area, there's hardly any open space for lifting dumbbells or stretching, the machines and weights looked aged, the parking lot felt sketchy, I did not see the employees greeting/saying bye to guests, the crowd was heavily male...I can just get an overall more comfortable and pleasant experience elsewhere. Security sits all day on his phone and harasses the people who come to the gym. Every time I come to work out I do work on my phone and this security or one of his compas come walking up on me and start harassing me. I've gone to many planet fitness across the state (north and south) this is the most weird one. The security outside ruin it. I have family down the street from here and I'm a local customer I do work in the area and I have my PO Box out here and I still get harassed by security?! The facility is well kept. The staff are generally friendly. My issue with this location is the cleanliness of the physical showers and shower curtains in the women's' locker room. The curtains are nasty with brown substances and the showers are not cleaned thoroughly or everyday, for health, aesthetic and sanitation reasons, I find that inadequate and unsatisfactory. Also, instead of hand dryers that are known to breed germs and fecal matter that spray around the showers. I would prefer paper towels instead. If that is not an option, at least an option for paper towels in a bathroom at all would be ideal. Why aren't there paper towels? Overall, decent place. I'm glad it's 24/7. read more

This place used to be good and a peaceful place to workout, after they hired new people coming out from the pandemic it's been really awful. There's been weeks where cleaning supplies have run low or nonexistent. Over night staff is very much and issues, half the time playing games, drawing or talking to each other which is fine if the facility was maintained still. A lot of the amenities for black card aren't maintained properly or are not working properly. Under multiple times I've been accosted, harassed and assaulted by an employee of theirs that works over night (at worst spraying industrial cleaning agent on and around me to the point I couldn't breath/exacerbated my asthma) just to get me to leave. I complain to management and they decided to make me be an issue instead of resolving the matter, I guess they are that desperate for workers. That to me speaks volumes of how a patron is treated in a place that is supposed to be judgment-free and safe to workout; I have definitely have not felt this lately. Bathrooms stay a mess even after they have "supposedly" cleaned them and often times are not restocked; I've taken unaltered unedited pictures of this right after they have "cleaned" and they basically decided to retaliate toward me instead of fixing the issue. Have tried contacting the management over email and phone several times just to be dismissed or ignored. As a person with disabilities, I would strongly suggest to use a different gym other than this one until they fix a lot of their issues, including their employment of aggressive/assaultive immature employees. I have gone to this gym for over five years and have been with this company for over 8, never have I experienced such disrespect and lack for the costumer well being; I have never been made to feel unsafe by a gym and it's staff until now and this location. read more

This place went downhill after Covid. The new ownership really messed things up. Showers still have shit and dirty mats in front of them. I'm literally so grossed out by the filth. The black floors in lockers don't let you know what you're stepping on. I can only imagine how gross the blacked out locker room floors are. The lockers have never been cleaned in over 2 years. This whole experience was awful. Your employees sent me on a wild goose chase to three different locations to transfer my membership which I finally found out after a month of working with employees that don't know anything I was told I can't transfer with 90 days. Then I go to cancel and they won't let me so they send me to another location where i stayed for 45 minutes before they told me I was at the wrong location and need to go to another one. Great waste of time. When I get to the next one I get a charge of 58$ just to cancel ontop of paying for another month I'm not even going to use. To which one of your employees told me I can get around the charge by blocking it on my bank account. After 20 min I found out no actually I can't do that. So I pay the ridiculous fee which by the way I only got the membership because you guys advertised it as cancel any time no hassle. A very decent place to work out. I appreciate that it's 24/7 and most of the time the machines are clean and not broken. I come later in the day so I have no issues with people taking up machines. My only complaint is that every night at around 10:30ish a homeless man comes in and sits at the lounge area playing piano. This wouldn't be a problem, save for the fact that he never seems to come and work out and has a particular smell to him. I've started avoiding the lounge as of late. I went to the gym and I've been coming there for like a month almost 2. I don't like coming here because of the employees and their attitude but I assume it has to be the 24 hour shift schedule affect but they chose to work here but here what and has been happening lol There is this one planet fitness employee named by Lisa who does make faces carries a very belittling demeanor and talks a lot about the people that are coming into the gym that I have noticed with two other male employees She purposely saw me with cash in my hand and so did the other employee behind her watching her type or work the computer then proceeded to ignore my request about purchasing a water after she checked me in then proceeded to check someone else in. She then try to say something to her coworker under her breath after she had told me that we don't take cash after making me wait for five minutes for her to do whatever she was doing on the computer I was waiting for her to finish up not wanting any negative energy just wanted to work out. I didn't mind what she was doing, but she did all that for her own personal gain. I told her why not say something about me having the cash in my hand then stating we don't take cash. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! Planet Fitness Costa Mesa on Harbor No issues with the staff or the company - it's only the location and security of it! There is a rehab facility right upstairs. I have been chased by a screaming man in the parking lot. Barely got into my car in time. When I called to report it, the front desk lady described him and said "yeah, he came in and spat on me." Today, while a was working out, someone came in with a bolt cutter and stole everything out of my locker. Including my wallet (only $10 in cash but three credit cards), my car keys, my friend's wallet (with $200 in cash and her debit cards). They unlocked my car but miraculously didn't steal it. We both canceled all of our cards and have been getting alerts of them trying to use them. Just got one from Macy's in Los Cerritos and the Nintendo Store in Redmond. The workers said they had been robbed just last week. They know they need cameras that cover the parking lot but still haven't implement them. This is a very unsafe location. read more

I've mentioned to the manager personally 3 times that the fan in tanning bed 1 is broken and to several employees. It's been two months and it still hasn't been fixed. It's ridiculous to me that they can't get it fixed. It's pretty uncomfortable to stand in a hot tanning bed with no fan. And when I ask for a different tanning bed half the employees give me a hard time. I've let it go. I've been visiting the Costa Mesa Planet Fitness 2-3 times a week since April 2022. I've found the staff to be friendly, the equipment clean and the cleaning supplies usually available. Highly recommended!! Great gym! Affordable, plenty of machines and what's best about this gym is that it's 24 hours. I'll hit it in the morning around 4a then later in the evening at 6p.
